Hello Team Camille. We apologize for the sparse updates since Camille’s last surgery, but the difficulties and challenges with her previous procedure have been pretty overwhelming, leaving us all seeking a respite from medical issues. Please consider following and sharing with this episode of Camille’s limb lengthening. Camille is 10 years old and many of you have been by her side since her first hip surgery as an infant. We are eternally grateful for your love and support and know she would not have made the progress she has without your help. For those that may not know, Camille was born with a complex orthopedic condition called PFFD. Camille has a congenital short femur, malformed hip and partial knee as part of her condition. Her situation is severe, complex and requires very specialized care. The two specialists in treating her condition are Scott Nelson MD, at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital in Southern California and Dror Paley MD at Paley Institute in Florida. Camille has been followed to date by Dr Nelson for 6 surgeries and supported by post care at Shriners Hospital for Children in Portland. As we are behind proposed schedule for lengthening, we are seeking support for her 2026 Limb Lengthening. The Paley Institute is the nation’s leading facility for comprehensive surgery and postoperative care of PFFD. Her procedure will require 4-5 months of non-weight bearing post care. Because of the complexity of her condition, the requirement for very limited specialized care and the comprehensive aspect of their institute, we have scheduled a consultation with Dr Paley in October. We hope to have her condition and treatment plan reviewed and to have further guidance regarding her care. Please consider prayers, sharing and any support you might afford Camille and our family as we continue the challenge of providing her care and the greatest chance of a pain free functional adult life. If inclined, feel free to review her previous campaigns to see her history of care and support. We will share information about Camille’s current functioning and challenges with updates. Thank you for reading this and for any consideration of support you might afford Camille.
