Hi, I’m Elliot, a 22-year-old artist living with my supportive non-binary partner. I’ve been out as trans since I was 14, but my large chest remains my biggest dysphoria struggle—stopping me from enjoying hobbies, art, and life.For the last two years, I thought I was on the NHS waiting list. I recently found out I wasn't. Now that I’ve finally been referred, the wait time is a crushing 6 years. I simply cannot survive in this body for another six years. Worse, I recently had a terrifying scare with a chest lump. I’ve had an examination and they’re not concerned about illness, but it is noticeable tissue damage from years of heavy binding. Every day I continue to bind poses an increasing risk to my health, making this surgery an urgent medical necessity. Going private is my only option!
