My name is Deston Munden, science fiction and fantasy author, who has been through a lot with his dental and jaw procedures. I’m blessed to have made it this far but I’m on the final stretch of what has been a long journey. As you may know from my videos and social media, I’ve been dealing with constant pain involving my overbite and the stress it has on my jaw. It’s not a week that goes by that I haven’t dealt with at least one day on painkillers or in constant sleep just to put off the pain. But no matter what I try to put a smile on my face. I have things I need to do and things I want to accomplish, and the pain cannot keep me down! With the help of my social media and after countless rejections, I finally found myself a surgeon willing to take on my case. Doctor David Alfi has agreed to a consultation to give me a shot. I’ve never gotten this far. Usually, the surgeons will take one look at my case and decide that I’m much too difficult of a case. This is both exciting and nerve-wracking since not only is this my first time doing a surgery of this level, but I’m going to be out of state to do it (currently in North Carolina and going to Florida). I will be meeting him on June 26th! While the pain is the focus, I’ve also been the target of ridicule. Though, I handle most of it with a smile, it’s also tough somedays. Anything from woodland animals to outright terrible caricatures, I’ve experienced it all. So not only will this help me in my daily life, but it will also help a lot with my self confidence in myself. Again, this isn’t the focus, but it truly would help me both in my personal and my career! We are doing our best on our end to save up money for this trip, consultations and surgeries. But we cannot do it alone. You’ve all been amazing and you have already shown so much interest in getting me on track. Just you being here is the support that I need!
