<div>On November 21st, the Luna family received heartbreaking news: <strong>Their 15-year-old son, Malachi, has been diagnosed with a rare and advanced Stage 4 colon cancer.</strong> His current medical team has never encountered this type of cancer in a child and is unable to determine the best treatment plan for him.

<div>After hearing recommendations about the cancer treatment centers in Texas, Malachi’s parents, Rikki and Matt Luna, reached out to MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Houston area. The specialists there are willing to review Malachi’s unique case and explore treatment options.

<div>However, pursuing treatment at MD Anderson comes with significant financial challenges. Since Kaiser and MD Anderson do not have a partnership, the necessary treatments won’t be covered by insurance, leaving the family to shoulder an overwhelming financial burden.

<div>On March 10, 2022, we were sent to the ER due to Tristin’s right eye swelling. We received news that he had a mass the size of an egg located in his naval cavity &amp; behind His eye, which also spread to his lymph nodes that are metastatic. That same night we were transported to UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital.

<div>On March 11, 2022, Tristin started his initial testing of CT scans, PET scan, MRI and surgery to obtain a biopsy from his nasal cavity. That evening my family and I have received the most devastating news that NO Parent wants to ever hear…and that is that your child has cancer. My son Tristin is 16 years old. 16! He’s a healthy and happy 16-year-old boy, and he was diagnosed with cancer.

Tristin's Fight Against Cancer

Dear All, <br /><br />My name is Lisette and I am Christopher Samuels sister-in-law.  My family and I are deeply saddened to share the news of Christopher Samuels passing on July 30th, 2020 at just 34 years old. He will be missed immensely and our hearts are broken without him here.<br /><br />We cherish our memories of him always making others laugh, having a huge heart, and loving his family very much. Every person’s life he touched knew he was incredibly funny, generous, and the best cook. He enjoyed skydiving, traveling with his wife, flying drones, and photography. <br /><br />He leaves behind his wife, Charlotte who is currently 7 months pregnant with his baby boy, his 6-year-old son, Dallas, his parents, Lauri and Chris, and his sister, Jordi. All who love him dearly.   <br /><br />Our family was not prepared financially for this hardship as his passing was very unexpected. We would greatly appreciate any donations towards his services. We prepare for life's unexpected moments, but some moments are hard to even imagine, let alone prepare for! Adam Stell, son to Dan Stell and Brenda Knott-Birchall, passed away suddenly today in his home at the tender age of 28. Having spent Christmas surrounded by friends and family just two days prior with no signs of illness, Adam's sudden passing comes as a great shock to us all. As no parent would expect it, Dan and Brenda were not prepared to have to bury their child. Although it will take some time to get clear answers as to what caused this, Adam's family needs immediate help in preparing and placing his soul to rest. We are therefore reaching out to anyone that is able to assist the Stell family in any way, to lay their son Adam to rest. Adam Stell Burial Expenses

I am posting this on behalf of my little brother, Daniel Lopez. Today, he has started his first chemo treatment for an extremely rare disease called Bilineal Leukemia. Prior to a few days ago, he felt as healthy and invincible as most 25 year old guys feel. Today, he is fighting for his life.<br /><br />Initially, Daniel went to the hospital with a fever of 103.4F. The nurse drew his blood and the doctor prescribed him antibiotics for pneumonia and sent him home. The following morning, Daniel received a call from his doctor stating that he had reviewed Daniel’s lab report and that Daniel needed to go to the emergency room to get a blood transfusion immediately.<br /><br />After being admitted to the emergency room and undergoing a series of blood tests, his doctor stated that at 6pm he needed to meet with Daniel and his family to discuss the preliminary results. At this point, all we knew was that Daniel had pneumonia. That evening, to our horror, the doctor expressed that he was 90% confident that Daniel had Acute Lymphobalistic Leukemia (ALL), but that he was still awaiting the final lab results.<br /><br />The following day the doctor informed us that, unfortunately, he had more bad news. The results confirmed that Daniel indeed has ALL, but it was also confirmed that he is concurrently suffering from another form of Leukemia called Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). The doctor called it the “Two Headed Monster”. Given his rare diagnosis, Daniel is undergoing a highly potent form of chemotherapy and once he is in remission, he will require a bone marrow transplant.<br /><br />The great news is that we have God on our side and family and friends like you helping Daniel to fight this battle. According to his doctors, he will be unable to work for an extended period of time. On August 31, 2014, Daniel will turn 26 and he will no longer be covered under his father’s current medical insurance which presently allows him coverage without paying a very high premium. Our family is willing to do anything and literally everything to help Daniel in his fight to beat this. Any money that we can raise on Daniel’s behalf will go towards helping him pay for his college loans from UC Davis, his mortgage on his new home and any future medical expenses.
