Once upon a time, there was a one-of-a-kind girl named TASHA. She got recognized by someone everywhere she went. Making friends no matter where she is be them furry or human, Tasha has a easygoing, friendly, and inviting aura that surrounds her 24/7.

It's that warming light that is carrying Tasha through this difficult time. In late July/early August Tasha was experience discomfort and after a trip to Urgent Care and then a trip a few days later to the Emergency Room, she was diagnosed with the dreaded C Word. Tasha has since been on the road to treatment for metastatic Colon cancer. The cancer has spread to her ovaries and her liver. She has a wonderful medical team, has been doing everything she can to kick this C Word in the butt!

However, it's a long road and a difficult one. Tasha needs our help to make sure she can afford to keep going. Even with the best health insurance there are many out of pocket costs. #Merica

The funds from this fundraiser will help cover out-of-pocket medical expenses for treatment, even with insurance, along with the specialty medical supplies needed for her recovery. These costs are adding up while she is already facing so much physically, mentally, and emotionally.

If you are able to give, any amount would help ease some of the financial burden and support Tasha as she moves toward treatment and recovery. If you cannot donate, sharing this fundraiser would also mean a great deal. Thank you for showing up for her during this time.

Help Tasha Kick The C-Word!

I'm John Freeman, publisher of the web site, downthetubes - and I'll cut straight to the chase. I need your help.

downthetubes is a comic site primarily promoting British comics, my work complemented by contributions from a fantastic team of volunteers. It's been running since 1998, and has a little bit of income from ads and affiliates, and we have a dedicated, loyal and appreciated audience. But what I don't have is the capacity to cope well with a large bill, especially when it's a hosting bill of just over £2100, up from £1500 two years ago, when I first ran this crowdfunder, up from £620 two years earlier.

The rises reflect not only service cost rises we're seeing in many areas of life, but, also, our increased popularity and the size of growing archive of news, interviews and features that I hope our many readers are still enjoying.

I have been working since then behind the scenes to get the site on a different server, but the technical scale of moving such a large archive, and work schedules, has meant we haven’t quite achieved that aim, yet.

I’m reigniting this crowdfunder, in the hope you can help me cover this bill, conscious that times are, perhaps, hard for many, and aware how much so many of you kindly donated back in 2024. Thank you.

At a time when things are tight for everyone, I fully appreciate it's a huge ask to come cap in hand, again, and ask people if they can stretch to supporting downthetubes. I have reserves to cover some of this bill, but if you can help in any way, that would be much appreciated.

Even if you can't make a donation, if you can simply let people know about this appeal that would be fantastic, or buy something from my eBay store, or use the affiliate links on the site to buy something.

Thank you for reading this.

Can you help downthetubes.net continue to promote comics?

Kate and Jonathan Durre recently purchased what was to become their dream home. I have never seen two people put more effort and heart into the crafting of a home.

As it happens fate is sometimes cruel. December 6th, 2017 it was confirmed that Kate and Jon’s home fell victim to the Creek Canyon fires raging thru Southern California. What's left of their home is pictured.

We, her friends and colleagues at DC Entertainment (Burbank, CA), are reaching out for support to help them stay safe and warm, get back on their feet, and help restore what can be of their dream home. All monies raised will be given directly to Kate and Jonathan to buy whatever necessities they need to rebuild their home/life since they have nothing but the clothes on their backs.

Many thanks to all who help or donate.

Nick N.
