What Janet cares about

Hello! I live in Indiana. I care about so many things in our world: a person's rights, animals, environment, Veterans, community action/engagement, & health.

I am a fighter. I have always fought for those I love-an advocate. I was also a caregiver. Despite my own disabilities and shortcomings, I have never abandoned family in need, sometimes the caretaker needs taking care of. I advocate for me now.

I have recently experienced heartbreaking losses in my home life. In 2024, my mother, Olivia, passed away, and on 4/14/26, my brother, Jeff, died suddenly from a massive heart attack. November 2025, I also lost one of my fur babies, Baxter to a congenital heart defect. These losses have been devastating, and I am trying to carry this grief and deal with what my Mother and Brother have left behind. I am disabled and was Jeff's dependent. We shared a rented home, with Jeff covering the bills while I managed the groceries. The plan was to move to Kentucky to be with Jeff's children, but that plan has fallen through, and the option to move in with other family is not viable. My landlord has not been very sympathetic to everything that has happened. On Monday, May 18th, he placed a 10-day order to be out or begin the eviction process. I'm also in danger of losing utilities. However, I am fighting, and I am close to securing a low-income place, but I need your help. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward securing a new place to live, including applicable application fees, deposit, and holds, if needed, plus utilities not included in the rent. Your support will also help me remain in my current home and maintain essential utilitiesuntil I can move. Any amount, no matter hiw small, you can offer will mean more than I can express in gratitude, and as I have always tried to do, I will pay that debt of gratitude by paying it forward, helping others any way I'm able to. Thank you for reading my story, for sharing, and for any advice that has been given in addition to monetary donations. I am truly grateful to you all! God Bless!
