Hello, my name is Ester, For five years, my life was dedicated to caring for others as a private in-home care provider for a senior citizen. It is a role that I cherish. Now, in a cruel twist of fate, the person who once provided care, is now the one in desperate need of help. My life was recently turned upside down by a severe hit-and-run November 29, 2025. At the time I only had disability insurance, and when the accident occurred, the guy driving the truck fled the scene, leaving me injured on the side of the hwy. Luckily a good samaritan rendered aid and called 911, he was able to tell the police what exactly happened, unfortunately he wasn't able to get the truck's license plate. So, my car was totaled, I was left with a with a long-term disability, which consists of a lumbar 4, which I need surgery for, that will require 3 screws in my back. This incident has made it impossible for me to work. This sudden and complete loss of income has put my grandson (who I currently care for) and I in a desperate situation. My family has been very supportive, they have helped me with my rent & my monthly bills. But, now my doctor has scheduled me for my back surgery on May 29th, and I was just informed that my health insurance will only pay 80% of the surgery, and I have to come up with the rest, which is: 1,519.17. I am going to be honest, "I can't afford that." People that know me, know I am not the type of person to ask for any hand outs, I am very independent, I love to help others, and I don't like taking people for granted. With that being said, I would like to ask for your help if possible, any help is very appreciated. If you can't help I completely understand. I know God will find a way.
