<div>For over a year and a half, we have lived under the crushing weight of war. No water to quench our thirst, no food to satisfy our hunger, and no freedom to dream or plan for the future. I had been eagerly awaiting that special day—my graduation with a Master's degree in Computer Engineering—but it never arrived as I had envisioned. Time seemed to freeze, and life itself held its breath at the edge of war.

<div>Before everything changed, my life was full of purpose. I participated in initiatives to support students, took part in graduation ceremonies, and extended my hand to anyone in need. I was Miasser, a young woman with grand dreams and an unbreakable spirit. Graduating as a computer engineer, I was excited for a future filled with opportunities. I worked hard, sponsored orphans, and strived to make a difference in the lives of others. I was also a freelancer, teaching and training remotely, and lecturing at Al-Israa University—until war brought everything to a halt. I had dreamed of earning a Ph.D. and continuing my academic journey, but that dream became ever more difficult amidst the harsh realities we faced.

<div>Then, the war came…
</div>

<div>Everything changed in an instant. Days turned into endless nightmares. Electricity vanished, plunging our world into darkness. Our sense of security was stripped away, our homes reduced to rubble, and we found ourselves seeking shelter in tents that could not protect us from the bitter cold. Work ceased, social lives disappeared, and all sense of collaboration was lost. All that remained were the shadows, the endless lines for water and bread.

<div>I endured suffering in Khan Younis, witnessed devastation in Al-Sinaa, and felt helpless in Al-Nuseirat. I tried to appear strong, but inside, I was breaking with every child’s cry, with every explosion that shattered the remnants of our dreams. Hunger was merciless, but what was even more agonizing was watching my aspirations slip away, powerless to reclaim them.

<div>Yet, I was not alone in this hardship. My greatest fear was for my two-year-old daughter, too young to understand why the lights had gone out, why her toys had disappeared. She looked at me with innocent eyes, searching for the safety I could no longer provide.

<div>And despite it all, I did not surrender. Even through the bombardments, the fear, and the hunger, I clung to my dreams. From the wreckage, I carved out glimmers of hope. I believed that one day, the sun would rise again, and that life must go on—even if we had to rebuild it from beneath the ruins.

<div>منذ أكثر من عام ونصف، ونحن نعيش تحت وطأة الحرب. لا ماء يروي عطشنا، ولا طعام يسد جوعنا، ولا حرية تتيح لنا أن نحلم أو نخطط للغد. كنتُ أنتظر ذلك اليوم بفارغ الصبر، يوم تخرجي من ماجستير هندسة الحاسوب، لكنه لم يأتِ أبدًا كما تخيلته. كأن الزمن توقف هناك، وكأن الحياة علّقت أنفاسها على مشارف الحرب.

<div>قبل أن ينقلب كل شيء، كانت حياتي مليئة بالنشاط، أساهم في مبادرات لمساعدة الطلاب، أشارك في حفلات التخرج، وأمدُّ يدي لكل محتاج. كنتُ ميسّر، فتاة تحمل في قلبها أحلامًا كبيرة وعزيمة لا تُقهر. تخرجتُ كمهندسة حاسوب، متحمسة لمستقبل مليء بالفرص. كنتُ أعمل بجد، أكفل الأيتام، وأسعى لإحداث فرق في حياة الآخرين. كنتُ أعمل كفريلانسر محاضِرة ومدربة عن بعد، وأحاضر في جامعة الإسراء، قبل أن يتوقف عملي بالكامل بسبب الحرب. كنتُ أحلم بالحصول على درجة الدكتوراه والاستمرار في الحياة الأكاديمية، لكن كل شيء أصبح أصعب مع الظروف القاسية التي نعيشها.

<div>ثم جاءت الحرب…
</div>

<div>كل شيء تبدّل في لحظة. تحولت الأيام إلى كوابيس لا تنتهي. انطفأت الكهرباء، وساد الظلام كل زاوية في حياتنا. فقدنا الأمان، فقدنا البيوت التي كانت تحتضننا، وجدنا أنفسنا في خيام لا تقي من البرد القارس. لم يعد هناك عمل ولا حياة اجتماعية، لا فرص للمشاركة ولا روح للفريق. لم يبقَ سوى العتمة وطوابير الماء والخبز.

<div>عشت القهر في خانيونس، والمآسي في الصناعة، والألم في النصيرات. كنتُ أحاول أن أتظاهر بالقوة، لكن داخلي كان ينهار مع كل صرخة طفل، مع كل صوت قذيفة يهدم أحلامنا. كان الجوع

<div>قاسيًا، لكن الأشد قسوة أن ترى أحلامك تتبدد أمام عينيك وأنتِ عاجزة عن إنقاذها.

<div>لكنني لم أكن وحدي في هذه المعاناة، كنتُ أخشى على طفلتي، ذات العامين، التي لم تفهم لماذا لم يعد هناك ضوء في المنزل، ولماذا لم تعد ترى ألعابها. كنتُ أراها تنظر إليَّ بعينيها البريئتين، تبحث عن الأمان الذي لم أعد قادرة على منحه لها.

<div>ومع كل هذا، لم أستسلم. رغم القصف والخوف والجوع، ظللتُ أتمسك بأحلامي، أخلق من بين الركام بصيص أمل، أؤمن أن الشمس ستشرق من جديد، وأن الحياة لا بد أن تستمر، حتى لو اضطررنا إلى إعادة بنائها من تحت الأنقاض.
