My name is David, and I am reaching out for help for myself and my emotional support animal, Rocky. We are currently living in a shelter, but it’s not a safe place for us. The shelter is a harm reduction site, and there are drugs around, which makes it very hard for me to feel safe or move forward. Rocky has developed a bad rash all over his body, and I am worried about his health. Last March, I experienced a traumatic event—I was raped and overdosed with fentanyl. Since then, life has been incredibly difficult, and every day feels like a struggle. Rocky is more than just a pet; he is my companion and helps me manage my mental health. I have no family to turn to, and I don’t usually ask for help, but I am really desperate right now. We need to get away from this shelter and find stable housing where we can both feel safe. The funds raised will go toward finding a new place to live and paying for Rocky’s medical expenses so he can get the care he needs. I am a good man, but I just can’t understand why so many obstacles keep preventing me from moving forward. Your kindness and support would mean the world to us. Please help us get our life together.
