<div>As a primary school teacher with over 20 years of experience and a trained child bereavement counsellor, I’ve seen firsthand how essential it is to provide the right support during such a challenging time.
</div>

<div>Throughout my teaching career in the Scottish Borders, I identified a significant gap in services for children experiencing grief. Sadly, due to funding cuts, many children no longer have access to the vital bereavement support they need to navigate their feelings of loss.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After earning my COSCA certificate qualification in bereavement counselling for children and young people, I worked as a bereavement counsellor in schools through a program supported by the Scottish Borders Council. But when that program ended, I felt compelled to take action.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I decided to create my own counselling service—a safe space for children to feel supported, understood, and guided through their grief. Having experienced bereavement as a child myself, I know how crucial it is to work through these emotions. It’s a process that helps build resilience and equips children with tools for life’s future challenges.
</div>

</div>
<div>Since starting my practice, I’ve been approached by many people asking how they can contribute to help children who are unable to afford bereavement counselling. That’s why I’ve launched this fundraiser.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My goal is to raise enough funds to provide a six-week block of bereavement counselling for children who would otherwise be unable to access this support due to financial barriers. When we reach this goal, I will collaborate with local schools in the Scottish Borders to identify and fund a child who needs this essential care.
</div>

</div>
<div>Every donation, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to offering a lifeline to a grieving child. Together, we can make sure no child has to navigate their grief alone.

<div>As many of you have heard, on the 22nd October Liam Muckle sadly passed away, far to soon.
</div>

<div>Liam was loved by so many people and will be forever missed. A lovely young lad, who never failed to make you smile, no matter what kind of day you was having.
</div>

</div>
<div>Liam leaves behind two beautiful children, Luca aged two and Tommie aged 8weeks. I am organising this Go Fund Me Page in the hope of setting up a Trust Funds for both of the boys to help support them in the future, as they become young adults. I have lots of happy memories of Liam from a young age, becoming best friends with Aaron since Tweedmouth West days right up through his years. So I am hoping we can raise some money in Liam's memory for his boys futures.

<div>We have recently had some sad news that our lovely puppy Penny has hip dysplasia. Unfortunately, at 6 months old she needs two hip replacements! We have explored other options but due to the severity of her case this is the only option to give her a pain free life. Otherwise, without the surgery she will continue to develop arthritis which has already started and her mobility will decline as it becomes increasingly painful for her to play and walk.

<div>We are hoping to raise some money to help pay for this surgery as our insurance doesn’t cover the whole cost! As you can imagine, a new hip doesn’t come as cheap as we hoped!
</div>

<div>We got Penny in July from a local breeder to keep me company whilst George is working away. We have quickly became a loving little family and couldn’t imagine life without her!
</div>

</div>
<div>Penny is a working Golden Retriever and LOVES crunchy leaves and sticks! She loves rolling about the fresh cut grass and having tummy rubs off anyone that walks past… for as long as she refuses to move!
</div>

</div>
<div>Penny loves nothing more than bouncing about the fields with other dogs and will be friends with anyone, unfortunately she can’t get the squirrels to like her back :( unfortunately, due to her recent diagnosis we have been advised to keep her bouncing and twisting to a minimum meaning she isn’t able to enjoy her walks as she should!

Help give Penny new hips !

<p>I'm fundraising for my lovely friend Claire who has shown me strength and determination that makes me so proud of her.
</p><br />
<p> In December 2022 Claire contracted Strep A which led to Sepsis and has left her with Guillain Barre Syndrome. 
</p><br />
<p>Claire spent 10months in ITU fighting for her life. 3months 3weeks in Astley Ainslie and 2months in the Knoll hospital to rehabilitate. 
</p><br />
<p> She returned home on April 5th 2024 with a care plan in place. 
</p><br />
<p>A private neuro physiotherapist has been working with Claire and  she has strongly recommended a MOTOmed MUVI  machine to help Claire regain strength and movement in her arms and legs. This machine is not available on the NHS.
</p><br />
<p>The family have had many financial outlays so far, altering their home, and also
</p>
<p>changing their car to enable wheelchair acces.
</p><br />
<p>The machine will cost 9k and I'm hopeful that I can raise this amount with your help. If you know Claire then you know how determined she is to get better. Thank you all

<div>We write to you with heavy hearts, seeking your assistance to bring our beloved Joop Sparkes (29), home from Prague and to celebrate his short life.

<div><strong>What happened?</strong>

<div>During an organized party boat trip with friends in Prague, Joop went overboard into the Vltava River in the early hours of Sunday 28th April near the Charles Bridge Area.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After 7 days of desperately searching by his sister (Jodie) , girlfriend (Charley) and other family members - on Monday May 6th 2024, Joop's body was pulled from the Vltava River and identified.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>

<div><strong>Challenges Faced:</strong>

<div>Efforts to find Joop have been met with significant challenges. Crew members aboard the party boat have been uncooperative, and the Prague police initially showed disinterest. Back home, Scottish Police advised that the responsibility lies with authorities in Prague. Joop’s family have received no financial support from the British Embassy and funded their search efforts themselves.

<div>Joop was a cherished son, brother, boyfriend, cousin and uncle. He worked in the construction industry and enjoyed outdoor adventures, staying fit, and spending time with loved ones. He was a funny, caring and adventurous young man who spent much of his time in Nature from climbing mountains, to camping in the wilderness. He also spent much of his time with his girlfriend Charley and working on his cars (especially his Honda Civic Type R!).

<div>We are devastated by our loss and Joop's passing has left a hole in our hearts. Please keep Joop in your thoughts and prayers. Your donation will help us to repatriate Joop's body back to the UK, contribute towards funeral costs and investigate with local authorities to find out what happened to him.
