Rodeina and Ahmed are 20 year old twins from Khartoum, Sudan. Their dream is to become physicians and help others. This campaign is to support the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year of medical school (ACHIEVED!!) for both Rodeina and Ahmed and then continue support for year #3 schooling.  In 2023, just one month into their medical and surgical training at Ibn Khaldoun Medical College in Khartoum, their lives were upended when war broke out between the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Army. Forced to leave their home, the family spent over a year and a half moving from town to town, facing uncertainty and hardship at every turn, always hopeful the war would soon end. "We began studying medicine because our country, Sudan, is an underdeveloped country and suffers from shortages in the health sector. We hope to be effective and useful individuals for our country. We also hope that when we graduate from college, we will have opportunities to continue postgraduate studies in a developed country to gain experience and become good doctors for our community." In the spring of 2024, one year after the war began, the family found temporary safety in the Port of Sudan but faced a lack of access to clean water and electricity shortages. Realizing they could not stay, the family made the difficult decision to leave their beloved country, embarking on a very dangerous route out of Sudan. Upon finally reaching safety in Alexandria, Egypt, they faced new challenges: it took eight months to register for UNHCR refugee status. Rodeina and Ahmed's family are among the 13 million people displaced by the ongoing crisis in Sudan. Despite losing everything, Rodeina and Ahmed have remained focused on their education and their dream of becoming doctors. The twins are in their second year of a five-year medical program in Cairo, Egypt, enrolled in a Sudan/Egypt medical exchange program. Their hope is to eventually transfer and complete their degrees at an Egyptian Medical School, where tuition is significantly higher. The twins have already completed practical training in Egypt and passed their first-year exams, demonstrating their resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Both parents, though highly educated and experienced, are struggling to secure employment and restart their lives. They have exhausted all resources. The twins' father, Mourtada, is a civil engineer and speaks four languages. Their mother, Asmahan, is a medical laboratory manager. The cost of the twins' medical school education and living expenses is a constant worry. We are reaching out to family, friends, and compassionate supporters to help cover Rodeina and Ahmed's tuition, living expenses, travel, school fees, and technology expenses.  Your support will make a direct impact on their ability to continue their studies and pursue their dream of becoming physicians. Since we succeeded in covering 2025-2026 tuition, funds will be applied to the 2026-2027 school year.
