What they care about

Just too soft for all of it 🫶🏼

Our favorite mirrorball: Lindsay. “And when she breaks, it's in a million pieces.” - Taylor Swift, Mirrorball Since April 2023, Lindsay has endured an unimaginable series of losses: * A house fire that took her home and two beloved pets * The loss of her father-in-law * The loss of both grandparents in a tragic car accident * And then, a one-in-a-million cancer diagnosis In July 2024, Lindsay received a diagnosis of Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma, an extremely rare and aggressive cancer that affects roughly 1 in a million people each year—about 200 people in the U.S. annually. Because of how rare this cancer is, treatment options are limited. For almost 2 years, Lindsay has had to travel every three months from Missouri to Houston, TX to MD Anderson Cancer Center—the only facility equipped to treat her condition. These trips, along with scans, labs, and specialist visits, are out of network, making insurance coverage inconsistent and often denied during her years-long Great War with insurance. Travel expenses are also not covered by insurance, and the bills have been adding up. Some of you may know that Lindsay is self-employed as a therapist, therefore she does not get sick-time, PTO, FMLA, Short-term disability, etc. As she puts it, "if I don't work- I don't get paid". In 2026, Lindsay began a clinical trial, offering a new path forward—but one that requires weekly travel from Missouri to Washington DC for treatment. While there is hope that visits may become less frequent if the treatment proves effective, the financial and physical demands right now are significant. If only she could be "just like Leo in Saint Tropez." Through all of this, Lindsay continues to work and care for her therapy clients, showing up with the same dedication and heart she always has. At the same time, she has quietly made sacrifices—selling much of her beloved Taylor Swift collection just to help cover mounting medical costs. It’s the kind of chapter that feels impossible to write—but she keeps her side of the street clean because karma is a god taking her to the summit. Lindsay has carried this burden with grace, strength, and a determination to keep going, but should not have to do it, even "with a broken heart". And this is where we can step in. Funds raised will help cover: * Out-of-network medical expenses * Weekly travel to Washington DC for clinical trial treatment * Lodging and transportation costs * Everyday living expenses as she balances treatment and work Any amount makes a meaningful difference. And if you can't donate, sharing Lindsay's story helps more than you know! Lindsay lights up at the mere mention of her loved ones- her adorable 11 year old son Elliot, her supportive husband Greg, as well as her dog Mari, and her sweet kitties Lucy and Livvy. Our goal is to take some of the financial burden off of her so she can stay strong and focus on what matters- being here tomorrow with her loved ones. She has always been someone who shows up for others. She's always been the first to say "how can I help" - and now it’s our turn to show up for her. Catastrophic blues aren’t aways easy to do—but, with the right support, there is still so much hope ahead for her to live long…and long live. Let’s show her she’s not on her own and never has been! Also, if you're not a Swiftie, anything in Italics is a reference to a Taylor Swift lyric, just ask and we'll send you a life-changing playlist!
