I'm reaching out today with a story that's both infuriating and heart-wrenching. It's about my dear friend, Anne Greene, a genuine hero who's been through an unimaginable hell and needs our help. <br /><br /> On April <font color="#333333">17, 2015</font>, Anne did something most of us hope we'd have the courage to do, she intervened to save a stranger from a violent attack. This selfless act of bravery had a devastating cost. Anne was severely beaten, suffering injuries that ended her promising career and left her with a traumatic brain injury. The attackers were eventually arrested, tried, convicted and ordered to pay Anne a $34M settlement…That’s when her nightmare turned into a living hell. The attackers, despite their despicable actions, have faced no real consequences. Thanks to their wealth and connections, they've managed to avoid prison time, continuing to live their lives of luxury. Meanwhile, Anne has been left to struggle, her life upended. Despite winning a $34 million settlement, she hasn't received a penny due to the attackers' legal maneuverings.

Anne's bravery has come at a high price. She's been subjected to ongoing harassment and threats, and making her daily life a constant battle for safety and peace. Now, to add insult to injury, Anne is on the brink of homelessness due to the enormous cost of trying to protect herself and seek justice while struggling to find work she can do within her specific injuries.
<br /><br /> This is where you come in. I’m rallying to raise $25,000 to provide Anne with the immediate support she desperately needs. This fund will help secure safe housing for Anne and her emotional support dog, Blitz, cover living expenses, and afford her a measure of security she hasn't felt in years.

<div>I didn’t have a plan. I didn’t have funding. I didn’t even know how to run a shelter. But I knew, with every part of me, that I couldn’t look away from the suffering of animals on our streets. Something was calling me back home. And I answered it.

<div>I never imagined that 12 years later, I would be writing this… asking for your help to build Pakistan’s first animal rescue sanctuary.

<div>Since starting this journey, I’ve had to move the animals four times. Four separate locations — each time forced out because people didn’t want animals near them. Each time came with harassment, rejection, and heartbreak. Each time, I packed up everything and started over.

From 4 to 35,000 Lives: Build Pakistan’s First Sanctuary

<div>Founded in 2013, ACF began as just a dream — a small group of people determined to bring compassion and dignity to the lives of animals in Pakistan, where animal rights still remain unrecognized. From those early days in Karachi, we’ve never stopped. Over the past decade, we’ve worked tirelessly to build what is now the country’s first comprehensive animal rescue and welfare organization.

<div>What started as a humble effort has grown into a movement. Today, we’ve rescued, rehabilitated, and cared for over 35,000 abused and neglected animals, and our shelter is home to over 1,800 animals at any given time — all receiving food, medical care, love, and safety.

<div>Every day, our city-wide rescue service responds to 30 to 40 emergency calls, reaching injured and abused animals across Karachi — the 7th largest city in the world. Our hotline and call center operate non-stop, ensuring no cry for help goes unheard.

From Streets to Sanctuary: Support Pakistan’s Animals

<div>My name is Jenny Nelson. My husband and I were first on the scene just before 9:00am on Thursday, June 11th, 2026, after Reyna’s produce stand was destroyed on the corner of Highway 229 and Highway 101.

<div>The alleged perpetrator came back twice. Both incidents included rage and violence. 
</div>

<div>Yesterday, Reyna, the woman who operates the produce stand at the corner of Highway 229 and Highway 101, was allegedly assaulted along with her husband.

</div>

<div>According to Reyna, the responding officer did not speak her language, creating a significant language barrier during the investigation. As of now, Reyna says she has not been provided with a case number, the officer’s name, or a business card with contact information.

</div>

</div>

<div>An agency has stepped in to help Reyna navigate the process. However, despite law enforcement indicating that a case number was provided, Reyna maintains that she has no knowledge of receiving one and has not been given any way to identify or contact the responding officer. The agency assisting her was reportedly told that only Reyna can be provided with the case number, yet Reyna still does not have it.

<div>Don Elmore of the Lower Siletz Water District confirmed that an individual identified as Daniel Noneze works as a meter reader for the district. Mr. Elmore stated that he is unsure of the correct spelling of Daniel’s last name. According to Mr. Elmore, the Lower Siletz Water District does not have hiring paperwork for Daniel, he is paid in cash, has not undergone a background check, and is not issued a 1099 for his work.

<div>Mr. Elmore also confirmed the individual’s identity after reviewing a photograph that was emailed to him by witness Jenny Nelson, stating that the person depicted was the same Daniel who performs meter reading work for the Lower Siletz Water District.

<div>Regardless of who the alleged assailant may be, this community deserves answers. Every victim should be able to communicate effectively with law enforcement, receive basic information about their own case, and feel confident that their report is being taken seriously.

<div>We are calling for transparency, accountability, and a thorough investigation into the alleged assault on Reyna and her husband. Language barriers should never prevent victims from accessing justice, and no one should be left without the information they need to follow up on their own case.

<div>As this matter remains under investigation, all allegations should be evaluated through the proper legal process, and anyone with firsthand knowledge or evidence is encouraged to provide that information to law enforcement.

Dr. Adesanya is a resident physician whose life was upended after she reported sexual harassment from a supervisor, major patient safety concerns, and discrimination at the hospital.<strong> SHE IS CURRENTLY HOMELESS AFTER THE TIMELINE OF THE EVENTS BELOW. As you can imagine, this is such a scary thing for a young woman to go through, but we continue to admire Dr. Adesanya's strength. </div>
<div><strong>September 2nd, 2025:</strong> As pleaded in the federal lawsuit, Dr. Adesanya was forced into a supply closet by a male supervising physician who blocked her exit and made threatening statements. Dr. Adesanya reported the assault to leadership, but no internal investigation was conducted by the hospital (Paragraphs 37-44).

<div><strong>• December 12th, 2025:</strong> Dr. Adesanya was in good standing in her program; she received an excellent semiannual evaluation with ZERO relative deficiencies noted (Paragraphs 45–48).
</div>

<div><strong>• December 22nd, 2025:</strong> As set forth in the federal complaint, Dr. Adesanya reported patient safety concerns at the hospital and was forbidden by a female attending from filing a CPS report on a minor patient who had reported child abuse. The same female attending told Dr. Adesanya to “keep quiet and just agree” (Paragraph 63-68).

<div><strong>• January 2026:</strong> As pleaded in the federal lawsuit, the hospital scheduled the same male physician to supervise her during the first week of January without prior notice. Within days, she was subjected to further severe sexual harassment, including him telling her he hoped she would be raped (Paragraph 49-62).

</div>
<div><strong>• January 5th, 2026: </strong>Dr. Adesanya submitted a formal written report detailing these patient safety and harassment concerns to program leadership and was abruptly removed from her rotation that same day (Paragraphs 65- 69).
</div>

<div><strong>• January 13th, 2026:</strong> The Clinical Competency Committee voted to place Dr. Adesanya on probation, stating she had developed THIRTEEN deficiencies just one month after evaluating her as having none. The hospital disclosed her private health information in the probation letter without her consent and sent it to the whole psychiatry department. The probation notice also alleged she had a "contemptuous attitude" (Paragraphs 70- 73).

<div><strong>• June 30th, 2026:</strong> The hospital ends Dr. Adesanya’s residency without warning, after impairing her ability to continue her medical training and transfer prospects. (Paragraphs 76-77, 163)

In the medical world, being placed on probation can prevent a resident from ever practicing medicine again. </strong>It will be a long road to obtain medical board defense services, fly out for interviews, and participate in hearings, as she attempts to get the probation removed from her record. This cost is time-dependent, but we estimate will cost her anywhere from $15,000 to $60,000.
