Dejanae has endured more than 10 years of debilitating pain that went undiagnosed until 2017. Living with fibromyalgia and other chronic health challenges has made everyday life a struggle, often leaving her unable to function as a normal young adult.
Despite countless doctor visits and treatments, relief has been limited, and medications often caused difficult side effects. Yet, through it all, she has continued to press forward. While her illness has put her behind in school and in life, she is finally approaching her last semester of college, working toward her psychology degree with the dream of becoming an Applied Behavior (ABH) therapist using her journey to inspire and help others.
The Mayo Clinic Pain Management Program offers a unique, holistic approach. Through their 3-week intensive program, patients receive personalized physical therapy, occupational therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and medical support designed to improve function, reduce reliance on medications, and provide lifelong tools to manage pain. This could be the turning point Dejanae has prayed for.
Over the years, medical bills have surmounted, placing an additional burden on our family. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the Mayo Pain Management Program, which makes this opportunity even more difficult to access without outside support. Along with the program’s cost, travel and lodging for 3 weeks add to the challenge.
We are asking for your help to give Dejanae the chance to attend this program and finally gain the support and relief she so deeply needs. Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward her treatment and healing journey.
As Dejanae’s mother, I have watched her fight battles no young woman should ever have to face. I know this program could finally give her the relief and tools she deserves to live the life God intended for her.
I am grateful for any gifted amount. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for standing with us in faith and love. It truly means the world to our family.
