<div>In September 2024, my wife of 28 years was diagnosed with stage 3 gallbladder cancer. I made the difficult decision to quit my job to become her full-time caregiver. Our autistic son has taken on the added responsibility of working to help pay some of our bills.

<div>My wife's diagnosis has brought significant financial challenges. Her income decreased drastically when she went on short-term disability, and now her job is at risk. We're struggling to pay our mortgage and other bills.

<div>Traveling to Florida for treatment has added to our expenses, with hotel costs, food, and gas taking a toll on our finances. We're grateful for the occasional opportunity to stay at the Hope Lodge, but it's not always available. The American Cancer Society and generous donors have been a lifeline for us.

<div>Amidst the chaos, our pets have brought us comfort. Our orphan Nova Bean was dropped off at our house. We have Samoa, a Catahoula, and Charlotte, a Great Pyrenees, in our family. They've brought joy and love into our lives, especially for my wife.
