What they care about

she's wanting better but being homeless is tough she's recovered from drugs the goal is to get her housing help with food I can't do it alone. Anything helps

My name is Brandon and the photo with the females is a picture of my mom and a recovery home a few years ago but unfortunately I've tried my best to work hard for what I do have I'm not a perfect human but I was hurt at work and now I can't provide like I need to for the people around me I'm currently waiting on a civil suit to go through with my previous employer my mother is also a part of this story and she is still in a state to where I need to get her into a rehabilitation clinic but she likes the insurance and I lack the money back when I was working it wouldn't have been a problem cuz money is not worth what my mother is and I would absolutely enjoy to have the means to help her get better after all these years and here is our story, raised in a small town always had big dreams about becoming successful Addiction took that from me from us for so long. Growing up in a small town everyone knows everything and or everyone. When I was 5 years old my grandmother lost her life due to loosing control of her vehicle she flip and sadly it broke her neck and she passed away in the back of the ambulance on the way to the hospital My kid brain couldn't process it but when I did that's when I grew up I couldn't go back to Grandma's and watch fox and the hound I couldn't enjoy spending time in the woods learning different medicines but she was taken why I was not seeing my grandmother anymore as a little time passed I found myself spending a lot of time with my grandfather my mother's dad I'll never forget it. My grandfather from what I remember was a good man he taught me about trapping coon hunting and love Time passed and my mother was grieving hard she couldn't help it cause just about a a few months later my grandpa was asleep when his house burnt down it was strangely a year later to date from my grandma passing away in that horrific car accident let's just say that sent my mother into a mental health state it sent me enter emotional shock at the loss of both my grandparents in a year's time and my mom she's never recovered from. Within me being five and six years old she went through hell by this point. She got pregnant with me at 14. My biological dad would not help not in this case or any other he spent his time worrying about what other woman he could be with and raising their kids when he wasn't out drinking but mostly he spent his time incarcerated. my mom met my stepdad before both her parents had horrific deaths so he was the only rock she could lean on but at the time they were not together and wasn't together but my step dad still cared and offered to take us in when none of the rest of my family did nothing about it to help even if it was a hug I never seen that happen we didn't get the emotional attention or help she actually needed from the step family just shelter and food and church but we learned to live I learn to live my mom she still tried to make it after the fact but fell back apart. After both my grandparents accident my mom grieved heavy for years but she tried to remain herself she got married to my stepdad but her mental state over our two losses it turned into a drug addiction for her then me later on then a prison sentence for drugs and possession which turned into another prison sentence for drugs she's been through countless halfway houses countless recovery homes but she can't never get out of the state of mind she was in after she lost her father and mother I guess that was it because my mom has been broken for 25 years and within all this time I've tried to make peace with her I've gotten clean I never understood why she wasn't there until I got older I realized looking back on it I feel like I was too hard on my mother in all the wrong ways because unfortunately I was right in every step she was in I was right there behind her the whole time from her being home from prison too going back to prison up until the point that I started getting and staying in trouble from youth which spiraled out of control and led me down the wrong road I went too prison also in 2019 for marijuana. I came home in 2023. What family I had was split apart my mother and stepdad divorced my mom lives on the streets and every step I mean Every step of the way I've constantly set on being the chain breaker I set out on my own at last not to be selfish but to develop skills I can use to help my mom come through the barrier that's holding her back from just being a normal person I have plenty barriers holding me back from a lot of good opportunities over a felony conviction of marijuana when I went to prison it was treated like it was heroin it was in the same drug class when I was released after doing my time every corner store sold it or gave it away but I realized that isolation got me out of the loop for a while so I can start thinking for myself and how I can help my family and when it comes down to it it's only my mother and I who are in the same boat that's why I'm trying so hard to get A place this nice lady gave me the opportunity to live in one of her houses as long as I pay the electricity and water bill. The house is about 90 years old if I owned it and if I had the money I would tear it down to the foundation and rebuild but I do not have that option the only option I have is living here sprucing the place up until I can find a place. I have a lot of barriers I'm currently in the process of working out my disability I'm waiting to go in front of a law judge I've had to hire a lawyer that doesn't take money until the job is done and that has been a big blessing I was told not too long ago by an orthopedic surgeon doctor that I have a blown out right knee and a full knee replacement surgery is in my future as of now I've been getting the injection shots in my knee. For those wondering the shots do help for about 2 months. I only get for a year that's what my insurance covers I got to make it work. I apologize for spilling out my story here. If this touches your heart and you can't donate and you believe in prayer well that's better than any money. If you can't donate we understand we don't hold it against no folk but like I said prayers is always a great help thanks for taking time and hearing her story our story please again if you can't donate to help us get her into a suitable apartment nothing outrageous and mental health treatments along with substance abuse treatments she left the state of Virginia and doesn't have insurance anymore she was staying at the Salvation Army but her drug addiction just got worse overtime because there were so many people there that was bringing drugs in that should have been arrested and took to a place so they could detox and get sober maybe get into sober living I hate to see my mother go through all that when I can physically pay for her treatment once I get better or get some help if you don't do anything but pray that's all that I expect amen
