<div>The Mullingar Shamrocks U15 Ladies Football team have qualified for the All-Ireland Féile Peile na nÓg finals which will be held in Derry on Saturday June 27th. This is the first time in the club's history that our ladies' team has reached the All-Ireland finals so it is really a special achievement.

<div>The core of this panel has won back-to-back Div1 U14 championship titles, and are fantastic representatives of our club.

Shamrocks Family Festive Fundraiser 2025

<div>Our beautiful Emma is critically ill in Tenerife. What was meant to be a well-deserved family holiday and break from the day-to-day, has turned into every family’s worse nightmare.
</div>

</div>
<div>Mosquito bites lead to a worsening infection, which caused Emma to collapse and hit her head on the tiled pavement. The fall resulted in a serious head injury and she remains in an induced coma. The medical team have confirmed that her recovery will be long, uncertain, and incredibly challenging.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We, Emma’s family and friends would ask for your help to support Emma’s partner Stephen who is self employed, and their kids Sophie and Bobby, as they stay by Emma’s side in Tenerife to provide some relief in the day to day expenses so they can focus on the long road of recovery in front of them.

Mullingar Shamrocks Festive Family Fundraiser 2023

<div>First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this.

<div>Our funny, full of life and loving friend Emily Daly was in a dreadful accident in Lima, Peru earlier this month. Her injuries sustained are severe and have left her in hospital requiring several operations in different phases to hopefully have her back on her feet again and fighting fit.
</div>
<div>Emily is in Daniel Alcides Carrion National Hospital and her family are currently trying to travel over to be by her side, help in her recovery and then be able to bring her home to Ireland where she will continue her rehabilitation. The costs of her healthcare, travel &amp; accommodation have placed a serious financial strain on the family, which is the last thing anyone needs to be worrying about in these situations, when Emily needs them most.

<div>This Go Fund Me will allow Emily to have the vital operations she needs, her mum &amp; dad travel over to be by her side, a medical aid to help bring her home and financial aid to get her home safely.

<div>Laying in a hospital room in Kenya are 3 beautiful baby girls. They are our triplets born at 32weeks, all overeager to arrive into the world. They’re in incubators, with wires attached to them, oxygen helping one of them breathe and monitors beeping. Next to them I stay, as long as I am allowed every day.

<div>I am edward, I’m Irish and now dad to these amazing little girls. My partner and I had a dream to grow our family and become parents. We embarked on a journey to become parents in 2021 and with the help of our beutiful surragate we where blessed with 3 perfect little angels.

<div>We have spent the past few months in apprehensive excitement. Everyday we prayed our babies and surrogate would be ok, but they’ve arrived very early and classed as very premature. Now we are facing the prospect of weeks or months of 24 hour hospital care. The bills are already mounting and we are stuck. Our savings are almost depleted, we are desperate and getting money anyway we can but we need help. Our babies need help!

Mullingar Shamrocks Festive Family Fundraiser

<div>Lucas is a lovely 8 years old boy with ASD and ADHD.  He is very clever, with limited speech, but most of the time has a smile on his face.  People in Lakepoint, Mullingar will know Lucas as a happy boy, who loves wheelie bins and loves to tidy them from the street, when they are empty. This is his obsession and he does it every day. His disability has taught us a lot and has an affect on our family and our family trips.  We can't do any picnics, we can't go to a coffee shop to sit and enjoy a coffee, we can't just sit in the park and enjoy the weather, we can't go to the cinema as a family, we struggle to  manage any trips outside, with friends.  Lucas is very active, all the time on the run. We can't do a lot of things, where it is expected Lucas will sit for a while. But what we can do is go for walks and cycling trips. I do not drive.  So when my husband is at work, and I need to go somewhere, I have Lucas with me and we have to walk.  I’ve previously used  a special buggy for Lucas or bicycle with a bike seat. Now, Lucas won’t use the buggy anymore as he's aware, he is a big boy and perceives the buggy as being for younger children. Unfortunately he is too big for a bike seat as well. We tried to find some solution, but he didn't want to sit nicely in any bike trailer. Lucas doesn't know how to ride a bike or scooter by himself. But in his case it will be dangerous anyway, as he has very poor concentration and more likely when riding a bike, he will look around and look for wheelie bins! Second thing is, Lucas is not aware of cars, so when we are outside, we have to keep an eye on him all the time.

<div>Lucas accesses horse riding therapy and swimming but He is missing our bike trips.  It seems, we have finally found a solution, if we can raise the additional funds. We found a cargo bicycle that suits Lucas the best. Unfortunately it is very expensive and is well over our budget.  Like all parents, I always want only the best for my child but I know that cargo bike is very expensive. I have never ever asked for help before and I know that some cargo bikes are cheaper. We tried the cheaper one as well, but unfortunately it didn't suit Lucas.  A lot of people might say, it is a luxury to have a bike like this. I know it is, but this bike will help us as a family.  We can do longer trips with Lucas and he can sit comfortably and more importantly, safely,  on the look out for wheelie bins. Our budget is €2000, the cost of the bike is €5850.

Help Lucas get the bike he needs

Westmeath Lgfa are proud of our county footballers for reaching TG4 Intermediate final on December 20th 2020 in Croke Park. We would greatly appreciate if you would donate in support of the team.  Due to the current COVID 19  pandemic we are unable to fundraise in the usual manner.

On December 26th every year, a charity soccer match named 'The Chopra Cup' takes place to raise funds for charities in the local Mullingar area. <br /><br />In previous years, donations have been made to Irish Cancer Society, St Vincent De Paul and Meals on Wheels; the charity chosen this year is the <strong>North Westmeath Hospice.</strong><br /><br />This hospice provides an invaluable service and fundraising is vital for the continued support it provides to our community. <br />It is a voluntary organisation which was set up to help provide specialist palliative care services for the people of Westmeath.<br /><br />So What Is The Chopra Cup all about?<br /><br />In the lead up to Christmas 2017, a group of Mullingar men in their mid-late twenties organised a social, 9-aside soccer match to be played on St. Stephen's Day. All players gave a sum of money on the day which was donated to St Vincent de Paul, Mullingar. <br /><br />After such a successful and positive day in 2017, it was decided that this game would be organised on an annual basis, with any monies raised going to a different charity every year.<br /><br />This year, 'The Chopra Cup' will see 'The Dogs' go for 3 in-a-row against 'Scorpy Boys FC'.<br /><br />As players, we will be pushing hard to raise as much sponsorship as possible in anticipation for the match on December 26th.  The match will be contested in Mullingar Shamrocks, Stephens' Day, 10:30 am.<br /><br />We would greatly appreciate any contribution you could make to this most-worthy cause.<br /><br />Thank you,<br />Chopras.

Financial aid will help with Lee's ongoing treatment which will include travelling abroad for additional medical expertise and surgery to amputate the right side of his pelvis and leg.  <br /><br />Bone sarcomas, are very rare, particularly so in young adults. Lee's tumour is so rare it has  never been seen by leading specialists in the UK or China. It is a mixture of an Osteosarcoma, a Ewings sarcoma and a spindle cell sarcoma, therefore a definitive diagnosis has not been possible. ￼ <br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/38151466_1554246491812447_r.jpeg" alt="38151466_1554246491812447_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /></strong>Lee just after his diagnosis<strong><br /><br />In terms of treatment, this his been a massive barrier, as the doctors are unsure how to proceed. To further complicate things Lee's cancer has now spread to his lungs.   Having done a lot of research we are aware of  treatment options in other countries, but unfortunately these treatments carry a large price tag. Your financial support will give Lee the best chance of finding a cure and a chance to live. ￼<br /><br />Lee's sister Dawn will be managing all funds raised on behalf of Lee and the Wallace family.<br /><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/38151466_1554246812221785_r.jpeg" alt="38151466_1554246812221785_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /></strong>Lee during recent chemotherapy <br /><br />Lee was your average, carefree 26 year old from outside Mullingar, Co. Westmeath. He worked hard all week and enjoyed the weekends with his friends and family. He likes nothing better than going to football and hurling games, backing horses and socialising.... <br /><br />That all changed in August 2018, when Lee went to A&amp;E in Mullingar Hospital in the middle of the night suffering from a really bad pain in his groin which was radiating down his right leg.  He had been having pain for some time but thought he had pulled a muscle... ￼<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/38151466_1554246890377428_r.jpeg" alt="38151466_1554246890377428_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />Lee and some of his friends at a hurling game in Tipp <br /><br />After having multiple xrays, scans and blood tests he was admitted to a ward. Lee and his family were told the next day that he had a very rare and very large bone sarcoma of his right pelvis and that he would be referred to The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. There are neither an oncology sarcoma specialist nor an orthopaedic oncologist who specialise in pelvic sarcomas in Ireland. Therefore Lee cannot have surgery at home. Lee and his family have travelled to Birmingham on a number of occasions for biopsies, further scans, pre surgery assessments and consultations.   <br /><br />Since October 2018, Lee has been undergoing intensive chemotherapy in St Vincent's in order to shrink his tumour in preparation for surgery.   But unfortunately the pelvic tumour has grown and the spread of cancer to his lungs has made our search for a cure all the more urgent. <br /><br />If anyone reading this knows of any Medical Oncologist anywhere who has expertise in the treatment of sarcomas particularily of the pelvis.
