<div>On May 15th, 2025, Matthew Yellen was on his way home from the Post Office. Traveling on the logging roads in Edna Bay Alaska, Matthew lost control of his vehicle and suffered severe trauma. By the grace of God, Matthew was found quickly and the Coast Guard was summoned to administer care and flight him to Sitka. With known life threatening injuries of head trauma, severe facial fractures and lacerations with several limb fractures as well, the decision to air flight him to a trauma center became paramount. With the ticking of precious time, the urgency to decide on the closest flight team and trauma center directed Matthew to land at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska.

<div>The acute brain injury has Matthew in a coma, and unresponsive. Despite the appearance, there is a positive prognosis of regaining consciousness and receiving extensive therapy in order to return to a normal life.

<div>For Matthew, his normal life is quite extensive. Matthew is a loving man, married to Sarah and the father of their two boys, Elijah and Caleb. They moved to Edna Bay, Alaska in 2023 with plans of making a more independent life on the off grid island. As faith directed their decision, God also had a plan to bring Matthew to Pastor at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church on Edna Bay. The church had lost their previous pastor when he had passed in January of 2021.

<div>Matthew's faith is strong and we believe fervently in the power of prayer. We ask for financial help as this family weaves their way through this long process of recovery and rehabilitation. A this time, Matthew remains unconscious, a breathing tube in place and his wife and mother in prayer by his side.

<div>Beating cancer for himself and his family is Scott’s primary focus after being diagnosed with Stage 4 bladder cancer.  After experiencing some health concerns that were not going away, Scott decided it was time to get checked out.  As you can assume, the results from all the different medical tests that Scott had to undergo came back with the news no one wishes to hear.  “I am sorry, but we found some spots we need to investigate further.”  This led to more and more testing.  Over about a year and a half, Scott has had to do numerous biopsies, two cycles of chemo washes for his bladder, a plethora of other tests, and has had multiple catheters, all in hopes of beating this nuisance before it spreads.  Scott was placed on an intense diet to prepare his body for the upcoming fight.  All of this seemed to help for a short time, but it was just that.  A short-term fix which now has become a long uphill road to recovery.  As time passed, he started to see more and more issues arise.  The doctor visits began to turn from a sense that time is on our side and this is manageable to where Scott is today.  It was found that Scott’s bladder cancer had spread not just to the small surrounding area of his bladder but is now all throughout his body.  Scott is no longer fighting bladder cancer but full systemic cancer that is overtaking lymph nodes, muscle and bone and laying claim all over.  This is where Scott’s real battle begins.  Having had numerous doctors and settling in with a doctor from the Cleveland Clinic, this long journey began.  After hearing from his doctors in Cleveland and not ready to do the full-on chemo treatment that would render him unable to work for numerous months, Scott found a doctor in Mexico that had a great success rate with patients battling cancer.  There was a catch.  His insurance would not cover any of the cost for him to get the treatments out of the country.  After numerous thoughts, discussions, and, most importantly, prayer, Scott and his family decided that going to Mexico for treatment was the best option for recovery.  Although this procedure cost was extensive, Scott knew he was not just fighting for himself.  He is fighting for his family and his ability to be there and take care of them moving forward.  While 3 of his children are adults, he has five more little ones at home, including a newborn.  Let’s help give him the best odds of seeing them grow up.  Scott’s fight is not just about him.  It is about them also.

<div>It is not a hidden secret that medical costs are outrageous, and there is no light at the end of the tunnel saying it will get better anytime soon.  Medical bills will keep piling up.  Scott's visit to Mexico proved very beneficial, but there is still a long way to go.  With a long continuous road of medical treatment yet required comes along a mountain of financial strain.  The financial burden battling cancer brings in itself is daunting, to say the least.  Trying to raise five children and working dramatically less due to your cancer seems like an impassable situation.  That is the purpose of this page here today.

<div>Scott is a loving, active father to all of his children.  He is a grandfather and a husband.  His faith is amazingly strong, and his Christian values run deep.  Scott has, over the years, given so much of his heart and mind to those around him in need through mentorships and just being the ear for those that needed it.  Well, he and his family are now in need.  Let’s help Scott be able to focus his attention on his recovery.  Imagine not knowing if you should get treatment or go to work to provide for your family.  Scott would be determined to go to work to support his family and their immediate needs.  If we can come together, maybe we can take that burden away or at least diminish it.  The most crucial long-term success can be had by allowing Scott to recover and become a survivor for himself and his family.  Scott can then focus on his treatments with the peace of mind that there are finances there to help support his family along the way.

Anyone that has had the pleasure to meet Shyrl knows instantly how huge her heart is. She is willing to help anyone that needs anything, whether a hug or support. Shyrl is now requiring our assistance to help her and our family pay for funeral expenses for her younger brother, Mike who passed tragically in a motor vehicle accident yesterday. Mike leaves behind three children, Austin, Alivia, and Addison. Shyrl is not only grieving the loss of her sibling, she has the heavy burden of figuring how the expenses are going to be covered. If he is to make it through, it is likely he will sustain severe, permanent brain damage, and possible blindness. <br />I personally cannot fathom the unimaginable pain they are experiencing right now.<br /><br />So this campaign is made to help cover whatever costs they will incur over the next couple weeks. That includes Ronnie's medical bills, expenses for living, anything they could possibly need help with. Jessica runs a daycare out of her home in which she will not be able to continue while they work through this, and her husband will also need to take some time off work. This will definitely be a financial blow for them, not even considering the emotional blow. <br />Ronnie is truly a fantastic kid, and every part of this is heartbreaking for not only their family, but the people that love their family as well. They are amazing people that in no realm or dimension of reality deserve this.
