<div>
 For more than 30 years, my mother-in-law Heidi has been lucky enough to call Kīlauea, Kauaʻi home.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Over those three decades, she has poured an extraordinary amount of love and work into this land she has stewarded. She built the dwellings, planted the trees and gardens, and slowly created the place that our own family is fortunate to live on today.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Last night, Hurricane Lowell changed that landscape in a matter of hours.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Powerful winds brought down trees and nearby power lines and caused extensive damage throughout the property, destroying and damaging multiple structures and leaving an enormous amount of debris behind.
</div>
<div>
 Areas that Heidi spent decades building and nurturing have been badly affected, and the scale of the cleanup ahead of us is overwhelming.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 For Heidi, this isn't simply damage to a property. This is more than 30 years of her life—something she built with her own hands, tree by tree and piece by piece.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Since the storm passed, we have been outside clearing fallen trees, branches and debris. As we continue clearing, we are discovering more damage underneath.
</div>
<div>
 What we can already see will take weeks, and likely months, to repair.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Unfortunately, she does not have the financial means to take on repairs of this magnitude alone. Our family is doing what we can to help, but we know the costs of tree removal, cleanup, materials, repairs and rebuilding will quickly reach into the thousands.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 That's why we're asking for help.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Every dollar raised through this GoFundMe will go toward helping Heidi recover from the hurricane and restore her property. Funds will help cover debris and fallen-tree removal, repairs to damaged structures, rebuilding where structures cannot be repaired, replacement materials and equipment, and the many unexpected costs we are continuing to uncover.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We are still in the earliest stages of cleanup, so we don't yet know the full extent of the damage. We will continue sharing photographs and updates as we work our way through the property and have a clearer understanding of what rebuilding will involve.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 If you are able to contribute, no amount is too small. And if donating isn't possible, simply sharing Heidi's story and this fundraiser would mean so much to our family.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 Thank you to everyone who has reached out, offered a hand, checked on us, donated, or shared this fundraiser. We are incredibly grateful to be surrounded by the kind of community that makes Kauaʻi so special.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 We will continue to offer our help to those around us in need over the coming weeks / months as well, as our whole island heals together from this destruction.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity during this time.
</div>
<div>
 <br>
</div>
<div>
 With love and gratitude,
</div>

Help Heidi Rebuild After Hurricane Lowell

<div>Hi, my name is Jack Patel. I am creating this fundraiser to help the wife and daughter of the Late Vishal Pravinbhai Patel, who was tragically killed in Hermitage, Tennessee. Thank you for your prayers and support for this family during these difficult times.

<div>We are <a href="https://www.alleyoopkids.org/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Alley-Oop Kids</a>, an <strong>ESPY WINNING</strong> non-profit run by kids for kids to <strong>ignite joy through sports.</strong> We make sports accessible to under-resourced schools by installing <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lqaTsrMrgHs" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Lending Lockers</a> full of sports gear onsite! We've beat our original goal of 100 Lockers and are now shooting for 500! Currently Lending Lockers bring sports to over 70,00 kids!

<div>Why do we focus on youth sports? Sports bring kids so much joy - a much needed break in the day, a way to connect with friends, the thrill of making a 3-pt shot! Sadly, participation is on the decline in a big way, in low-income families, largely due to the cost of equipment. That in and of itself is an issue but now compound that with a recent study that drew a direct positive correlation between playing sports and academic performance. Middle and high schoolers that played sports had higher grades – up to 9% higher! That’s the difference between passing a class and not passing a class and maybe even going to college or not. The evidence is clear - youth sports are critical and we must work to increase access and equity.

<div>Please help us however you can today! We are very grateful!

100 Lending Lockers

<div>Sean was taken way to soon from all of us. I know a lot of people loved and adored him. Sean was such a beautiful soul who loved his family and friends. He would be there in a heart beat to help anyone in need. He was such a free sprit and always happy.

<div>Anything helps and the family appreciates all the love and support. Thank you so much ❤<br /><br />

Help with Sean's services

Can you believe it is mid-December and so much (but not much) has changed?! As you know, in March we shut ours doors to finally reopen them in October. Our innovative staff re-thought the whole Drexl experience building a stylish outdoor lounge.  Last week, we were asked to shut our services up again. Pivoting once more, we are bringing you cocktails to-go with add’l fun coming down the pipeline. Unfortunately, we were forced to let (most) of our staff go again. We aren’t Drexl without our community. You did it before and if you can afford to do it again, please show our staff some love. We hope to see you all in good health in the New Year. In gratitude, the Drexl Team.
