</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please join us in supporting Michelle Kampbell on the sudden and tragic passing of her husband and Brigette's dad, Chad Kampbell.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On Friday, July 11th at 5:30pm Chad was traveling home from work for a dinner out with his daughter, sister, and niece. Tragically, he was struck head on while traveling on Highway 126 near Piru, CA.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Chad's impact on our community and the lives of everyone he stepped up to help across his career and many years as a civic activist can't be understated, but we can show our love and support by ensuring that his family are well cared for in their time of need.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As long-time friends of Chad and Michelle, we (Christy Smith, Chris &amp; Connie Werthe, Andrew Taban &amp; Brandon Zavala, have started this fundraiser to ensure the Kampbell family's needs are met. Your contributions to this fundraiser will be disbursed to Michelle to cover any unmet funeral costs, the costs of Chad's Celebration of Life, and legal expenses the family will have as they navigate this tragedy .
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please save the evening of Friday, August 15, 2025 for Chad's Celebration of Life. Details and RSVP will be published Friday, July 25th. Thank you.

Chad Kampbell's Legacy: Help Support His Family

<div>Today June 21st 2025, NARCISO BARRANCO, husband and father, whom has 3 sons who are United States Marines,
</div>
<div>was picked up by immigration officials while he was doing his landscaping job at the IHOP on Edinger and Ritchey in Santa Ana, CA. He was pepper sprayed and punched in the face multiple times by these masked and unidentified “officers” He is a good, hard working man. He has raised his family here and has established himself here. What we ALL saw today was disgusting and heart wrenching. Time after time we are seeing stories like this one. Please help the Barranco family with whatever you can to ensure he is able to receive the proper legal counsel to represent him. His son Alejandro Narcizo Barranco is currently working on getting in contact with his father. Thank you to everyone who has donated, the love and support from the community is felt. Thank you for your time and attention. God bless.

Justice for Narciso: Assaulted and detained by CBP

<div>Dear friends and family,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am raising funds on behalf of my brother Fil Brown, his wife Judy, and their son Julian who lost everything on January 7th in the Eaton Fire. My brother is a hard working, recording engineer and musician who has worked on productions in the entertainment industry for over 40 yrs. He is also one of the people I love the most and am closest to in this world. He is an amazing person, husband and father whose positive attitude through this experience has been remarkable given the fact that his community (of which he has been a part of for the last 41 years), livelihood and all his family’s worldly possessions are gone in the blink of an eye.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Along with all their belongings, my brother lost his home studio through which he does most of his personal work. My sister-in-law Judy recently retired after 30 years, and my nephew Julian who is a budding musician lost most of his equipment as well. This catastrophe has affected them greatly. As my brother and his family begin the long process of making insurance claims and negotiating life with no house, clothes or even the most basic of necessities, please join me in helping the Brown family get back on their feet.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you and much love to all affected by this unbelievable tragedy.
</div>

Help Fil and Judy Brown's Family After Devastating Fire

<div>Hi, my name is Dakar Tims. My good friend and mom have lost everything in the Eaton fire in Altadena. My family lost their home also. I'm here to help my good friend Carl Jones and his mom, and they don't know I'm doing this for them. I talked to him, and he said, <strong>I don't have nowhere to go, bro.</strong> So please, if y'all can, I would appreciate it. <strong>Help is coming, Carl Jay. Love you, Bro.</strong>

</div>

Support Carl Jones and Mom After Eaton Fire

<div>My Name is William Bigby and I am starting this Gofundme on behalf of the Weavers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please help our beloved friends Herbie, Dana and their son Logan, as they navigate the devastating aftermath of the Eaton Fire. We are reaching out to you during this profoundly difficult time because they have lost a great deal to these fires. Their home, their cherished possessions, and the familiar comfort of their daily lives have been reduced to ashes.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Dana and Herbie have opened up their home to half of the families in Altadena at one time or another. Whether it be a Stanford game, a Jack and Jill gathering or an old fashioned cookout, Dana has fed many of us! We are asking for your help. Any contribution, no matter how small will go directly towards helping them stabilize. Helping will ease the burden of the unexpected costs they are facing. We know that times are tough for so many and we are only seeing the tip of the iceberg today, but even a small contribution can make a significant impact.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Beyond the tremendous loss, the fire has taken not just their belongings, but also their sense of security and stability. It will be a long road ahead. This GoFundMe is being established to help them secure temporary housing, and replace essential items. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference. Let’s rally around this incredible family and show them the true meaning of community support during this incredibly difficult time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your generosity and compassion

<div>We are devastated at the loss of Olga Meshoe Washington and pray for her family at this time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Olga’s world changed in an instant, and so did her family’s. On her way home from visiting family in South Africa, Olga suffered an unexpected medical emergency during a layover in New Jersey. What started as a nap at the airport gate quickly turned into a life-threatening situation. Olga was rushed to the ICU and was there for a week, where doctors discovered complications from her autoimmune disease, lupus, compounded by pneumonia and other respiratory issues.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Joshua, her devoted husband, was alerted by her brother and immediately flew to be by her side. Their two young sons, ages 6 and nearly 4, are back home, waiting for their mom to get better. While family members are doing everything they can to support Joshua and the kids, this unforeseen crisis brought emotional and financial challenges that no one was prepared for.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Olga tragically passed away on January 6, 2025. She was an inspiring activist and leader, and is mourned by so many.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>With your help, we can ease some of the financial burdens so Joshua can focus on what matters most—being there for his and Olga's precious boys as they try to cope with this loss.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Let’s help this beautiful family stay strong during an unimaginably hard time. Every donation, share, and prayer makes a difference.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for commemorating the memory of a special person: Olga and for standing with Joshua, and their boys.

RIP Olga: Support Her Family Following this Tragic Loss

<div>****Update*****
</div>
<div>Hello everybody,

</div>
<div>On behalf of Ralph and our entire family, thank you so much for your generosity. It has warmed our souls during an incredibly difficult time. Of course we never anticipated so much support for Ralph, but we wanted you to know that we are working with a certified financial advisor to establish a Trust to properly receive the funds and use them for all of the original purposes we described. All funds will be used for Ralph's benefit, as his well-being and safety is our highest priority. Right now we will continue to focus on Ralph's recovery, but in the future we are considering setting up a charity.

</div>
<div>Again, thank you so much for your support.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>***Update on Ralph***
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ralph is currently at home with the family. He can ambulate and communicate. A true miracle considering what he survived.
</div>
<div>Each day is different. He has a long road ahead. However, we are very thankful that he is still here with us. I've been taking the time to read the emails and comments to Ralph. It warms our hearts to see him smile at all the kind words.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you so much for loving Ralph
</div>
<div>----------------
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On Thursday, April 13, 2023, my nephew Ralph P Yarl was on his way to pick up his twin younger brothers from their friend's house a few blocks away from his house. He didn't have his phone. He mistakenly went to the wrong house, one block away from the house where his siblings were. He pulled into the driveway and rang the doorbell. The man in the home opened the door, looked my nephew in the eye, and shot him in the head. My nephew fell to the ground, and the man shot him again. Ralph was then able to get up and run to the neighbor's house, looking for help.
</div>
<div>Unfortunately, he had to run to 3 different homes before someone finally agreed to help him after he was told to lie on the ground with his hands up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ralph Pual Yarl is a fantastic kid, and I am not just saying this because he is my nephew. He truly is. At school, he is a member of the Technology Student Association and Science Olympia Team. Jazz and competition band. He is a section leader in the marching band; a scholar and one of the top bass clarinet players in Missouri. He recently earned Missouri All-State Band recognition with an honorable mention. He plays multiple instruments in the metropolitan youth orchestra. He is a 2022 Missouri scholar academy alumni. Ralph can often be found with a musical instrument. He loves them all.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Last summer, Ralph attended Missouri Scholar’s Academy, where he got a full college life experience. His goal is to attend Texas A&amp;M to major in chemical Engineering. When asked how he plans to get into this university, he said, “Well, if they have a scholarship for music or academics, I know I can get it.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ralph's teacher and friends describe him as “ a kind soul,” “quiet,” “friendly,” “well-mannered,” “always willing to help,” “super smart,” and a “musical genius.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ralph was looking forward to graduating high school and finally getting the opportunity to visit West Africa before starting college.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Life looks a lot different right now. Even though he is doing well physically, he has a long road ahead mentally and emotionally. The trauma that he has to endure and survive is unimaginable. He is our miracle. We have heard these types of stories many times, and unfortunately, most black boys are not alive to get another chance.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Ralph deserves to have the future that he has dreams about. He deserves to be the light that shows the world that LOVE wins and that humanity is still Good.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>However, he will need a lot of help to get there. Funds from this account will be used for his medical bills and therapy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Any additional funds will be use for college expenses at Texas A&amp;M, a trip to West Africa, and other expenses.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you
</div>

Ralph Yarl

<div>Darrian Ford has been delivering soaring vocals over the last 15 years with his show The Cooke Booke, The Music of Sam Cooke . His style and dynamic ability to capture the essence of Sam Cooke have left audiences with a clear sense of knowing that this artist truly has a gift like no other. He's been on Broadway and in the first national tours of State Fair, Smokey Joe's Cafe, The Who's Tommy and The Color Purple. He is also an alumnus Alvin Ailey and Donald Byrd/The Group. Darrian co-starred opposite Halle Berry in HBO’s INTRODUCING DOROTHY DANDRIDGE as Fayard Nicholas of the legendary Nicholas Brothers. In February 2018, he gratefully released his first full-length album of original vocal Jazz, NEW STANDARDS. It debuted at #1 on the NACC Jazz Album Debut chart, and was in the Top 20 Jazz albums in the UK, 2018. Known simply as "The Entertainer," Darrian is now stepping into a new role, cancer survivor.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div><strong>Here is his statement...</strong>
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>"For more than two weeks now I've been saying to myself, "It doesn't seem real". I've had a few PSA's, a biopsy, a CT scan, additional bloodwork, consulted a radiologist, a cyber knife specialist, and going to consult a robotic surgeon. Still, "It just doesn't seem real to me." Finally I asked myself, "Darrian, what do you mean, it didn't seem real?" And a voice answered back, "oh, you wanna break down, and weep and moan. No time!" The voice was right. I have stage three prostate cancer and no time for pretending God has left the building.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>For NOW, no crying and breaking down. Trust, if and when it comes, I'm gonna lean into it. But honestly, I'm mostly, extremely grateful. Had it not been for my friend MDC impressing upon me the imperative of getting a PSA (prostate specific antigen), due to his own battle with prostate cancer, I simply would not have done so. I was 52 when got my first PSA and it was 4X higher than normal and was rising quickly.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>The recommendation for black men was 50 years old, but is now to have a PSA at 45 years old. I believed I was getting comprehensive healthcare, seeing my dr every three months for PrEp bloodwork, and having open and frank conversation about my health for years. Never said a word about it, which somehow validated my belief that because I had a colonoscopy at 50, surely they would have said something if there was a problem. Wrong! In another year or so, it could have, probably would have spread and become stage four cancer. But it didn't and I'm gon be alright! So please, please, please, friends, brothers (especially if you are black or brown, and 45 years of age) get yourself a PSA blood test immediately.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>My surgery date is April 14, 2022. If all goes well, recovery is expected to take 8-12 weeks. I know it won't be easy so I'm gonna need all the prayers. Love, Darrian, canver survivor."
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>Please donate what you can.
</div>

<div>
</div>

<div>For the next few months, these funds will go towards treatments and medical needs not covered by his insurance, integrated wholistic and nutrition intervention, and his rent and expenses while he is unable to work. Let's give him the space and time to heal without worry. Say a prayer and share this page with the rest of our community.

Darrian's cancer journey and healing.

<div>Many thanks to everyone who opened their hearts and helped us during our father's illness. He made it through the past year with his family at his side in large part thanks to your generosity. Now he is working on rebuilding his mobility and independence. He can't walk yet, but can use a wheelchair and stand with assistance. Recently he began to feel well enough to get back into reading, and has been plowing through paperback books. There are still frustrations and challenges ahead, but a good book, a good meal, and the love of family make it worth it—not to mention the profound kindness of strangers. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. xo

</p>
<p>I'm sure many of you remember the story of Hervis Rogers--a Harris County, Texas resident who waited six hours to cast a ballot at Texas Southern University during the presidential election in November 2020. Mr. Rogers, who works two jobs, arrived at the polls around 7:00PM after beginning his work day thirteen hours earlier. He eventually cast his ballot for Joe Biden around 1:00AM that night.

</p>

<p>Mr. Rogers was arrested on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at his home in the South Acres neighborhood of Houston in Attorney General Ken Paxton's multi-million dollar taxpayer funded attempt to uncover voter fraud.<br /><br />Mr. Rogers was arrested for voting in the Democratic primary 3 months before his 15 year parole was set to end. Mr. Rogers was arrested and sentenced to 25 years in prison for burglary in 1995. He was out on parole since May 20, 2004 and his parole was set to end on June 13, 2020.<br /><br />Mr. Rogers thought he was eligible to vote when he cast his ballot, which makes sense as you have to be a registered Democrat to vote in the primary!

</p>

<p>AG Paxton is prosecuting the case in Montgomery County, one of the most conservative venues in the entire state, even though Mr. Rogers lives in Harris County and cast his ballot in Harris County. The only reason Paxton brought this case in Montgomery County is because he thought it would be an easier venue in which to convict Mr. Rogers. This is a grave miscarriage of justice--something that is very familiar to Mr. Paxton, who himself is under indictment on felony security fraud charges.

</p>

<p>Judge Lisa Michalk set Mr. Rogers bail at $100,000. This is, and I can't think of another word for it, absolutely insane.

</p>

<p>I am trying to raise money to bail Mr. Rogers out of jail. He is being held on an unreasonably high bail amount that he cannot afford because he thought he was fulfilling his civic duty to vote.

</p>

<p>Please donate what you can. I will start off by donating $500.

</p>

<p>Thank you.

Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club—which promotes horse riding as an activity for inner-city Black youth—has been in existence since 2004. Since the filming of the movie began, Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club has been concerned that some portrayals depicted in the movie are based on the Club, although there has been no such attribution. During the past several weeks, the Club’s founder and Director, Ellis Ferrell, has been contacted by several sources who assumed that the film was based on his true life experiences. This is not the first time there has been such confusion. Previously, representatives of the City of Philadelphia advised the Club that another organization had applied for the use of city land, causing confusion and potential delay. The filmmakers have created a non-profit organization that has initiated a Go Fund Me campaign to raise money for a new stable. Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club believes that the public will perceive that the funds raised will be for the Club and fears that this campaign will detract from its efforts to raise funds for its own permanent home and siphon potential funds from its independent initiatives. The Club hopes that the filmmakers clear the record for the public and give credit to the iconic Fletcher Street Riding Club for the pre-existing and long-term contributions it has made to Black youth by fostering horse riding as a productive and community-building activity.<br /><br />                                                                                                                 “El-Dog”<br /><br /><iframe media_type="0" media_id="OFpvxUhoWNo" class="youtube-replace" title="YouTube video player" style="margin-bottom:20px;width:560px;height:315px;" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/OFpvxUhoWNo/?rel=0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="1"></iframe><br />Directed by Ken McFarlane <a href="http://www.kenmcfarlanephoto.com">www.kenmcfarlanephoto.com</a></strong><br /><strong> Cinematography by Taj DeVore <a href="http://www.tajdevorebey.com">www.tajdevorebey.com </a><br /><br /><br />Website: <a href="http://www.fsurc.com">www.fsurc.com</a><br />gofundme: <a href="https://gofund.me/410abb9a" target="_blank" class="" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">https://gofund.me/410abb9a</a><br />Instagram: @fletcherstreeturbanridingclub<br />Facebook: fletcher street riding club<br />                         Friends of Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club<br /><br />Introduction to the Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club &amp; El Dog: </strong>Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Ellis “El-Dog” Ferrell in 2004. Ellis founded the Club as a way to connect his love of horses with his love for children and his community. Ellis has remained the Club President for decades, and is one of the most respected horsemen in Philadelphia history. He has dedicated his life to teaching others to ride horses. Although Club funds have always been limited, and facilities a work in progress, El Dog and the Club have been there for the children of North Philly every day. Philadelphia has a rich riding history, some of which is profiled in the movie Concrete Cowboy. Fletcher Street itself has been a place for Black horsemen in Philadelphia for over 100 years. Collectively referred to as the Fletcher Street Stables, Fletcher Street is home to several historical barns that board privately owned horses. Currently, the Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club is asking for continued support for our mission: to provide FREE access to horses and riding instruction for ANY PERSON willing to learn. With gentrification rapidly changing the landscape of North Philadelphia, the future of the Club is uncertain. Our goal is to ensure the Club remains a fixture in this neighborhood and the lives of this neighborhood’s children. We are committed to providing unique and enriching experiences and a safe space for all children, particularly those in North Philly. What Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club has contributed to Philadelphia’s culture and history is an invaluable resource. Horses uplift. We are working to ensure a place in the future of Philadelphia: permanent land and financial support. Your support could make a huge difference in the lives of many children.<br /><strong><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />OFFICIAL GOFUNDME PAGE FOR FLETCHER STREET URBAN RIDING CLUB (FSURC).</strong><br /><br />The Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club evolved from a century-long tradition of Urban Black Cowboys in the ‘City of Brotherly Love’ and one man’s commitment to provide horsemanship experience in the inner-city.<br /><br />Our stable is located in the Strawberry Mansion neighborhood of North Philadelphia. The 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, founded by Ellis Ferrell (82 years young), remains true to its mission in producing an alternative to outdoor leisure activity to the community and engaging urban youth in equestrian sports while teaching life skills, instilling discipline and promoting academic excellence.<br /><br />In recent years, Ellis has struggled to keep his vision alive due to the lack of funding, he uses his pension to care for the horses and his property on Fletcher Street. This hindering factor, is a dis-service to many children in the community. Ellis shares pride in children learning life lessons through the equestrian world, especially those children who have never had the opportunity to ride a horse. <br /><br />We need the community's help to ensure Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club has a place in the future of our city. <br /><br />All funds raised will go directly to the horses and future of the club!<br /><br />Donations will be used for:<br />- Horse feed, hay, grooming / care supplies (So. Much. Hay.)<br />- Medical costs for our horse family (Ellis has rescued horses his entire life) <br />- Transportation (horses in the back) <br />- Building materials (repairs, wood for stalls / fences)<br />- Gardening supplies (new projects) <br />- Documentary film project 100% filmed by Ellis and the club <br /> <br />Please stay tuned, and reach out for questions and community building!<br />Our instagram is brand new: @fletcherstreeturbanridingclub - we will be posting all things FSURC there. <br /><br />Thank you for your generous support!<br /><br />Sincerely, <br />Ellis Ferrell and Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club<br /> <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/49022660_1592846108724055_r.jpeg" alt="49022660_1592846108724055_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/49022660_1592846888255543_r.jpeg" alt="49022660_1592846888255543_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/49022660_1592846208187148_r.jpeg" alt="49022660_1592846208187148_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/49022660_1592846850619928_r.jpeg" alt="49022660_1592846850619928_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

Help FSURC Get Back In The saddle!

Dear friends and colleagues,<br /><br />Last weekend while playing a church gig, our friend Herman Jackson started feeling ill, was taken to the ER, and diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. They immediately performed surgery to release the fluid from around his heart and put him on a respirator. <br /><br />He is now unable to work, facing large medical bills, extensive post-operative nursing care, and will need life essentials such as rent, utilities, and groceries.<br /><br />Please join me in donating to Herman by helping him get healthy and back on his feet. Any amount contributed will be greatly appreciated. <br /><br />Much gratitude,<br />Rickey Minor

Hello everyone. I’m sure a lot of you are familiar with Jude. Jude was diagnosed with congenital heart disease when I was 26 weeks pregnant with him. His diagnosis is critical aortic stenosis &amp; mitral regurgitation with an intact atrial septum. This combination of defects means that his heart is not supplying blood through his body the way it should. This news was devastating and we were not given a good outcome. At one point we were asked to terminate the pregnancy, and we were also told the he might not survive the pregnancy.  We began seeing a cardiologist at UVA hospital who has been nothing short of amazing. He eventually contacted doctors in Boston, MA to discuss an intrauterine procedure called aortic valvuloplasty. In short, they would place a balloon in his aortic valve to open it and promote better blood flow. We went to Boston in April and did the procedure. It was scary and had a lot of risks but we knew we had to try. It was successful but unfortunately didn’t show a lot of improvement during the weeks to follow. Jude continued to grow in utero despite restricted blood flow. Unfortunately I was diagnosed with preeclampsia at 37 weeks. I ended up delivering Jude via c-section just a few days later due to high blood pressures. Jude came out screaming and ready to fight. Jude is now 3 days old and has already had a roller coaster experience with life. He had two catheter procedures done at two days old, and unfortunately one of the procedures made his situation a little worse. We’ve had some good news and a lot of bad. Jude’s current state is that he is on a ventilator, he is not able to eat or be completely awake. He is stable but his doctors don’t know how long that will last. We’ve been told that is would be in his best interest to be added to the heart transplant list just in case things were to go that way. Steven and I have officially given permission and signed forms to do so.  Jude is receiving all of his care at UVA which is almost two hours away from our home.  We don’t know what the future holds, but we know this is going to stress us not only emotionally &amp; physically but also financially. The last thing that Steven and I wanted to do was to ask for help, but we understand now just how serious this is. Steven and I have worked very hard to be able to have a family and it is so hard to see our baby in the position he is in. Any funds will help us with gas, food costs, housing costs, and everything else that keeps us afloat. We ask that you read our story and pass it along. We are grateful for anything that is given to us.

If you knew Terry, you loved him. <br />He was just that kind of person. His huge heart, smile, and sense of humor touched so many people. We are all shocked by what has happened. God needed more angels up there. He took him from us way too soon. Please help his family put him to rest. <br />Every little bit helps.
