UPDATE 9/3/26 We replaced the catalytic converter and O2 sensors. But when we attempted to put the new MAF sensor in the car wouldn't start. so we put the old one back in. As of now the car is still misfiring. We have ordered new spark plug wires and will be returning the MAF sensor and save for a better aka more expensive one. This is incredibly exhausting. We have been continuously repairing the car for 3 months now. we have 1 week before our 1st scheduled haunt event that is sure to be out biggest this year or any year has ever seen. We can't give up now! We will give you another update soon.
UPDATE 8/12/26: Dwayne got a new job! The commute is 2 hours a day BUT he no longer is using the car for Spark Deliveries! The car is limping but is getting us from A to B. As of right now we are saving to get the drive safe replaced. The Munster Mobile has been sputtering quite a bit so we are hoping when we can change the MAF sensor is will clear. This needs to happen sooner than later to potentially avoid further damage to the catalytic convertor. We have been inviting to some AMAZING Haunts for this Halloween season but until the repairs are made we may not make it. Your support would mean the world UPDATE 8/22/26 We replaced the drive shaft today. The vibration is gone! But the misfiring has gotten much worse. We have finally been able to order the MAF sensor, catalytic converter and O2 sensors. We will let you know how it goes .
We are Destination Stone. Two videographers from Florida that moved to North Carolina with a dream and a camera. Since 2020 we have been creating videos, memories & a wonderful community with our GoPro and our 2010 Subaru Forester giving it the name the Munster Mobile. In Sept of 2024 we were both affected by Hurricane Helene losing our jobs. Since then we have been self employed. And As much as our video adventures bring us and the community joy, they do not pay the bills. The Munster Mobile has been taking on a whole new role as well becoming a delivery vehicle for the Walmart Delivery Service known as Spark (this is independent work similar to Doordash). But it is beginning to become too much for the Munster Mobile. At the beginning of June 2026 the Munster Mobile began showing signs of repairs needed. What we thought would be just a tune up job has now escalated into much more. All June we have been doing the repairs ourselves along with a friend in an effort to save money. But the past week our car has been in the shop to replace lower control arms that we were not able to do ourselves. This repair should have only taken 2 hours but during the repair a blot broke. The shop was unable to find one locally so they ordered it online which took a few days to arrive. Because of the work we do, missing a few days resulted quickly into us being behind on rent. We received the Munster Mobile back today only to discover the issue we were feeling is still there and is getting worse. The shop also informed us of a few things that we still need to do. Drive Shaft Replacement $500 Catalytic Convertor Replacement $3000 TBD MAF Sensor Replacement $200 Spark Plug Wire Replacement $80 Battery Replacement $200 Tire Replacement $250 Total $4230 The lower control arms were needed but the replacement took what funds we had left. Our rent is also month to month and being behind on rent is the very reason we have found ourselves creating this fundraiser. The Munster Mobile is our lifeline at the moment. Anything could help us get him back on the road. UPDATE 8/12/26: Dwayne got a new job! The commute is 2 hours a day BUT he no longer is using the car for Spark Deliveries!
