Me and my family moved to Indiana around September 2024, hoping for a fresh start and a better life. At first, things were going well in our big home, and we were settling into our new community. But towards the end of 2025, everything changed. My dad lost his jobs, and my mom became the only one working. I struggle with anxiety and other illnesses, which makes it hard for me to keep a job, so I haven’t been able to help my mom as much as I want to. My dad’s job loss has been especially hard on him, and he hasn’t been able to support us since we moved. My mom is a nurse, and carrying all the responsibility herself has taken a toll on her health. Since February 24th, we’ve been in and out of hotels, sometimes facing judgment from hotel staff because of all the things we have with us. We’ve lost almost everything and can’t afford to keep our storage for what’s left from our house. The stress has been overwhelming for all of us. Because of my mom’s credit, we haven’t been easily approved for a house, so we keep moving from place to place, and it’s taking a huge toll on our family. I just want us to have a home again and to feel whole. I almost got my CNA license to help, but I had to let it go because I can’t drive and Uber costs were too high. We’ve lost so much, and so have I. We also don’t have a car—my mom lost her truck, so we’ve been relying on Uber and renting cars, which adds even more cost. On top of that, we have to pay a lot each night for hotels because we have pets—a cat and a dog. It’s me, my two brothers, my dad, my mom, and our pets, all trying to stay together and safe. The funds from this fundraiser will help us find stable housing, cover storage and moving costs, help with transportation, and support our daily essentials—anything that could help us move into a comforting home.
