She was one heck of a mom, and I know that she was taken so soon, but I also know she is no longer in pain and she is no longer suffering from the thoughts. I am heartbroken but at the same time relieved to not have to carry so much pain. I didn’t know she was in so much pain, but in these circumstances, you never do know. So all I can do, all my family can do, is forgive her and know she is in a better place.

<div>We are Shayla and Sharita. This Mother's Day, we find ourselves in a position we never imagined—launching a fundraising campaign for the most selfless person we know, our mother. After over 30 years of laborious factory work and countless sacrifices to ensure we had the best possible start in life, our mother’s dream of a peaceful retirement has turned into a nightmare due to a devastating contractor scam. As a single mother, she's moved mountains for us, ensuring we received a great education and had everything we needed, often working 12 to 16 hours a day. Now, she finds herself in a dire situation that has stripped her of her savings and left her home uninhabitable.

<div><strong>What Happened:</strong>

<div>Prior to retiring in 2022, our mother decided to renovate our grandmother's home, which she inherited. Trusting my recommendation, she hired a contractor who appeared reputable and agreed to a substantial renovation. She signed a contract and paid a $67,500 deposit upfront, to get the project started. He asked her to remove all of her things from the property she wanted to keep and ensured her he would take care of the rest. She relocated from the home in October of 2021. He started the demolition in Jan of 2022. After the demo, progress stopped.

<div>We would reach out to him on a consistent basis and there were promises and excuses. By December of 2022 we were contacting the contractors board for help. We were alerted the license he provided was not his, he was not actually a licensed contractor. They were unable to help us.

</div>

<div>By mid 2023 we reached out to the attorneys. They advised us that he was in bankruptcy and had so many other cases we were likely to not get anything and would waste more money attempting to pursue him.

</div>

<div>We were advised to reach out to the district attorney and the police department and they stated that they could not take action either. We even attempted to go to the news to ensure he did not do this to anyone else. Everywhere we turned, we had no help or options.

</div>

<div>After speaking to others, we found out she was not the first person he has done this to. Others had been taken advantage of in the same way and some for more funds than my mother has lost.

</div>

<div><strong>The Impact:</strong>

<div>Our mother has been displaced, living with her daughter for over three years now, her independence shattered. With her income significantly reduced, she's even considering re-entering the workforce at her age, due to the strain of attempting to rebuild a home that she envisioned to be her sanctuary. Our hearts break every time we revisit the lot of the home we grew up in, now silent and abandoned. This has been a painful ordeal, especially knowing she is not the only victim of this fraudulent contractor.

Restore Hope: Support My Mom's Recovery from Contractor Scam

<font color="#333333">Hello everyone, a few days ago a extremely upsetting and repulsive racist video was sent to the most beautiful 14 year old girl. The video was attacking her racially and mentally with multiple threats made. She has been in an ongoing battle with racism and mental health for a while now. This video was not only disgusting but extremely offensive and hurtful. The sigin family is one of the most caring giving amazing family I have ever met and if you knew them you would know they don’t deserve any of this. Nobody does. I created this GoFundMe page to help raise a college fund for this amazing girl and help and support her and her family with whatever they need. Justice For The Sigin Family

<div>As the trial for the men who murdered Ahmaud Arbery on Feb 21, 2020 begins in Brunswick, GA many supporters have asked how they can support his mother Wanda Cooper who has worked so hard to get to this day. Ahmaud fought for his life as he was assailed by three armed men that hunted him down in their trucks. Since his murder his mother has fought to bring those men to justice at great personal expense. Wanda Cooper performed independent research that revealed conflicts among the prosecutors handling her son's murder investigation. She has traversed the state of Georgia and has gone as far as the Whitehouse and the seat of the United States Congress to demand justice for her son.

My name is Danielle Hosey and I was notified that there are people in the community that would like to send assistance to my daughter and her children.  This fund was set-up specifically for Shaina and her children and for anyone interested in assisting the family at this time.<br /><br />Shaina is a single mother of three young children.  She works hard and she loves her family very much. On Thursday February 11, 2021 Shaina was arrested at her job and taken to jail for leaving two of her children (ages 10 and 2) alone in their hotel room while she went to work. She was released the next day but found herself in the need of immediate housing. <br /><br />This campaign was created to help Shaina and her children raise the money they need  in order to secure permanent and safe housing. Everything raised will go directly to establishing a safe and permanent home for Shaina, Faith, Jai'Sean and Jade.<br /><br />We understand that everyone has a story and we are grateful that you are listening to ours. Tiffany Wilson Memorial Fund for Bryson

Before law enforcement goes about their pattern of villainizing this beautiful peaceful woman, turning her into a suspect, a silhouette, or threat, let me tell you about 28 y/o #AtatianaJefferson “Tay”. She was a Pre-med graduate of Xavier University. She was very close to her family. She was the auntie that stayed up on Friday night playing video games with her 8 year old nephew. She worked in pharmaceutical equipment sales. Her mom had recently gotten very sick, so she was home taking care of the house and loving her life. There was no reason for her to be murdered. None. We must have justice.

This fund is the only direct campaign to offer support to the family of Atatiana Jefferson. Funds collected will go directly to funeral cost and other expenses associated with this tragedy.
