My name is Peter, and I’m a veteran who has always worked hard to support myself. After COVID hit, my company fell apart, and I found myself unable to keep up with my bills. I lost my place to live and ended up living in my car, trying to make the best of a difficult situation. Recently, things became even more challenging when my car broke down, leaving me without a place to sleep or a way to get around. I’m reaching out for help because I want to get back on my feet. The money raised will help me relocate to a more stable environment, get a reliable vehicle, and secure a place to live. I am a veteran, and for the past three months, my fiancée and I have been homeless, living in our car. She is a survivor of domestic violence, and we created a bond when we met after she was evicted from her home due to abuse. I lost my job, and together we had to leave the place we were living. Because we're not married, social services have refused to help us, leaving us with no support and nowhere to turn. We have no gas, no money for food, and can't even keep our clothes clean. Most of our belongings were lost, and every day feels like utter misery and depression. The struggle to survive is overwhelming, and the hope of finding a way out keeps us going. Living on Long Island, New York, has made it impossible to get ahead, and we are desperate for a fresh start. Any contributions would make a huge difference in our lives right now. Immediate help would go toward gas, food, and shelter. Our ultimate goal is to raise enough money to get to Texas, where we could afford to start over. Please, any help would be amazing.
