A little update as we start to into our final few months of Ellie's 2 year journey . The reality of back to school , happiness to be back , hanging with her mates but it's viral season which means temperatures and that means hospital still so we had a little unexpected stay but it is that when viruses are rampant. Then her scheduled chemo today while she's feeling unwell with a 530 am start after a sleepless night 2 nights before . And look at that smile , she has become so go with the flow , shes had to be brave she's had to just get over the needles the sickness the hospitals she is truly amazing and I'm in awe of her so much , but also of her amazing sisters who also have to adapt and change to suit these unexpected changes to plans and routines and mammy gone again and things cancelled on them and one sister getting all their mammy they all have had to endure and adapt where kids never should but it wasnt a choice so we had to find ways to navigate while trying to minimise the damage but you can't you just have to lien up supoorts ans releases for everyone to have somewhere to voice and be heard and given tools to help each one through their part of this journey . I believe if we can get through this we can get through anything and the healing has already begun for all of us with amazing support from @handinhand_charity @childhoodcancerire @cancerfundforchildren @irishcancersociety What will evolve in the months and years afterwards will be strong ,versatile, empathic girls who will make the world a better place for their being in it . For now we are getting ready to celebrate her birthday as she turns 8 next week , 2nd and last birthday in treatment , hard to believe it's 2 years ,2 birthdays , sometimes I get angry when I think of the 2* years of child hood stolen from her but quicky have to flip it to she's here shes alive and she will live a life so full that them 2 years will be a distant memory and hopefully live a life of adventure and positivity and a just go for it attitude .
