<div>An Open Letter to the Public
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>from Dr. Magnus Q. Thawne, PhD*, MSc**, Esq.***
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Hello Friends, Visionaries, and People with Surprisingly Flexible Ethics,
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>My name is Dr. Magnus Q. Thawne, and I am here today to ask for your support in what I can only describe as a completely benign, entirely philanthropic, and definitely-not-about-the-ice global initiative.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Let me be absolutely clear from the outset: this project is not about melting glaciers.
</div>
<div>Any resemblance to glacier melting—past, present, or future—is purely coincidental, speculative, or the result of malicious interpretation by people who “ask questions.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Who am I to Ask This of You?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>An excellent question, hypothetical donor.
</div>
<div>I received my early academic training at the Wuhan Institute for Virology, where I developed a lifelong appreciation for safety protocols, windowless rooms, and saying “this is very preliminary” with a straight face. I later completed an internship testing rabies vaccines on sharks during what historians now call The Summer of the Shark—a formative experience that taught me two key lessons:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Sharks do not like needles.
</div>
<div>Data integrity is a state of mind.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Professionally, I am a data scientist, which means I can generate compelling graphs that suggest inevitability, destiny, or at minimum, “strong correlations.” I have also consulted on projects ranging from geo-optimization to large-scale environmental persuasion to hypothetical planetary-scale heat redistribution (purely academic).
</div>
<div>I assure you: I am qualified.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What Is the Project Actually About?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At its core, this is a project about reflectivity, energy redirection, and water management.
</div>
<div>If those words happen to make you picture large frozen landmasses behaving differently than they do now, please clear your browser cache and continue reading.
</div>
<div>To encourage transparency, I am offering tiered funding goals, each one more ambitious than the last—though all of them, again, are totally unrelated to ice.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Funding Goals
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Tier One: “Surface Enhancement”
</div>
<div>Goal: Modest
</div>
<div>This phase focuses on coating certain underappreciated surfaces with cutting-edge nanoparticles to “study albedo effects.” That’s science-talk for learning, not changing anything. If those surfaces happen to be white, reflective, and located near the poles, that is simply where the data lives.
</div>
<div>Nothing melts at this stage. Nothing at all.
</div>
<div>Please stop asking.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>☀️ Tier Two: “Orbital Synergy Initiative”
</div>
<div>Goal: Aspirational
</div>
<div>At this level, we explore solar-powered, low-orbit assets working together in harmony. Think constellations, coordination, and connectivity. Think Starlink, but with a stronger emphasis on focus.
</div>
<div>These assets may or may not emit tightly organized enthusiasm in the direction of Earth.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>They are not lasers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And even if they were, they would be very polite lasers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>⚛️ Tier Three: “Integrated Thermal &amp; Hydrological Vision”
</div>
<div>Goal: Transformative (Do Not Tell Anyone)
</div>
<div>This final phase investigates compact nuclear energy sources paired with tastefully designed canal systems to “improve runoff efficiency.” Runoff from what, you ask?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Weather. Just… weather.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This tier is about resilience, adaptation, and moving water from one place to another in a very intentional way. If that water used to be frozen, that is merely an anecdote.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Why Crowdfunding?
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Because traditional institutions keep using words like “no,” “illegal,” and “we’ve talked about this before.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Crowdfunding, on the other hand, believes in dreams, plausible deniability, and stretch goals.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Final Thoughts
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>I am not a mad scientist.
</div>
<div>I am simply a scientist with ambition, a questionable résumé, and a vision for a slightly less frozen tomorrow—which, again, is not the point of this project.
</div>
<div>If you believe in innovation, progress, and not reading the fine print too closely, I invite you to support this initiative.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Warm regards (figuratively),
</div>

See that beautiful woman on the right? Can you spy her dazzling smile? I regret to inform you that it’s in danger and she’s in some serious pain. Our wonderful friend, Virginia, needs not just one, but two root canals. The infection is severe, so it’s important she gets the procedures done as soon as possible. The medical bills will be $4,000+. After a devastating dog attack on her beloved pup, Bandit (who fortunately survived) and being hit by a drunk driver and still not being reimbursed months after the accident, there is no money left over to cover V’s own medical expenses and left her credit in shambles so she is unable to take out an emergency loan. She doesn’t want to ask for help, but I can see how much she is suffering. Please please help V if you are able to any amount is appreciated. Bless you!

<strong>Help us to give opportunity to the next generation of great game developers!</strong><br /><br />Since 2011, the members of Aurora Game Development Club (AGDC) have been dedicating their time outside of the college classroom to practice their skills and develop their craft of making games! In order to further these rising stars' chance of breaking into the game development field professionally, we have started the AGDC Game Development Conference Scholarship fund. <br /><br />Your donation will help send students to the largest professional game development conference in the world, and give them a chance to network and interview with some of the largest names/companies in the industry. Help us to meet our goal of financially assisting at least 4 students to attend this year's Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, CA in March by donating and/or sharing this campaign.<br /><br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><strong><br />About Aurora Game Development Club </strong> <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/36358682_1547953014604284_r.jpeg" alt="36358682_1547953014604284_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />-AGDC at DreamHack 2018 <br /><br />AGDC was originally started on the campus of Georgia Southern University in 2011 as a club that college students could gather to discuss and develop video games. Very quickly, the club realized that the most valuable thing it offered was a space where its members could not only make games, but practice teamwork and develop professional skills in a way that the classroom is not most conducive to. <br /><br />Over the years, AGDC has grown to establish 3 total chapters, including the aforementioned Georgia Southern University, as well as Georgia State University and Eastern Kentucky University and has had the pleasure of playing a part in the development of over 100 students' lives! We continue to help our members make a smoother transition from the classroom to the workplace by keeping an unwavering focus on living up to our mission statement:<br /><br />Aurora Game Development Club exists to aid in the professional development of its members by providing opportunities to network, gain work experience, and learn about the game development process and industry.<br /><br />This mission statement executed by facilitating extracurricular game projects, featuring professional game developers as guest speakers to provide insights on the professional world and how to prepare for it, and open doors for the students to meet and network with professional game developers and recruiters at professional events, such as GDC!<br /><br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br /><strong>So what is GDC? </strong> <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/36358682_1547953049993974_r.jpeg" alt="36358682_1547953049993974_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />-GDC is the largest professional game development conference in the world <br /><br />As stated on <a href="https://gdconf.com/about">the GDC website</a>: "The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is the world's largest professional game industry event.<br /><br />GDC brings together 28,000 attendees to exchange ideas and shape the future of the industry with five days of education, inspiration, and networking at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco.<br /><br />Attendees include programmers, artists, producers, game designers, audio professionals, business decision-makers and others involved in the development of interactive games and immersive experiences."  <br /><br />This conference has proven to be one of the best opportunities for game developers to learn from and network with each other, and provide leads to job opportunities. A few of our alumni even got their start in the industry from leads developed at this very conference!<br /><br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br /><strong>Where will money go?</strong> <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/36358682_1547953102796562_r.jpeg" alt="36358682_1547953102796562_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />-Approximate cost to attend GDC: <br />$500 - Travel <br />$700 - Hotel ($350/night, 2 nights) <br />$299 - Conference Pass <br />$150 - Food ($50/day) <br />$100 - Miscellaneous (Business cards, resumé printing, etc.) <br />=$1749 for a 3-day trip of a lifetime :)<br /><br />As you can imagine, being on a college budget can make such an expense quite difficult. This is why we have started this scholarship fund - to help supplement a select few students' savings so that they can participate in this life-changing opportunity.<br /><br /><strong>All funds raised will go directly towards helping the students prepare for and attend GDC 2019.</strong> This scholarship <strong>will not</strong> be an all expense paid trip for the students, but rather a financial aid to cover the cost of attending. This will allow us to help as many qualifying students as possible to attend the event. We fully intend to allocate the funds as broken down in the graphic above. <br /><br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br /><strong>How will the scholarship recipients be selected?</strong><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/36358682_1547953171597114_r.jpeg" alt="36358682_1547953171597114_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />-AGDC exhibiting games they developed at West Virginia Game Developers Expo<br />  <br />Recipients will be selected based on various factors, including a letter of intent, letter of recommendation from fellow AGDC club members, portfolio and more. Once a recipient has been selected, their financial need will be allocated, and then the process will be repeated until the scholarship fund has been exhausted. <strong>Every dollar with help these young developers build towards their futures! </strong><br /><br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------<br /><br />To see some of the amazing games that our members have created, check out <a href="https://itch.io/c/420268/dreamhack-2018">this collection</a>  on <a href="https://itch.io/c/420268/dreamhack-2018">itch.io</a>! <br /><br />To find out more about Aurora Game Development Club, <a href="http://www.auroragdc.com/about.html">visit our website</a>.<br /><br />To contact us with questions about the scholarship, how to get involved with AGDC, or starting a chapter, drop us a line in the comments.<br /><br /><strong>Thank you so much for your help and support!</strong>

She is 30 years old, a mother to Jaden, her 12 year old daughter. Jannah is also a daughter, granddaughter, sister, cousin, niece, girlfriend, and friend. Jannah is greatly loved and admired by many. She has a quirky sense of humor,  a quick wit, a kind and gentle heart. She's vibrant, intelligent, generous, stubborn and bold. Jannah has recently been told she has Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer. She could choose to give into the fear, the anxiety and uncertainty. She could swallow the endless barrage of statistics, odds and numbers, along with a heaping dose of chemotherapy medications, and radiation. However, Jannah has chosen to seek alternative treatments and therapies via the natural path to wellness. She's been diligently researching, listening to, and reading up on stories of survivors who chose to seek other ways to combat this awful disease. Jannah is inspired and encouraged by the lengthy list of all-natural healing options and methods that are available. The expense is still real! This is why we (TEAM JANNAH) are reaching out to all of you, and asking you to join us in supporting Jannah's journey to victory over CANCER!!! We believe in the power of prayer, encouragment, and positivity. We believe that every small or large donation will be appreciated beyond words. We believe in Jannah's brave and courageous spirit!!! SHE CAN WIN THIS FIGHT!!!!! Thank you all for joining us as we make her battle known and share her story with as many people as we all can!
