<div>On the night of May 26, 2025, our beloved Mico, just 18 years old, was tragically taken from us in a devastating car accident caused by a drunk driver. Mico passed away instantly at the scene, leaving our family and community heartbroken.

<div>He was just a week away from graduating high school—full of promise, big dreams, and a bright future ahead. Mico was <strong>kind, joyful, and deeply loved</strong> by everyone who knew him. His smile lit up every room, and his warmth and generosity left a mark on all of our hearts. He was an <strong>intelligent</strong>, <strong>beautiful</strong> <strong>soul</strong> who simply loved life.

<div>Brian remains an incredibly special person in all of our lives, even in his passing. In his final days, Brian assured us that he felt he had lived a great life and that he was not worried about himself, but about those he was leaving behind. He wishes for us all to keep enjoying each day we have with each other and to live our lives to the fullest.

<div>Brian never put off an adventure or turned down an opportunity to spend time with friends. He always saw the best in people and ensured that all those around him felt loved and included. I hope we can all follow his example and make him proud. <div>Every time we get to enjoy a powder day on the mountain, a sunny day at the crag, a beautiful hike through the woods, have a large bass on the line, or we spot an eagle soaring overhead, I hope we can be reminded of all the things that Brian held dear and that we keep him alive in our memories and in our hearts. Let's remember him so we can put our best selves forward into the world and live with as much passion for life as he did.

Support the Brian Busby Memorial Scholarship

<div>On 3/23, I noticed that Grandpa, my beloved tabby cat, was frequenting the litter box and excessively grooming his genitals. I rushed him to the emergency vet, where we were given medication and he had fluids put under his skin. There was no urgency, and the vet made it seem as though Grandpa would be peeing in no time. When he got home, he was lethargic, but I attributed it to the medication the vet gave him. Come Monday, Grandpa had still not peed and refused to eat. I rushed him again to the emergency vet, where I was told he had a blockage. This was devastating, but the vet made it seem like Grandpa would be coming home within the next few days. I left, in tears, as I had to leave my baby alone at the vet. I got a call that night that he had been doing well and I could come see him in the morning. I rushed over before work to visit him, and he seemed more energetic, and the vet seemed hopeful. I went through my day happy, with the thoughts I would be bringing him home the following day. Later that afternoon I got a call that I needed to come to the vet urgently. The catheter had ripped through Grandpa's urethra and they would have to rush him to emergency surgery, but unsure if he would survive. At this point I felt lost. What comes next is the most painful decision I have had to make.

<div>Grandpa passed away in my arms, the place he loved most. If you know me, you know that cat is my child. I have raised him since he was 8 weeks old, we have traveled across the country together. He was my rock in very hard times. He was a very special cat, who meant the entire world to me. Anyone who met him will tell you he was an amazing cat, so friendly, and loved cuddling. Grandpa always made his presence known in whatever room he walked into.

This goal will ensure I can afford a safe, dependable vehicle that gives me the freedom to get around on my own.

<div>The Youngblood family is reaching out to the community during an unprecedented time of hardship. Our lives were upended by the devastating Eaton Canyon fires in Altadena, California.

<div>This tragedy ravaged our home which my parents purchased over 30 years ago, leaving the family without access to essential items, sentimental possessions, and stability. For over 50 years, we have proudly called the Altadena area home, and now we find ourselves turning to neighbors and friends that we have long cherished for help.
</div>

</div>
<div>Willie Youngblood Jr. a pilar of the Altadena/Pasadena community, has been especially impacted. Willie was a star football athlete at John Muir High School and a graduate of Bacone College in Oklahoma. Although Willie had a promising future in law enforcement, he returned home to Altadena to care for his mother who had fallen sick. Willie's life took a drastic turn after suffering a life-threatening injury due to senseless gun violence that left him paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. Despite his dedication and determination to adapt, the fire has destroyed the medical equipment and supplies he needs for daily living and rehabilitation.

<div>The Youngblood family has also faced several devastating losses of immediate family members, particularly the recent of loss our mother, Vickie Youngblood. This recent heartbreak has compounded the emotional and physical toll on the family, particularly on Willie Jr., who must now face his ongoing challenges without his mother’s loving support. We are also in need of support for our elderly father, Willie Sr., as he copes with the physical and emotional strain of these circumstances. Willie Sr. has been there to support his son despite his own serious medical issues and recent loss of his beloved wife of more the fifty years.
