Hi, names Des! I’m a single dad of 3 doing my best to provide a stable life for my boys. Recently I’ve been hit with a situation that I'm finding difficult to recover from. At the end of March, I was involved in a car accident that resulted in my previous vehicle being written off. After receiving the insurance payout, I used that money to purchase another car for £4,500 from a private seller. I genuinely believed I was making a sensible decision to get back on my feet. I even made the trip to collect the car with my youngest son 6 yrs old and his mum. The seller came across as genuine, and I trusted that everything was as it should be. Looking back, I realise I may have been too trusting but at the time, I just wanted to move forward and get back to normal life. Within just a couple of days of owning the car, problems started to appear. Now, less than two weeks later, the car is off the road and sitting in a garage awaiting urgent repairs. I’ve been given repair estimates showing multiple issues, including fuel injector, glow plugs related faults and other essential work. The current estimate is already over £1200, with the possibility of additional costs depending on what else is uncovered. I’ve tried reaching out to the seller to resolve this, but I’ve had no response. This has left me in a very difficult position. The car was meant to be my way forward after the accident, but instead it’s set me back further. Without reliable transport, it’s affecting my ability to work, manage daily responsibilities, and keep on top of essential bills. I’m doing everything I can to stay positive while fighting to stay afloat and handle this myself, but the reality is this unexpected setback has created a financial gap I can’t close alone right now. I’m trying raising funds to help with Urgent repair costs to get the car safely back on the road Short-term support with essential household and utility bills while I recover from this setback. I’ve included the garage estimates for full transparency. Any support, no matter how small, would make a real difference in helping me regain stability and continue providing for my child. If you’re not in a position to donate, even sharing this would mean a lot. Thank You for taking the time to read my story.
