With no source of heat, we’re afraid to be sick.

<div>Despite the difficulties, I cling to hope. I dream of completing my education, becoming a successful engineer, and making my family proud. I yearn for a peaceful life where I can pursue my passions and contribute to my community.

<div>“My name is Ayham Rock, I am 16 years old from the village of Khuza'a in Gaza, Palestine. The occupation destroyed my beautiful village, and bombed the house where I grew up with my mother, father, three brothers and two sisters: Ayham (16), Yusra (13), Rahaf (20), Adham (24), Malek (23), my mother (48), and my father (53). Here we were displaced from our village of Khuza'a to the Rafah area (near the Egyptian border). We live in a displacement tent. We have been here for 260 days of suffering and pain, and the situation is very difficult. I cannot describe to you the enormous suffering we are living here. We suffer from a lot of fear and tension. The sounds of explosions are heard everywhere, and we suffer from high food prices, medical neglect, shortages of medicines, the spread of infectious diseases, and the lack of safe drinking water. Two of my sisters have been exposed to infectious diseases that threaten their lives, so we cannot live in the Gaza Strip. In other words, the Gaza Strip is uninhabitable. In this war, I lost many of my friends and some of my cousins. I lost my education and my future. My home and my beautiful memories were destroyed. I have nothing now. Our lives have been threatened with death more than once. I don't know if we will survive the Rafah invasion.

<div>In order to evacuate my family to Egypt

<div>It is necessary to create a special permit for each family member. Evacuation officers earn about $5,500 per adult and about $2,500 per child. My family needs about $27,000 to get the evacuation permit to Egypt.

<div>I hope that you can all evacuate my family to Egypt. Our lives are threatened with death every day. <div>Hi there, friends. My name is Reem (aka Reja) to some who don't know me - I am a Palestinian American from New Mexico. Many of you know how close the Palestinian cause is to my heart, and I have not stopped talking about the suffering and genocide of my people for as long as I could speak and think! I created this page to help my friend Mohammad in Gaza. Mohammad has been working tirelessly to collect donations to feed starving children amid this horrific genocide that has unfolded before our very eyes. As the world bears witness to the atrocities in Gaza, the children and citizens of Gaza are living a cruel nightmare; starved, homeless, cold, orphaned, and left without basic human necessities. Humanitarian aid trucks haven't entered the besieged enclave in over a month! There is now a path to get into Egypt where they can apply for a pre-approved visa to a third country. <div>I am Yasser Abu Rida. Palestinian nationality and origin. I was born in the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip. I live in the village of Khuza’a, which is located east of the city of Khan Yunis. I am now 32 years old. I am married and have three children. Two sons and a daughter (Youssef - Muhammad - Maria). I graduated from the Faculty of Civil Engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza. I used to work in the private sector in contracting companies and also in the non-profit sector such as UNRWA and Catholic Relief. But unfortunately, I was working under the name of a temporary contract for a period of three or four months. I graduated 10 years ago, but I only worked intermittently for 5 years. The level of unemployment and poverty here has exceeded the red lines. During the past year alone, I worked for three months with UNRWA as a site engineer for the Summer School Games. Now, during this crazy war, I am here in the shelter center in the west of the city of Khan Yunis, and my mother, my father, and my unmarried brother live with me in the tent. I also have two married sisters with their children and their husbands, and I also have another married brother with his children and his wife. Total approximately 24 people. Children: 14 children in total. The living situation here is very bad and the reason we are now in real famine. People here need food and also money. Therefore, they stole the aid entering the Gaza Strip and sold it at ridiculous prices that exceeded five times the price. UNRWA here does not provide us with assistance at any shelter center. Only non-potable water and drinking water we buy through some water distributors that are still working but not constantly available. The situation now in the city of Khan Yunis. The Israeli army began its ground operation in a violent manner within 21 days from now. It has now reached the city center and begun bombing Nasser Central Hospital located in the west of the city of Khan Yunis. On a daily basis, I need to provide wood for cooking food, as well as drinking water and secondary-use water for washing clothes and dishes. We also need baby supplies, including milk, Pampers, clothes, and also laundry detergent. After that, I have to leave the shelter and look for food for them. Unfortunately, every movement you make here requires money. At least 24 people need more than $50 a day. Some friends helped me, but the situation we are experiencing here is many times beyond our capacity. The Israeli army is now seeking to displace us to Rafah, which is adjacent to the south of the Gaza Strip. This will require another and more difficult suffering from us in light of the overpopulation there and the prices will double very significantly. <div>The situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, and Abood and his family are faced with new struggles everyday as the weather worsens and rain falls through the holes in their roof. Their tent is falling apart and their health is in steady decline. Many of Abood's family members suffer from chronic illness and all of them suffer from malnutrition. Their hope is starting to fade as the sounds of reconnaissance planes continue to hum overhead, the cacophonous sound of F-35 jets pass overhead, bombs can be heard thundering in the distance. Death is ever-present, seemingly inescapable.

<div>Abood is still in unimaginable pain as his lower jaw is still a mess of fractured bones. He sends me photos of the bone fragments that come out of the open sores inside his mouth left by the Israeli sniper round. He has been resilient and stoic through this whole experience, but is beginning to fear time is running out for them all.

<div>We cannot lose hope. Together, through collective action we have the power to save and change Abood's life for the better. We are <strong><em>so close</em></strong> to evacuating him to Egypt to undergo surgery on his multi-fractured lower jaw. With just several thousand more dollars we will get him across the border to his uncle, Bassam in Giza, Egypt. We can help ensure that his family has the supplies to survive until we have the necessary funds for evacuation. Now that we are more than halfway to our goal, I believe evacuation is within reach before anything catastrophic happens to Abood and his family if we act soon. <div>It's been one year since the war in Palestine resurged. Abood's situation remains dire, but we are 40% of the way to our goal of $15,000! Every day we come one step closer to evacuating Abood safely out of Gaza to Egypt so he can undergo surgery for his fractured lower mandible.

<div>I have begun the process of transferring the money in small secure portions via Western Union to Abood's uncle, Bassam in Egypt, so that he can directly assist Abood with the border crossing out of Gaza. Bassam is also able to transfer cash directly to Abood across the border. This is to say, once we secure the necessary funding, everything will be in place to evacuate Abood.

<div>There is word spreading that the Rafah crossing will be open in the middle of October, allowing Gazan's passage into Egypt. The cost is assumed to be $5000 per adult (prior cost to travel via Hala tourism company) but there may also be alternative methods of transport. We simply don't know enough yet but, with that being said, we are hopeful that with a surge of donations we will be able to afford getting Abood safely across into Egypt during this upcoming opening of the Rafah crossing.

I seek urgent treatment abroad due to the lack of medical capabilities in the Gaza Strip. The pain is so severe that everyday tasks such as speaking and eating cause me great pain, so great that it has caused me to faint at times. My family consists of my father, mother, and eight siblings. We are now living in a tent due to the destruction of Khan Younis. Daily life has become very difficult for us all.

<p>Hello dear friends, my name is Kate from Germany! Since long time I know my dear friend Hassan Khader Ali (Twitter: @hassankhaderali) , who is living in a small district of the Al Hudaydah Governorate in Yemen. 
</p><br />
<p>Beside the very bad circumstances caused by war, starvation and poverty, he is suffering of a genetic disorder, called Muscular Dystrophy (MD). This disease damages and weakens his muscles over time. The MD results in the breakdown of skeletal muscles, so that it causes problems with walking, swallowing and muscle coordination. In some cases, it even leads to failure of the heart muscle and lungs, so that the affected suffocate. 
</p><br />
<p>Sincemore than 20 years, Hassan can't stand or walk anymore. His disease progresses so that he isn’t even able to raise his arms. Because of all of that, he is not able to take care of himself or to leave the house. So he lives isolated from the world outside. He is glad to have his brother, who tries to help him in everyday life. As many people in Yemen also Hassans family is really poor and because of war, there is not even work. 
</p><br />
<p>I talked to different humanitarian organizations through the last years to get some help for Hassan, but unfortunately they doesn't feel responsible for an „individual case“, they say. So we hope to get some support by you in any way! 
</p><br />
<p>I created that fundraiser 2018 to support Hassan in his daily life. 
</p><br />
<p>Until now MD is unfortunately incurable. But I consulted a neurologists here in Germany and he recommended some issues we could do to improve the quality of Hassan's life. Apart from the lack of food (especially with high-protein/-calcium) and elecricity, gas for cooking, a new medical examination at a specialist (his reports are 20 yrs old), a medical diagnostic to monitor the progress of the disease and his constitution (e.g. by heart muscle and lung function test) and aid supplies (e.g. a wheel chair) and an electronic wheelchair ♿ would help him. I hope we can raise enough, so that we can organize these issues for him. 
</p><br />
<p>I would really appreciate it, if you would help me to support Hassan! The situation became worse in Yemen and he is so weak and becomes always thinner. Also because of missing good and healthy food which is rare available and even really expensive in these days. For having simple food without luxury things (like vegetables, fish or meat), he needs around $15 daily. So every little amount you can donate would help to give him new hope despite this serious disease and also improve his quality of life as it’s possible in war! Be sure it will safely reach him!
