<div>These two beautiful tuxedo kittens were originally trapped with two others as part of a TNR effort. Once rescued, it became clear that they were friendly and had a real chance at adoption. Fortunately, they were placed with an incredible foster who is caring for all of them. Returning them to their original location is not an option, as there is an individual in the area who has threatened to poison the cats.

<div>A few days after arriving at their foster home, it became apparent that the kittens were not eating and were steadily losing weight. After a lengthy veterinary visit, the veterinarian diagnosed both kittens with upper respiratory infections and significant dental infections. They require treatment as soon as possible, but the cost of care is substantial.

Loss of a beloved Teacher

What we thought was going to be just a regular post operative appointment on December 19th, turned out to be the worst day of our life. We learned our precious Makenzie was just diagnosed with Classic Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Makenzie went from being a normal 7 year old child, to a cancer patient. Everything else the Dr. said felt like a whisper from far away. The only words I heard from then on were, intense chemo. The pokes are painful, the hospital is scary, and the whole situation is completely overwhelming for everyone.<br /><br />Makenzie has an extensive treatment plan ahead of her and more doctor's appointments than you can count! These chemotherapy treatments, doctor's visits, and the demands of caring for a very sick child are compromising. There are just not enough hours in a day for my sister to do it all!<br /><br />Her mom (my sister) Carolyn is a hard working mother. She now has the impossible task of being a full-time caretaker of a sick child- including all the hospital stays and cancer treatments, while somehow also providing for her household. Carolyn will need all the help she can get, that way her total focus remains on Makenzie. This is a battle no child should have to face without their mom, nor any mother should have to face without a strong support system.<br /><br />Our Faith and Trust in GOD has enabled us to accept the things we cannot change and assure Makenzie that her family and friends will be with her every step of the way.  Her mother has taken a non-payed leave of absence to walk this journey with Makenzie. Therefore, we have established this account to help with all Makenzies needs (medical expenses, favorite foods, clothing, things to occupy Makenzies time while sitting through chemo) and to help her mom to maintain her home. <br /><br />Anything you can contribute would mean the world to us.
