My son is 22 years old and has a developmental delay disorder. He has always faced challenges, but nothing could have prepared us for what we are going through now. He has been accused of a crime he did not commit. Even though there was no evidence found in court, he was still arrested and charged. Now, he is required to register as a sex offender and is currently incarcerated for a probation violation because he was unable to register. I am doing everything I can to help my son, but the legal system is overwhelming and expensive. I want to reopen his case and file for habeas corpus, but I simply do not have the money to hire a paid lawyer. The funds raised here will go directly toward hiring a lawyer and covering the legal fees needed to fight for his freedom and clear his name. It would truly mean the world to me to help my son get his life back again. It’s unfair that people have to suffer from situations like not having money for a paid lawyer—this could have been taken care of! My son’s life is not a life at all right now, but he still stands strong. Any support you can give will make a difference and bring us hope in this difficult time.
