Hello, my name is Doreen, and I am reaching out to our family and friends in Elmont, New York; Detroit; South Carolina; North Carolina; Alabama; and everywhere connected to our family. Many of us know and love Tangerae “Tangy” McGhee as our cousin, friend, loved one, and so much more. With heavy hearts, we are asking for support after the tragic loss of 13-year-old Kaleb McGhee, Tangy’s beloved son. Kaleb tragically drowned at such a young age, leaving his family facing an unimaginable heartbreak. We are trying to navigate the pain of losing someone who brought so much light, laughter, and love into our lives. Kaleb had a smile that could brighten any room. He loved to joke, play around, and lift people’s spirits whenever they were feeling down. Some of our favorite memories are of laughing with him and watching him bring joy to everyone around him. He was full of energy, kindness, and compassion, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew and loved him. As we grieve this devastating loss, we are asking for help with funeral and memorial expenses, as well as any financial stress the family is facing during this difficult time. Tangy never expected to have to lay her baby boy to rest. No one could have imagined a tragedy like this happening, and our hearts are broken beyond words. Kaleb would not want us to only sit in sadness. He would want us to celebrate his life, remember the joy he brought us, and keep his name alive. Any support means more than words can express.
