What Nichola cares about

Proud dog mum to Holly & her little siblings. They’re my joy and family, and I’m doing all I can to keep them happy, safe, and loved.

This is Holly. Holly is 13 years old and has been part of our family for over a decade. She’s a Staffy / Border Collie / Jack Russell mix with the gentlest heart. She lives for fuss and cuddles — if there’s attention going, Holly wants to be right in the middle of it. She has always been soft and loving, especially with our younger dogs. Even now, she still tries to play with them. But recently, her health has declined. Her back legs have started kicking out from underneath her, and she sometimes struggles to stay steady. Watching her try so hard is heartbreaking. Holly was previously diagnosed with a Grade 1 heart murmur. At her latest check-up, we were told it has progressed and is now likely a Grade 4 or possibly Grade 5. She urgently needs: • A cardiac scan (£250) to confirm the severity • Specialist assessment • Ongoing heart medication (costs vary) • Essential dental treatment (£1,300) The dental work cannot safely go ahead until we understand how serious her heart condition is. The estimated cost for her immediate care is around £1,550, not including medication and follow-up appointments. We are setting a goal of £1,800 to cover her scan, treatment, medication, and any additional costs that may arise. Holly still has so much love to give. She still wags her tail for cuddles. She still looks at us like we are her whole world. We just want to give her comfort, proper treatment, and the best quality of life possible in her golden years. If you’re able to donate — even £1 — it truly makes a difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this page would mean everything to us. Thank you for taking the time to read Holly’s story and for helping us fight for her.
