<div>Three days after my birthday, on Saturday night, I was in a car accident that completely totaled the new car my dad had just gifted me. It was very scary and has been overwhelming to process. As many friends and family know, my previous car broke down at the beginning of April and had damage severe enough to be considered totaled, which already limited my ability to get to work. I’ve proudly worked at my Club Pilates studio since 2021, and now losing my car for the second time this month has made commuting the required distance even more difficult, putting me in a tough financial position. My dad and I had put everything we could into making sure I had reliable transportation to celebrate my birthday. I used my savings to register the car, and after the accident I had to pay the cost of towing it from the scene. Now I’m facing upcoming bills, including rent, while trying to get back on my feet. I’m hoping to raise funds to help cover immediate expenses and put towards another vehicle. Having reliable transportation is important for my daily life and work, and right now I’m just trying to figure out the best way forward. Help After My Car Accident

<div>As many other families today, <strong>we are devastated to have lost our home and business in the Palisades Fire on January 7th, 2025.</strong> We lived in Palisades Village for two and a half years, our daughter Hazel was born here in our home, and we are heartbroken over the loss of our community and village.

Fire Recovery Fund for the Adam Family

Tomorrow will be 397 days since my big brother became paralyzed and has been in a hospital bed or nursing home. For those of you that don’t know, my older brother Danny was in a near fatal car accident in April 2020 when he swerved off the road to miss a herd of elk and suffered what was thought to be a complete injury to his spinal cord. He spent two months in the hospital and was then transferred to a nursing home. <br /><br />June 2020 was the last time I publicly shared about his accident, when we assumed he would be discharged to figure out his next steps in life. Since then, he has had Covid, Pneumonia, MRSA, stage 4 bedsores, a bone infection, a major surgery plus a skingraft, and much more that is either too gruesome or too painful to share. Despite all that plagued him this past year, his hope, strength, and resilience remained consistent. <br /><br />Last September, Danny found a spinal cord rehabilitation facility in Omaha, Nebraska called QLI and our sights have been set on it since. QLI is one of, if not the, best spinal cord rehabilitation facilities in the country, and going there was a long shot goal to say the least. However, with the help of a lot of incredibly wonderful people along the way, I couldn’t be happier to share that Danny has been accepted into QLI’s program and will spend the next 3 months there starting in a few days!<br /><br />I just flew into Montana and I will check Danny out of his nursing home tomorrow (Monday, May 19th) to spend a couple of days getting him ready for his next adventure and to breathe a bit before the wonderful, but hard work ahead. Danny will need a lot of help and assistance along the way, especially after he gets out of QLI, and I will continue to support him in all the ways I know how. <br /><br />If you feel called to donate to this journey, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Danny's life has been far from easy and he has seen a lot of darkness in his time here on earth. At the same time, he has seen so much of the light and he is a fighter. Often, because of pride, the families just won't send the kids to school. The funds will go toward providing resources to Cal Fire, and resources to those who have been misplaced or who's homes and livelihood have been completely destroyed via the Wildfire Relief Fund, and local organizations taking in refugees including The Jesus Center and others. Camp Fire/ Woolsey Fire Relief

My name is Mary Bailey, and my daughter, (Miss) Melissa Bailey, was a 2nd grade teacher of the “Bailey Beehive” at Paradise Elementary School. On Thursday, November 8th, they were all evacuated from their school due to the Camp Fire burning in Paradise.  This photo is of their once beloved, happy and cohesive school, which has now burned to the ground. Many teachers and families have lost not only their school but their own homes. I don’t know where they are going to put these children for schooling because the fire has burned through their town, but when they do find a place I would love for these teachers and children to have some money for supplies and books as they now have absolutely nothing. Please help if you can. These children are our future and these underpaid and overworked teachers can not make this happen on their own, especially with their own personal losses.  I send my love and blessing to all staff, students, and families at Paradise Elementary School.

For over 5 years, Be the Change's donation-based yoga studio has served as a space for self-discovery, sanctuary, self-care, healing, health, creativity, connection, and community. <br /><br />Our donation-based model has meant we never turn anyone away due to lack of funds. We want all people to have access to the transformative practice of yoga and our impact in the community reflects that intention. What we've given to our community has been based on a system of trust and mutuality, trusting that folks will give what they can. We are there for people in their greatest time of need to offer health &amp; healing, and we hope our community can support us now that we ourselves are in a place where we need help. <br /><br />We've been grateful for our space in the heart of downtown San Jose, however now are rent has doubled and we have been pushed to find a new location. Thankfully we've found a wonderful new space only 1.5 miles away from our current location, at 947 Park ave.  We are raising funds to make this transition possible...so that we can continue to serve San Jose in a new home. <br /><br />There is a lot of work to be done to make the new space fit to be a yoga studio:<br />- painting<br />- new ceiling<br />- electrical/light fixtures<br />- building a front desk<br />- building shelving for props and benches<br />- deep cleaning<br />- seating/landscaping of front patio <br />- new signage<br />- building deposit<br /><br />We are asking our community to support us, so we can continue to be a place shining compassion, healing, wellness and sanctuary in San Jose. <br /><br />All contributions from $10-$10,000 are valued. A New Home for Be the Change Yoga

On October 1st, Elle Gargano became a victim of the Las Vegas shooting. She is one of the most selfless and sweetest humans. These donations will go towards her medical expenses and recovery. <div>The love and concern that strangers have shown a man they'll probably never meet is beyond words. I recently spent an evening with Tarec reading your comments to him. I wish you could've seen his face light up. To say your words mean the world to him would be a vast understatement.<strong> For a man that has practically nothing the sense of pride and importance that YOU have given him can't ever be taken away.</strong><br /><br />So now the tough part. <strong>How is Tarec doing?</strong><br /><br />Well.</div>

<div>He still lives in a tent next to highway 101 in Marin City. The rain has made life even tougher for Tarec. He still spends most of his days alone or hanging out at Starbucks. The employees and customers treat him well. It's hard not to. The warmth in this guy's heart is palpable. </div>

<div>As for the job. Safeway did indeed offer Tarec a job and we celebrated that news with ice cream. I thought we had a happy ending and a new beginning for Tarec. I was wrong. I failed and I truly apologize if anyone feels misled. With that said, <strong>TOGETHER we have an opportunity to write a happy ending and give Tarec a new shot at life.</strong></div>

<div>In retrospect, I didn't fully understand the impossible nature of having and keeping a job with no place to call home. In an effort to find Tarec a home, I visited Homeward Bound and met with their executive director, Mary Kay Sweeney, a real life angel. She taught me <strong>"a healthy home is the foundation for a prosperous life". </strong><br /><br /><div>We've come full circle. <br /><br />Tarec is still homeless and jobless, <strong>but not hopeless</strong>. And because of YOU neither am I. I can't emphasize this enough. The thousands of comments and messages I have received over the past few months has inspired me to finish what I started. <strong>Change a man's life.</strong> Now with thousands of my closest friends, we can accomplish that together.<br /><br />From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness and support. <br /><br />"Life is hard.
