<p>Hi, my name is Claire Blair, and I am fundraising on behalf of my husband, Chris Blair and our family. 
</p><br />
<p>Our lives were changed in an instant after a sudden and serious hunting accident on January 1, 2026. Chris fell approximately 30 feet from a tree, resulting in multiple, severe injuries that will require extensive surgeries, long-term rehabilitation, and an uncertain recovery timeline. 
</p><br />
<p>Chris’s current injuries include: 
</p><br />
<p>-Right shin fracture, requiring metal rods and screws 
</p>
<p>-Left shin and tibia fractures, requiring external metal rods and pins due to the extent of damage 
</p>
<p>-Left elbow dislocation and fractures, requiring more complex treatment and surgery 
</p>
<p>-Right wrist fracture, requiring metal rods and screws 
</p>
<p>-C6 and C7 neck fractures and dislocation, requiring plates and screws 
</p><br />
<p>And not to mention all other other smaller contusions or "Stable" Fractures as our Doctors would call them, what won't require surgery. 
</p><br />
<p>The road ahead is overwhelming. Recovery is expected to take many months, possibly years, and at this time it is unclear when—or if—Chris will be able to return to work in his chosen profession. For the foreseeable future, he will be unable to work. 
</p><br />
<p>Chris is not only a hardworking provider, but also a devoted husband and father. Our family relies on him for support as we raise our 2-year-old son, William, and this sudden loss of income has already added emotional with impending financial strain during an already heartbreaking time. While I am doing everything I can, navigating the approaching caregiving, medical needs, all while parenting will become incredibly challenging without his ability to work.

<p>While we are grateful for medical care and insurance, the financial burden is already looking to become significant, and we truly do not know what the future holds. Funds raised will help cover:

<p>Medical bills not covered by insurance

<p>Physical therapy and rehabilitation 
</p>
<p>Rent/mortgage and utilities 
</p>
<p>Childcare and household support 
</p>
<p>Transportation to medical appointments

<div>Hey! My name is Sanaa Wright, and I’m a 4th-year Entertainment and Media Studies student at the University of Georgia. A little over a year ago, I directed a film that changed my life— I took a chance and asked people to believe in something that didn’t fully exist yet, and because of that, we were able to raise over $2,000 and bring a story to life that impacted over 40,000 people globally. More than anything, it showed me what’s possible when people believe in your work before it fully exists.

<div>I’m currently studying abroad in Mexico, where I’ve been deepening my Spanish proficiency, while immersing myself firsthand in a culture that is so often politicized or misrepresented—especially from an American perspective. This semi-surrealist film will be my first bilingual (Spanish/English) project, inspired directly by my time living here, showcasing the architecture, the atmosphere, and the way faith is lived and embedded within Mexican culture. It’s a story about morality, desire, faith, and consequence—rooted in the biblical story of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil—but told through a deeply human, modern lens. Making this film here means collaborating with people in this community, supporting local businesses, and telling a story that reflects the beauty and complexity of Mexico in a way that feels honest to my experience here. While this may be my final student film, it’s also the start of my career journey— a bridge between everything I’ve learned and everything I’m about to step into. As I prepare to graduate in May and navigate the uncertainty of this industry, I’m doing everything I can to make this project a reflection of my voice, my growth, and the stories I want to tell moving forward. But it’s not something I can do alone.
