Welcome to EquipED By Akoi. This initiative was created to ensure students across Australia have access to the basic school materials they need to learn with confidence, dignity and opportunity. My name is Akoi — I am a lawyer, educator, community advocate and a national pageant finalist who has dedicated my journey to uplifting, empowering and supporting young people from underrepresented backgrounds. Over the years, working with students from diverse, low socio-economic and migrant communities, I have seen first-hand how something as simple as not having pens, books or stationery can affect confidence, academic performance and belonging. EquipED By Akoi was created because every child deserves a fair start — regardless of background, postcode, household income or circumstance. And if we can remove small barriers early, we change their trajectory long term. This charity forms part of my lifelong mission — to invest into youth, create access to opportunity, and build equity in education across Australia. One school kit at a time.
