<div>I am reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for Trisha Williamson, who is battling progressive liver disease. Life has taken an unexpected turn for Trisha, and this journey has been incredibly difficult. She is scared but trying to stay strong and hopeful, though she cannot do this alone.

<div>Trisha's diagnosis came after a long battle with illness. Initially, doctors suspected ovarian cancer due to related issues, but extensive testing ultimately revealed the liver disease. Over the past 14 months, her condition has not improved, despite her dedicated efforts to make healthy lifestyle changes. She quit smoking cigarettes on August 23, 2025, and alcohol on November 20, 2023. She does not use drugs, maintains a healthy diet as recommended by dieticians (including low sodium), takes her medications diligently, and tries to stay active even when fatigued.

<div>The past year has involved numerous tests, procedures, and medical appointments, all of which have taken a significant toll on her emotionally and financially. She has undergone six paracentesis procedures, with another scheduled for October 9th in Petoskey, MI (80 miles away). She has also had two EGDs with banding, and a third is scheduled for October 14th, also in Petoskey. Recently, Trisha experienced a ruptured esophageal varices, resulting in severe blood loss and requiring an emergency blood transfusion. This critical event, caused by poor blood flow through her liver, led to an ambulance rush to downstate Michigan for emergency surgery, where we almost lost her. Without a new liver, this could happen again, and she may not be as fortunate next time.

<div>Trisha is understandably scared of the transplant process, but even more so of leaving her children, her first grandchild, family, and friends behind. She remembers what it was like to be healthy Her 15-year-old daughter and 21-year-old son, who is soon to be a father, both need their mom. These are her reasons to live. She longs to make new memories with her loved ones and deserves this chance. Trisha is still young and has always put others before herself. She is determined to seize this opportunity for a fresh start with a new liver and prioritize her own well-being.

<div>To be listed for a transplant, Trisha must complete several steps, including numerous medical and psychological evaluations by specialists and doctors. These appointments require extensive travel, as these services are not available in our area of the Upper Peninsula. She needs clearance from social workers, financial counselors, neuropsychologists, and must undergo screenings for cancer, TB, and drugs.

<div>We are seeking help to cover the financial burdens associated with this process, including travel costs, accommodations, lost wages from time off work, and healthy meals for Trisha while on the road. Our goal is to alleviate her financial stress so she can focus solely on her recovery, rather than worrying about bills.
