Redwoods for Oxygen "Redwoods for Oxygen moves with vision—preparing the New Earth for the coming glory. For Heaven will not remain afar. The dwelling place of God shall descend, and the Earth shall be made new. The veil will be lifted, and the New Earth will shine with His presence. This is holy work—to ready the ground for Heaven’s arrival. For the Lord is drawing near." > As a committed steward of God’s creation, I am passionate about restoring the ancient Redwood forests across the Northern United States, with a special focus on the remarkable Dawn Redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides). Known as a “living fossil,” the Dawn Redwood was believed extinct for millions of years until its surprising rediscovery in the 1940s. Fossil evidence shows this species has existed for over 150 million years— making it a symbol of endurance and the dawn of modern forests. These ancient trees play a vital role in our ecosystem by absorbing carbon dioxide and producing life-sustaining oxygen through photosynthesis. Restoring them is not only an environmental imperative but also a spiritual calling. The goal—if the Lord wills it—is to bring life back to these sacred ecosystems while honoring the Creator’s design, ultimately planting up to 1,000,000 Dawn Redwoods across Michigan and the Northern United States within the next five years. All plantings will be documented within an ongoing journal to track all success. My initiative, Redwoods for Oxygen, marries ecological stewardship with biblical hope. We seek to prepare the New Earth described in Scripture—a restored creation and God’s eternal dwelling place (Isaiah 65:17; Acts 3:21; Revelation 21:1)—by renewing these living testaments of God’s design. The purpose behind this work is rooted in both faith and science: to reconnect humanity with creation, fulfill our divine responsibility as caretakers, and contribute to long-term environmental healing. Those who feel called to join this mission will be welcomed into a Guild—a community of like-minded believers and conservationists. Guild members will receive voting rights to help guide key decisions, including the selection of planting locations for the Dawn Redwoods. Together—if the Lord wills it—we will work toward the ambitious goal of planting 1,000,000 Dawn Redwoods within the next five years, and your participation in the Guild will be crucial in meeting this milestone. Your investment as a member will support every aspect of this regenerative effort: from sapling purchases and greenhouse operations to legal, accounting, marketing, website development, labor, transportation, grow lights, netting, fertilizer, and other necessary expenditures. To ensure the greatest possible impact, only 5% of funds will be used for management and administrative costs, with the remaining 95% dedicated directly to the reforestation effort. As part of our commitment to collective stewardship, a portion of Dawn Redwood saplings will be given away for free, guided by the wisdom of the Guild. Members will nominate and vote on meaningful planting sites—whether schools, churches, public parks, or community organizations—where these trees can and inspire. This selection process reflects our belief in the power of shared discernment and honors the biblical principle that wise counsel comes from a multitude (Proverbs 15:22). I invite others who are passionate about conservation, faith-driven purpose, or innovative environmental solutions to connect and collaborate. Now is the time to act—if the Lord wills it—within the next five years, we have the opportunity to restore 1,000,000 ancient Redwoods to the land. Together, as a Guild and as stewards of creation, we can help heal the planet and embody the promise of renewal—one ancient Redwood at a time.
