Hello. My name is Erin. I have battled a lifelong skin condition known as eczema, which has always been severe and chronic. For most of my life, I managed to keep it under control, but things changed dramatically after the passing of my husband and my return to work. My health took a turn for the worse, and I began experiencing infection after infection, relying on antibiotics and oral steroids to heal. Unfortunately, long-term steroid use severely weakened my immune system, so I made the difficult decision to wean off and try biologics to help control my condition. During this transition, I caught a nasty virus that has been circulating and ended up hospitalized with pneumonia and Red Sleeve Syndrome, which is a result of steroid withdrawal. My immune system just couldn't keep up with fighting both skin and lung infections. Because of this, I have missed many days of work that I simply cannot afford to miss. I may not be able to return to work this week, though I desperately need to. I loathe asking for help, but I truly need it this time. I don't know what else to do. I am asking for a little help paying my bills until I am back on my feet within the next two weeks. If you can help with anything, even just sharing my story, it would be greatly appreciated.
