<div>We’re raising funds for our dear friend Stevie, who is facing a sudden and overwhelming medical crisis far from home.

</div>

<div>Since the end of September, Stevie had been feeling unwell. When she traveled to California for a reunion with close girlfriends, they urged her to go to the hospital — a decision that may have saved her life.

</div>

<div>Doctors discovered a mass in her colon that required emergency surgery. A portion of her intestines had to be removed, and she will need extensive treatment for the next few months. Stevie was hospitalized for about 12 days and is now recovering at her grandparents’ home in California, but she cannot return home to Texas for an estimated four to five months while she heals.

<div>This experience has been physically, emotionally, and financially devastating. Being away from home for months, unable to work, and managing ongoing medical care has placed an enormous burden on Stevie and her family.

<p class="p1" style="line-height:normal;"><span class="s1">We all know Dave, (a fellow Overbrook Regional High School graduate), as a great guy, hard worker, athlete, musician, and dedicated husband who would do anything for his wife Lisa, puppy Charlie, and his entire extended family. Over the weekend, Dave wasn’t feeling well, but thought it was side effects of his second Covid-19 vaccine; however, on Saturday April 24th, Dave (53 years young), was rushed to the hospital with what turned out to be a massive stroke caused by multiple blood clots.</span>

<p class="p1" style="line-height:normal;"><span class="s1">Dave is </span><span>at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, PA </span><span>where he was initially being treated in Intensive Care. He is undergoing many tests and is being cared for to reduce the swelling on his brain, and his future prognosis is uncertain at this time. </span> <span>What is clear is that Dave is facing a long journey to recovery which will require extended medical and supportive care at tremendous expense.</span>
