<div>The financial weight of Luz’s illness has devastated her family. They are currently homeless and living in a shelter, all while watching their little girl live with severe pain from cancer.

<div>The treatment currently available to her has not been enough, and her family desperately needs access to specialized doctors and more advanced care that may give Luz the best possible chance at protecting her health and mobility.

Her condition has become so serious that she desperately needs access to specialist doctors, cancer care, rehabilitation, and therapies that may give her the best possible chance of protecting her legs and eventually regaining as much strength and mobility as possible.

Save Luz from losing her legs to cancer & being homeless!

<div>In the early hours of Saturday, February 1st, four young lives were tragically lost in a devastating car accident on Magdalen Street, Colchester. <strong>Makyle Bayley (22), Eva Darold-Tchikaya (21), Anthony Hibbert (24), and Daljang Wol (22)</strong> were all students at the University of Essex, known and loved by their friends, teammates, and the wider university community.

<div>This heartbreaking loss has left their families facing not only unimaginable grief but also the heavy financial burden of arranging funerals and memorial services. This fundraiser has been set up to <strong>support all four families</strong>, helping to cover funeral expenses and provide some relief during this incredibly painful time.

<div>TJ (Anthony Hibbert) and Daljang Wol were outstanding members of the Essex Rebels men's basketball team, Makyle Bayley played for the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) basketball team, and Eva Darold-Tchikaya was a dedicated member of the Essex Blades Dance Club and other university societies. They were deeply involved in student life and touched the lives of many.

<div>Hi! My name is Beeban Jikiemi-Pearson and ever since I was a kid I have dreamt of going to America to play basketball at the collegiate level.
</div>

<div>I first started playing basketball at 6 years old in Sydney, Australia. My mum signed my sister and I up as a way to free up extra hours to work. Two years later my family had to split temporarily and my mum moved across the world to London taking both my sisters, one of which was a newborn, and I with her. It was a massive change in my life; a completely new environment, culture and family dynamic. My mum enrolled in university and got her degree while working as a single parent. It was an immensely difficult time for my family, but I was shielded from that by joining basketball clubs like Kingston Wildcats and then Croydon Elite as the only girl in the club at 11 years old. I would ride the bus from one end almost to the other by myself in order to attend training.

<div>The next few years were a blur of hard work. Balancing homework on my lap as the bus rattled through Croydon; switching clubs, travelling an hour on the train to get there. Not quite getting the gold but achieving second place in the U14 National league with Richmond Knights. Then, winning a sports scholarship to a prestigious school, that helped me to accomplish no grade below an A in my eleven GCSE’s. At sixteen I joined CoLA (City of London Academy Southwark), heart set on being part of its basketball programme, renowned throughout the UK.

<div>During my first two years at CoLA I got a taste of the experience that would become my dream: balancing my responsibilities as Vice Student President of the school, with the rigour of my Further Maths A level whilst leading my team through the soaring heights and devastating lows of an entire season played during a pandemic — a season that ended in us falling short at the last hurdle and placing second in the Division 1 Women’s National League final!

<div>I wasn’t ready to give up my team's dream of winning gold and I knew with one more season it would become a reality. This year I lead my team as their captain to win all 5 National Championships across 3 leagues! I am also predicted an A* in Mathematics and an A in Further Maths this year!

<div>When the time came to choose universities in the U.K. I soon realised that I faced an impossible choice. All the best universities for me did not offer basketball to the level I wanted to compete at - in the way that American Unis did. I had to choose between education and following my dream–to play basketball at collegiate level.

<div>I am a young black woman passionate about Mathematics. Facing down that choice, I knew my life goals required further education, especially when Black students are half as likely to graduate with a first class honours degree than their White counterparts in STEM academia. At 18, I had already defied society’s plan for me: 64% of girls quit sport at 16. To follow my dreams I knew I needed a top degree and I needed basketball. I needed to choose my own path – unhindered by society’s expectations.

<div>But then, something incredible happened. A call from Coach Heather Jacobs of the University of Massachusetts Boston (UMB), a top research university and a Division III athletic school in the U.S., with an offer to join their team! <div>Hi, thanks for checking out my page. On March 6th I set out for Medyka, on the Poland-Ukraine border with a car (Nora) packed full of medical supplies, nappies, sanitary pads and bedding to deliver to a refugee camp there.

<div>Since then I've been ferrying Ukrainian refugee families from the Ukraine border out West to wherever they need to go in Europe.
</div>

<div>As you can imagine all this driving racks up a fairly hefty petrol bill, hence why I have set up a GoFundMe so that I can afford to keep transporting refugees where they need to go.

<p><strong>Angelie Dela Cruz </strong><br />It is with great great sadness to write this about my sister. On December 11 2021 my dearly beloved sister had suddenly passed away. It was such an unexpected reality that someone so bright, so kind, so caring, someone full of life had been taken away from us so soon and too early. We had goals and an ambitions to make an impact on people. But it had all came to a halt. <br /><br />We enjoyed each other’s company very much. We were very close siblings. We supported each other through everything. We would do everything together. She was always so keen on travelling and I’m so thankful that mom and I had her in our life. I’m especially thankful that I get to be her little brother. She had guided me to become a better person day by day. She had paved a way for me to become successful in what I do. <br /><br />I’m glad to have all this memories with her. Even though she’s gone from us I still feel her warmth love hovering over mom and I. I’m going to miss those adventures that the three of us do every summer. The surfing session that we have. Our bonding time together. I will surely do my best for us to have a house as this is our ultimate dream for us three. <br /><br />‘Even though your time here on earth is over… that you have became and angel. You had made such a strong impact on everyone you’ve touched’. We will all miss you. <br /><br />Thank you for the fond memories, the guidance, the care, the love, the endless support. Now comes the day to bid you farewell. Mommy and I will miss you so much… the people you’ve made friends with and those you had an impact on will miss you so much. On his way back from work,he saw the woman jumping into the river not  thinking twice after calling the police, convinced he could do something to save her he jumped in and drowned saving her. This is to support the funeral and the rest for post -funeral as he was hardworking college graduate who at 20 was the family’s breadwinner . He is survived by his aged parents and siblings. SUPPORT FOLAJimiTheHero ADEWOLE's FAMILY

We are Fauzan (25) and Nabila (20), siblings born with <strong>Sickle Cell Anaemia (SCD)</strong> which is a genetic disease that causes chronic pain and damages different body parts due to lack of oxygen going around the body. After several years of battling SCD and various clinical management experiments, we’ve came to learn that only gene or stem cell therapy are the only effective long term solution. Currently the NHS isn’t in position to offer any of the two to either one of us for various reasons. <br /><br /><br />We are forced to privately seek <strong>Bone Marrow Transplant</strong> or Stem cells from partially HLA matched family members also called haploidentical transplant for both Fauzan and Nabila. This wasn’t an easy decision but due to our continuously deteriorating health, We aren’t left with much choice. <br /><br />Currently, Fauzan has lost complete mobility due to avascular necrosis in both hips. He’s had chronic back pain since 2015 due to bone damage in his spine (T6-T8) and in 2014, Fauzan developed paralysis in his lower lip and chin due to a major crisis in his jaw. As for Nabila, she is also showing signs of avascular necrosis in left hip. When 13yrs, Nabila was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis which results in excruciating chronic abdominal pains, and at 16yrs, she was diagnosed with bone damage in the spine (2 discs no longer receive blood or oxygen). <br /><br />We are both SCD activists who co founded WEREN’T BORN RICH C.I.C a nonprofit organisation to raise awareness and advocate for SCD. We support those affected with SCD in the community with benefits and welfare applications and housing issues. We assist those affected with SCD with issues regarding education and employment. This work as however been extremely affected by our ill health and COVID-19.<br /><br />We need a total of <strong>£85,000</strong> for the both of us to undergo the transplant with a specialist doctor in India who has successfully performed carried out this procedure on others with SCD. Help Fauzan and Nabila have Bone Marrow Transplant

Justice 4 Blessing!!  Our Beautiful Gorgeous Talented Independent Queen Blessing Ayomide Adetutu Olusegun was found dead at Glyne Gap Beach in Bexhill-on- Sea on Friday 18th of September at 07:30 am.  Blessing was at Bexhill-on-Sea working on placement work as a Live-in caregiver for the elderly who suffer from dementia and other mental and physical health issues for 1 week.  Blessings last conversations was around 00.30am, she sent text messages with her boyfriend and her close family friend. "Asking to stay on the phone to her as she goes for a walk" Which did not occur. As she sent a text saying "nevermind" Her last message to her family friend was at about 01:25 am on the 18th September. That very morning, blessing close family friend was alerted that Our Blessing had gone missing (NOK) meaning she didn't get back to the patients home. We was informed by the police officer at Sussex police station that they found Blessing iPhone, slippers a couple meters away from her body.  Her death was rudely reported to her mother at her house at about 2:30pm on the same date. The care agency she worked with was not Forth coming with any useful explanation. This case has been very mysterious from the start, we have been informed by the Corona stating that "Blessing autopsy results came out as Inconclusive. We feel the Sussex police are not doing enough to investigate Blessing murder at all, they have not found any evidence on her or at the crime scene of what happened to our dear Blessing.  Please let's all come together and change the system, we want to help raise awareness for CCTV cameras to be made available at the Beach and in every local areas, so investigation can be done properly. This post was from Mike and tells you the situation that has prompted this page.<br /><br />"Since the year begun, life just hasn’t been life!  I’ve undergone spinal decompression in February, which was supposed to have sidelined me indefinitely, then knock knock! COVID affects every living person on the planet, COVID measures in place, then hit with the diagnosis which nearly stopped my heart beating, grade 3 cancerous brain tumour which has a knock on effect on everything I love, seeing and spending time with my children, treating my fiancé like the queen that she is, all of my friendships, my own self confidence, my focus. That being said, I got to the conclusion that all I did prior to all this happening was wrong and needed change. What was supposed to be a new opportunity for healing and growth and somewhat of a fresh start has been tainted by dirty, evil thieves!<br />I’ve been a professional basketball player for a number of years and an avid Jordan fan. Having accumulated well over 50pairs of retro jordans, which I really do cherish, have been stolen last night from a hired transit van in Leigh on Sea, Essex, which will soon be home. So while I attempt to heal and begin my new life with the love of my life I now have this uncertainty to deal with, in the sense that I’ll be living amongst thieves!!!<br />I guess I’m hoping this post is shared amongst all my friends and family in an attempt to highlight these villains and if dreams can become reality, reunite me with my belongings.<br />In particular, I had a pair of Air Force Supremes 25, customised in the memory of my late mother in the colours of our beautiful island of St. Lucia (Royal Blue, Yellow and Black with her initials of MP on them, these are unique and hold very sentimental value. If seen, the person selling them needs to be named and shamed.<br />The collection ranges from Jordan 1’s through to Jordan 23’s which I’ve been collecting throughout my career. There’s are some beautiful shoes in there might I add. I’m a UK size 12, most shoes have not been worn and are box fresh. If your a local on the Leigh on sea/ Essex area and some scum all of a sudden is offloading Jordan’s, please bare this post in mind. And help will be greatly appreciated. Many that have not been worn yet. As you will all understand the monetary loss is huge but the sentimental attachment to them cannot be measured especially at such an emotional time for him. I imagine he's not working, right, and needs high quality nutrition, help and support beyond that provided by the NHS?
