<div>Early on March 24th, around 2 AM, my brother Alex was awakened by a loud noise in his home. When he went downstairs to check out what made the sound, he discovered that their house was on fire. By God’s grace, everyone was able to get out safely.

<div>Thankfully, the fire department was able to put out the fire in time to stop the house from burning down. However, the garage is completely damaged and the rest of the house has a lot of smoke and heat damage.
</div>

<div>Right now, we are reaching out for support in any way—prayers, food, giving a financial gift, or even simply sharing this page with others. Just to give an idea of the need: insurance won’t cover items like new beds and appliances. We have set up this GoFundMe to help my brother and his family navigate the next few months as they work to figure things out.

<div>Our dear friends Anthony, Kubeshini, Keisari, and Addison Penman lost their home and all of their possessions in the Eaton Canyon Fire.

<div>Kubeshini &amp; Addison were at home when a neighbor ran down the street shouting "FIRE GET OUT NOW" luckily they were able to leave safely but left behind all of their clothes and family possessions.

<div>The best way you can support them is give what you can as they navigate this disaster. It never occurred to me as someone loses their home they have to KEEP PAYING THEIR MORTGAGE?! how difficult must that be, along with all your regular bills while trying to figure out how to apply for grants, aid, and accommodation.

<div>In lieu of gifts for my 50th birthday, I encourage you to support the HETMA Prism Scholarship that I helped to found that offers education, mentorship, and certification to women and underrepresented professionals in the AV industry who work in higher education. Each year, HETMA offers ten (10) scholarships that include an Elite membership to AVIXA for CTS training, a mentor from another institution, and $1500 travel stipend to attend InfoComm, the industry's leading tradeshow. This initiative was founded in 2021 and is currently in its second cohort of awardees. My goal is to use my birthday to fund two (or more) of the ten scholarships for this year. <font color="#333333">We are trying to find the purchase of a wheelchair van for our daughter Hannah, who had many medical conditions - most notably HIE at birth and now Cerebral Palsy. We need to be able to safely and reliably transport her to weekly therapies as well as hospital visits and all her specialists.<br /><br />Due to the adaptations needed, accessible vans are much more costly than a typical van. With our economic stimulus money and tax refund, we only need a little more to be able to manage a sizable enough down payment to handle the monthly payments. Please consider helping us with this need.</font>

Hannah’s Wheelchair Van

On Friday, August 9th, Corey Moss suffered a stroke.  After spending a week in the hospital, he has moved to a rehab facility where he is going to be spending the next 2-6 weeks recovering and building his strength back up.  <br /><br />Corey is the much-loved host of several successful podcasts, including Convergent AV, AV Life, and the AV Road House (resurrection).  He also runs <a href="https://convergentav.net/"><a href="https://convergentav.net/" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://convergentav.net/</a></a> <br /><br />It is going to be a challenge for Corey to work while in recovery (although he is really missing recording his podcasts).  It would be fantastic if all of his friends, colleagues and listeners could help pitch in to get him back up on his feet, both literally and figuratively.<br /><br />Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.

Hello! This beautiful baby girl is Olivia. She is about to turn 1. She already loves life and never meets a stranger without a smile. She has two brothers and a big sister whom she loves very much. She also loves talking to (screaming at) her mommy and daddy, but soon, she may not be able to hear them. <br /><br /> You see, Olivia has profound hearing loss in her left ear and severe hearing loss in her right. In other words, without the use of her hearing aids, she can't hear her family when they talk to her. The hearing aids obviously help, but doctors say her hearing loss will most likely continue to degrade. Additionally, based on the specific sounds she can't hear, her speech will be affected. <br /><br /> There is hope! Olivia is eligible to receive cochlear implants, which would help her hear more clearly than she will with hearing aids. Unfortunately, even with health insurance covering the majority of the cost for the surgery to insert the implants, it will still cost Olivia's parents $3750 for each ear. This cost is just for the surgery, on top of all the other procedures and test that Olivia has had and will continue to have to get. <br /><br /> I don't share this to make you feel sorry for Olivia. She is one of the happiest babies you will ever meet, and she is going to grow up loved. If I know her family, Olivia will grow up and overcome any adversity that comes her way on account of her hearing loss. As a friend of the family, and someone who loves this little girl so much, I would love nothing more than to be able to pay for her surgery myself, as does her family. But I can't do this alone. I need your help. Will you join me in helping this wonderful family?<br /><br /> The Bible says that God formed Olivia and knitted her together in her mother's womb. She is fearfully and wonderfully made (Ps. 139:13-14). We know this to be true, and as such know that God will provide for this beautiful little girl, His daughter. Romans 8:28 says, "And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose." God will provide for this child. He already is!
