We are ARISE, a passionate team of 16 students in our final year at NAD-UQAC, working together on a deeply personal and artistic short film. As young entrepreneurs in the film industry, we are driven to create something meaningful that not only reflects our creative vision but also serves as a stepping stone toward our professional careers. After completing this film, we hope to start our own small indie studio, producing films that challenge, inspire, and entertain.
Our project tells the story of Karim, a man devastated by the loss of his sister, Mila, who tragically perished in a plane crash. The plane that took her life was one that Karim had been working on, and despite its flaws, Mila insisted on taking it to help others in need.
The film explores Karim’s journey through this profound loss, taking him on a metaphorical journey that reflects his inner turmoil. We use abstract and surreal imagery to depict his emotional struggle, navigating through depression and ultimately finding acceptance. It’s a contemplative exploration of grief, guilt, and healing.
As we approach the final stages of our project, we need your support to make this film a reality. Your donation will go toward production costs, including paying for actors, studio time, equipment, plug-ins, and other essential resources to bring our vision to life.
We are incredibly grateful for any contribution, big or small, and thank you for supporting emerging filmmakers. This film is more than just a student project — it’s the first step in our journey as professionals, and we hope it will propel us into a future of producing high-quality, meaningful films at our own indie studio.
Thank you for helping ARISE make our dream a reality!
