<p>Update 17/4 - Belle had her oncology appointment yesterday, this was just the consultation. 
</p><br />
<p>They went through absolutley everything history, mass cell tumours, belles case and possible costs of treating in different ways. 
</p><br />
<p>I am waiting for all in information in a report along with the costs so we can decide what to do for her, chemotherapy is possibly the way to go as surgery is a lot for belle and with the tumour being high grade and where its sitting they dont think they can get it all the way it is at the mom 
</p>

<p>Chemo therapy can be done with injections and oral medication and scans, bloods regular appointments would be needed to check her progress.

<p>Update on Belle 15/04 - she is doing very well on steriods and not showing any signs of pain.

<p>I am going to take her to the consultation appointment on Tuesday and see about the oncology treatment with costs etc..

<p>Hi my name is Alison and I have a beautiful staffy called Belle. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>She has been diagnosed with a large mass cell tumour which is sitting behind her shoulder and under armpit. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>So far we have high pain management and she has just started steriods which I'm hoping helps for now. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>Her pain has been reduced significantly but due to the size and where it is she is in some discomfort. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>Belle will need to see an oncologist and we can get her an urgent appointment next week but the costs are huge for this. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>My specialist gave me an approximate cost if we go down the root of Chemotherapy to help shrink this tumour and give her better quality of life, which is £800 for first appointment with blood works etc.. 
</p>
<p>£550 injection of chemo, £350/400 a month for chemo medication, plus further C.T scans and bloodwork to monitor the progress. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>I don't have insurance anymore due to the high monthly costs as Belle previously had nephritis and was hospitalised for a week and kidney disease which I used insurance for. 
</p>
<p>Also the monthly costs for her renal food is extremely high, along with blood tests to keep an eye on her kidneys. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>Last year we had a tumour removed which I paid £5500 and for this time round I've already paid out £3300 last week. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>I unfortunately can't afford to take Belle to the next stage with oncology and would like to ask for help if possible with the cost for her please 
</p><br /><br />
<p>This isn't something I'd ever dream of doing but she is my baby and I want to try whatever I can to get her as comfortable as possible and here for longer. 
</p><br /><br />
<p>I will be fully transparent with all costs and will post all the receipts on my Instagram page to show each payment I have made so far and will make if we get the chance to go with the oncology appointment.

<div>First of all I must add it has taken a lot of me to set this up, however under the circumstances I have been left with no choice , after seeing Veterinary Specialist Mike Guilliard on Monday 12th February 2024.

<div>the only other option was to put her to sleep and at the tender age of 10 months old, we feel that she simply hasn't lived enough yet but we need your help.

<div>Her specialist is very positive in Ayda leading a normal life in future, With this specialised surgery on both knees to support the devastating diagnosis of Cruciate Disease.

<div>Just The surgery alone is a cost of 6k, that is without any aftercare or future appointment &amp; scans.

<div>So far we have already spent a substantial amount getting to this point and getting this diagnosis , we have had various appointments and scans in other clinics.

<div>As Ayda is an XL bully, we struggled from the time of purchase to secure insurance for her, as you can imagine, this diagnosis has floored us. It is every pets worse nightmare.

Ayda’s operation

<img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/57099883_1621600943937307_r.jpeg" alt="57099883_1621600943937307_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />On 29th April 2021 our world fell apart when our gorgeous 12 year old son George was rushed to Addenbrookes hospital with a brain tumour.  <br /><br />George is our bright, inquisitive and sensitive middle child.  George is the younger brother of Jamie who is 16, and the proud, protective big brother to Isabella (Issy) who is just 19 months younger than him.  Our family fondly refers to George as 'Gorgeous George' as he's so caring beyond his years and gorgeous inside and out. <br /><br />George had been struggling with bad headaches for three weeks, and occasional sickness - we had been up to A&amp;E with him on several occasions and also had doctors and opticians appointments.  We expressed our fear of a brain tumour and were relieved each time we were told it was Migraines, but a routine MRI would be booked to ensure this. <br /><br />At the MRI a substantial brain tumour was found, and George and I were taken to Addenbrookes by ambulance that evening.  George's amazing surgeon &amp; his team operated to remove as much of the tumour as they could the following week on 6th May.  We felt REALLY positive as the tumour was in an extremely difficult location, and the surgeon managed to remove around 99% of it - so we were filled with hope and positivity about the future.  George recovered amazingly from the 10 hour surgery - we are so proud of his bravery. <br /><br />We returned to Addenbrookes on 19th May for the results of the histology of the tumour and once again our world came crashing down around us.  George has an aggressive brain tumour called a Glioblastoma.  We were told it was not good news, this type of tumour is more commonly found in adults and there was no cure.  We were told Radiotherapy would help to hold it at bay, but to go and enjoy our time with George as there is no cure.  I will never ever be able to describe the dark place that myself and my husband were in that day, broken does not even come close. <br /><br />We don't want George to be aware of the seriousness of his situation, he simply knows he needs some more treatment for what's left behind.  We don't want to ruin his hugely positive outlook - he's already told my aunt that he will beat this as he's so strong.  We also have to remain strong and positive for our gorgeous boy. <br /><br />Along with our amazing family and close friends, we've been researching and there ARE other alternative treatment options available for George, they are just not in this country so we are raising as much as we possibly can as the financial cost is high.<br /><br />We are raising money to help save George with an alternative treatment at a pioneering centre abroad, even if it only gives us a bit longer with our beautiful boy.  We always have to have HOPE and we appreciate you reading this and anything you can do to help our family no matter how big or small. <br /><br />With love and hope, <br /><br />Louise &amp; Matt <br />Jamie, George &amp; Isabella

Gorgeous George One Big Fight

I am fundraising to help Preen pay for van repairs (and hire while it’s fixed) so they can continue providing furniture to clients in need during lockdown. <br /><br /><font color="#333333"><span>Our van is our most important piece of equipment. We have invested in a good one but (with only a month to go until it’s paid for) it has been damaged and now can’t be driven. For those who understand mechanics - </span></font>a part of the EGR valve has sheared off and ricocheted into the turbo unit. It’s going to cost £2500. For best value we got two garages to look at it - this is the best option. <br /><br />We have no choice but to fix it - we need it now to deliver furniture, van hire is £100 a day - and it is still worth fixing. <br /><br />Under normal circumstances we could cover this without too much struggle but the lockdowns are killing our income generation and we are haemorrhaging money paying the bills that don’t stop.  <br /><br />I’m so grateful to everyone who has offered to chip in and help already.  Honestly - I couldn’t run this project without all the lovely people round here who step in and help when we’re struggling. Help repair Preen’s poorly van
