<div>The challenge is the steep 35.5 km hike, ascending 3925m while adapting quickly to extreme altitude and decreased air pressure. Acute Mountain Sickness can set in due to decreased partial pressure of oxygen (PO2) at high altitudes. It’s 69% of what we normally experience at sea level, resulting in a lower arterial oxygen saturation. <div>We are The Mountain is Us—a collective of women from across the world taking on bold physical challenges to inspire change, within ourselves and in the communities we connect with.

<div><strong>Last year</strong>, we climbed <strong>Kilimanjaro in 46 hours</strong>, setting out not to break records for glory—but to prove that we are all capable of far more than we think, and to give back in the process. None of us are professional athletes—just ordinary women doing extraordinary things.

<div><strong>This year</strong>, our journey continues <strong>in Mexico</strong>, where we will climb <strong>three</strong> of the country’s <strong>highest volcanoes</strong> in just 6 days:

<div>For each challenge, we partner with a grassroots organization in the host country. In Mexico, we are proud to support<strong><em> Más Sueños A.C.</em></strong>, a feminist civil association based in Mexico City.

<div>Más Sueños <strong>empowers girls, women, and the LGBTIQ+ community </strong>exposed to violence and inequality. Through <strong>soccer, education, and psychological support</strong>, they create <strong>safe, inclusive spaces </strong>where young people can <strong>grow, heal, and imagine bold futures for themselves.</strong>

</li>
<li><strong>Workshops</strong> on sexual health, gender equality, and human rights
</li>
<li><strong>Training</strong> for youth and adults on healthy relationships
