<div>If you’ve spent any time in San Antonio’s bar community over the past three decades, there’s a good chance you know Vikki Buchanan.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And if you know Vikki, you know she has never been just a bartender.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For nearly 30 years, Vikki has built a career doing something she genuinely loves. Along the way, she became the familiar face behind the bar who remembers your name, remembers your drink and probably remembers the story you told her six months ago.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, new relationships and new beginnings with countless customers. She has listened when someone was having the worst day of their life. She has offered advice, laughter, a hug or simply a safe place to sit for a while.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Over the years, customers became regulars.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Regulars became friends.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And many of those friends became family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vikki built a loyal following of people who didn’t just go to a particular bar. They went to see Vikki.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She is also a devoted mother, proud grandmother, fiercely loyal friend and a heart of gold for all.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vikki has spent much of her life taking care of other people.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Today, we’re asking those people and this community to help take care of her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Everything Changed During Fiesta
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In April, while working during Fiesta, Vikki suffered a devastating fall from a ladder.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The injuries to her knee and leg were severe.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She tore her ACL.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She tore her meniscus.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She suffered two micro-fractures.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>What followed were weeks of appointments, uncertainty and pain, ultimately leading to surgery in May.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Since then, Vikki has been fighting her way through physical therapy and rehabilitation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Recovery has been much more difficult than anyone anticipated.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Months later, Vikki still cannot completely straighten her leg. Her left quadriceps has struggled to properly activate and rebuild strength. Things most of us do without thinking, standing, walking, bending and simply getting through an ordinary day, can now require tremendous effort.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She continues to work with her medical team and physical therapists, doing everything she can to recover.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But healing doesn’t happen according to a schedule.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The Bills Didn’t Stop When Vikki’s Pay Did
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vikki lost the income she depended on to live.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For months, she couldn’t return to her normal work.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Like so many hardworking people would do, Vikki initially tried to handle everything herself.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She relied on the savings she had spent years building and continued pushing forward while concentrating on surgery and rehabilitation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Month after month, those savings paid for the ordinary expenses that don’t disappear simply because someone gets injured.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Her home.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Utilities.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Groceries.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Transportation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Insurance.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Everyday necessities.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those savings are now exhausted.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vikki was recently approved for unemployment benefits after finally receiving a limited light-duty release. It is an important step forward, but those benefits don’t come close to replacing the income she normally earns or covering all of the expenses that accumulated during months when she couldn’t work.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Even now, her physical limitations remain significant. She needs frequent breaks and continues working toward regaining the strength and mobility necessary to return to normal activity.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This Isn’t Just a Job Vikki Is Trying to Get Back To
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This may be the most difficult part of her story.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Bartending has been Vikki’s career for nearly 30 years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Three decades.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She didn’t simply show up, pour drinks and collect a paycheck.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vikki spent those years building something.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She built relationships.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She built a reputation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She built a loyal customer base.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She became a popular bartender because she worked for it, one shift and one customer at a time.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>There are people who have followed Vikki from one bar to another over the years because Vikki herself was part of the reason they came through the door.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That’s something that can’t simply be replaced.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And bartending is intensely physical work.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It means spending long shifts on your feet. Walking constantly. Pivoting. Bending. Squatting. Lifting. Carrying. Moving quickly through tight spaces and keeping pace when a bar is packed.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Right now, Vikki doesn’t know when, or at what capacity, her knee will allow her to return to the career she has spent nearly three decades building.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She hopes she will.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She’s working incredibly hard to get there.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But today, there are still more questions than answers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>In Vikki’s Own Words
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Recently, Vikki shared publicly just how much this experience has affected her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She talked about the trauma, the pain and the seemingly endless rehabilitation.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She talked about being tired of always having to be the “Wonder Woman” everyone expects her to be.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And she shared one of her greatest fears:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>“I am facing the possibility of losing everything I have worked for. My home. My livelihood. My career.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Those words say something that pictures of surgery, scars and an injured knee never could.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This accident didn’t just hurt Vikki physically.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It interrupted the life she had built.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It took away her ability to earn her normal living.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It depleted her financial safety net.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It threatened her independence.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And it has left her wondering what a future that once seemed certain might now look like.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vikki also wrote:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>“I have given my life for my family and community. I have given everything I have behind the bar to everyone who ever needed anything.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Anyone who has known her for very long understands exactly what she means.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vikki has always been the strong one.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The one who works.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The one who takes care of her family.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The one who shows up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The one who checks on everybody else.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The one behind the bar who notices when you’re having a bad day and asks what’s wrong.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>The one who somehow finds enough strength for everyone around her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But after months of fighting through this injury, Vikki finally admitted something that isn’t easy for someone as fiercely independent as she is to say:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She’s tired.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And that’s okay.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Even Wonder Woman sometimes needs someone else to help carry the weight.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That’s Why We’re Asking for Your Help
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>This fundraiser isn’t about replacing everything Vikki has lost.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s about giving her some breathing room while she heals.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It’s about helping keep a roof over her head.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Keeping the utilities on.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Putting groceries in the refrigerator.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Keeping transportation available for appointments and physical therapy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Helping with everyday living expenses while she continues fighting to regain her mobility, strength and independence.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Most importantly, it’s about allowing Vikki to concentrate a little more on getting better and a little less on wondering which bill she can afford to pay next.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>If Vikki has ever poured you a drink, made you laugh, remembered your name, remembered your order, listened when you needed someone, celebrated with you, comforted you, hugged you, supported you or simply made your night a little brighter, this is our opportunity to return some of that kindness.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>No contribution is too small.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$10 helps.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$20 helps.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>$50 helps.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Whatever someone can comfortably give will make a difference.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And if you aren’t in a position to donate, please share this fundraiser.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Share it with friends.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Share it with former coworkers.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Share it with people who remember Vikki from years ago.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Share it with the San Antonio community she has spent decades serving.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>One share could reach someone who hasn’t seen Vikki in years but still remembers the bartender who knew their name and made them feel welcome.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>At the end of her recent message to friends, Vikki wrote about how much it has meant to have been part of so many people’s lives over the years.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She said:
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>“It has been my pleasure to serve you.”
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>That sentence says so much about who Vikki is.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>For nearly 30 years, she has stood on the other side of that bar and served thousands of people.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But she has done a lot more than serve drinks.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has created friendships.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has created memories.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has created community.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She has been there for people.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And right now, Vikki needs her people.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She isn’t giving up.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She’s healing.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She’s fighting.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She’s doing the physical therapy.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She’s trying to rebuild the strength in her leg.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>She’s trying to figure out what comes next.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>And she’s trying to hold onto the life she worked so hard to build while doing it.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>So for everyone Vikki has taken care of over the years, this is our chance to take care of her.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Vikki has always been there for us.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Now let’s be there for Vikki. ❤️
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Thank you for every donation, every share, every prayer, every message, every phone call and every person who reminds her that she doesn’t have to face this chapter alone.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Let’s help Vikki get back on her feet.
</div>

Vikki Has Always Been There for Us. Now She Needs Us. ❤️

<div>My name is Bently Paiz. I’m 21 years old and a grassroots community organizer in San Antonio who recently ran for Texas State Representative in District 120.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Today, I am facing homelessness.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Over the past year I poured everything I had into building a grassroots campaign focused on housing, workers’ rights, and protecting everyday people who are being pushed further and further to the edge. My campaign was powered entirely by volunteers and small donations, along with much of my own personal money trying to keep the campaign alive because I believed deeply in fighting for my community.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>While doing that, my own life slowly began to fall apart.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Work in the construction and fiber industry slowed significantly across the San Antonio area due to immigration raids at job sites. I lost the steady work I depended on as a fiber optic technician. Around the same time, I lost access to food assistance during the government shutdown.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Before this happened, I had been recovering from anorexia. When the shutdown cut off the support I relied on, I began skipping meals simply because I could not afford to eat. Unfortunately, that situation caused the eating disorder I had been recovering from to return, something that was not my decision but the result of being pushed into survival mode.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Eventually my health collapsed and I ended up hospitalized for several weeks. During that time I fell even further behind on rent. I also lost access to internet service because I could no longer afford it, which made it extremely difficult to apply for jobs or search for new work.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Shortly after, my car was repossessed, taking away the only reliable transportation I had left.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Yesterday, the court finalized my eviction.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>In just a few days I will be forced out of my apartment with nowhere to go.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I am completely on my own. I don’t have family who can take me in, and I have two dogs, a Husky and a German Shepherd, who depend on me and will likely end up on the streets if I lose the ability to care for them.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>The hardest part about this is that it’s the exact situation I was running for office to fight against. I’ve watched this happen to family members my entire life. Once people fall into this cycle of eviction, debt, and instability, most never recover.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I am doing everything I can to stop that from happening to me.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>This fundraiser will help me:</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div><strong>• Cover relocation and moving expenses</strong>

</div>

<div><strong>• Secure temporary housing so I am not forced onto the streets</strong>

</div>

<div><strong>• Stabilize basic living expenses while I search for work again</strong>

</div>

<div><strong>• Keep my dogs safe and cared for during this transition</strong>

</div>

<div><strong>• If enough is raised, work toward recovering my repossessed car so I can return to work and rebuild stability</strong>

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>I have always believed in fighting for the people around me and standing up for those who feel ignored or abandoned by the system. Right now, I am the one asking for help.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>If you’re able to donate anything at all, it would mean more than I can explain. And if you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser could make a huge difference.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you for giving me a chance to get back on my feet.

</div>

Help a 21-Year-Old Community Organizer Avoid Homelessness

<div>Recently, we transferred our last embryo — a baby boy — hoping and praying everything would be perfect and that we could finally complete our family. We had longed for him since we created our embryos back in 2021, alongside our baby girl, Ellie.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Ellie was our first transfer after the egg retrieval, making her beautiful debut in 2022. After she was born, we knew we still had a baby boy waiting for us. We focused on me finishing school and celebrating that accomplishment before turning our attention to our next transfer.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>When the time finally came, we were so excited to get the chance to meet our little boy. We could never have expected it to end the way it did. Around six weeks, I started bleeding and went in to get checked — only to find out we were actually expecting twins! Two perfect, strong heartbeats. The embryo had split! We were completely overjoyed, already imagining life with identical twins.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>At 7 weeks and 2 days, we lost one of them. We were devastated and heartbroken. After pulling ourselves together, we focused on our remaining baby, putting all our love and hope into him. With every shot I took, I prayed everything would stay okay. The doctors remained optimistic and believed this pregnancy would continue to be healthy.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>After passing into the second trimester, we thought we were out of the woods. But at 15 weeks, we lost our baby boy, Luka. Because I was so far along, I had to be induced and go through labor and delivery. It was an experience no one should ever have to go through, but heartbreakingly, it does happen.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>After mourning our boys, David and I couldn’t shake the feeling that this wasn’t how our story was meant to end. We had always dreamed of having four beautiful blessings. We decided we would go through another egg retrieval.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Our doctors believe this was an isolated miscarriage that couldn’t have been predicted. They suspect the embryo splitting caused issues with the placenta’s growth, preventing a healthy pregnancy. The odds of this happening in IVF are about 1%. With both our doctors’ and our family’s support, we plan to start our next egg retrieval in February or March.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>We’ve already started taking steps to make this possible — downsizing to a smaller, more affordable home and sticking to a tight budget over the next several months. Still, IVF is incredibly expensive, and we are humbly asking for help.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Any support — whether financial, through prayers, or simply words of comfort — means the world to us. The last time we did this, we received exactly what we needed to bring Ellie into the world. We are praying that this next retrieval will bring us our rainbow baby, in honor of Luka and his twin brother.

</div>

<div><br />

</div>

<div>Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for reading our story and supporting our family’s journey. ❤️

</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Gabe Welch, a cherished member of the Austin Gay Community and a beloved bartender and manager at Rain on 4th. Gabe's warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication touched the lives of countless friends, patrons, and loved ones.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Known for his bright smile, steady presence, and generous spirit, Gabe poured more than drinks — he poured kindness, laughter, and love into the hearts of everyone who walked through the doors. Rain on 4th wasn't just his workplace; it was his family. His loyalty and empathy made him a pillar in Austin's service community and a trusted friend to many.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Beyond the bar, Gabe was deeply devoted to his own family. He worked hard to provide for his parents and support them. His passing leaves a profound void not only in their lives but in the broader community that knew and loved him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As we grieve this immense loss in our community, we come together to honor Gabe's memory — a person of compassion, integrity, and heart, as well as a son whom stepped up to help support his parents. Those wishing to help his family during this difficult time may contribute to the efforts of supporting them as they navigate this period of mourning and adjustment. Your kindness and any contribution - no matter how small - will help us give Gabe Welch the respectful farewell he deserves and provide some relief to his grieving parents.

</div>
<div><b style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;">ONCE I HIT THIS GOAL, I'M DONATING </b><b style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;">THE REST TO A CHILDRENS CANCER HOSPITAL. IT'S MY NEW BIRTHDAY TRADITION. (Except next year it'll just be for them) ☺</b>
</div>
<div><b style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;"><br /></b>
</div>
<div><span style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;">I feel so relieved, but the fight isn't over yet. I have to complete all 12 treatments to be sure all cancer cells are gone. I have 2 more to go. They aren't lying, the last few treatments are harder, and I am hanging in there. It only takes one cell to have a relapse, and the treatment is harder. Don't ever wanna endure this again. I am also thinking of getting a "stem cell transplant". </span>
</div>
<div><span style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;">As well as helping my bone marrow, the donor stem cells develop into new immune cells that recognize my Lymphoma cells as foreign or 'non-self'. This type of stem cell transplant increases my chance of having a longer-lasting remission from Lymphoma.</span>
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><b>I am so grateful for all the generosity I have received and cannot thank you enough. You are a primary reason I was able to reach my initial goal. I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU AND YOUR GENEROSITY.</b>
</div>
<div>I am reopening this fundraiser to help me get the last help I need for this crazy experience. Again, I am grateful for all who have previously donated. I've been asked several times still if there is anyway someone can help me through this, and this helps in a big way. ANYTHING HELPS. If you prefer another form of donation I also have:

<div><span style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;"><br /></span>
</div>
<div><span style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;">MY JOURNEY:</span>
</div>
<div><span style="letter-spacing:0.0085px;">On April 21st, I was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma Stage 3 Cancer. That’s the bad news. The good news is the cancer is only effecting my lymphatic system with 8 nodes in my body and a little activity on my bones. Luckily, all my organs are healthy. Including my blood, and bone marrow. After many scans and tons of blood taken, my doctor informed me that I was in a good position to receive this treatment. The ABVD will knock out all the lymph cancer and whatever bone activity that is developing. </span><br />
</div><br />For 3 months prior to my diagnosis I decided to eat better and quit drinking because I wasn’t feeling healthy, well I know why now. I thought I had Covid twice or having a normal reaction to the Moderna vaccines, because of the HL symptoms. Fever, night sweats, and fatigue. My covid tests always came back negative. My roomie even had it, but I didn’t. I didn’t think much of it as an emergency. So I changed my diet. This is why the weight loss is so apparent (30lbs so far) and this why I got a short haircut. I will be losing some more weight possibly and I will be losing more hair possibly. <br /><br />I started chemotherapy aka infusion (ABVD) on May 24th. Side effects are horrible, but it’s necessary. I will be getting treatment 2 times a month for the next 6 months. (October should be my last treatment) I’m already seeing results. My doctor from Texas Oncology said I have an 85-90% chance that I’ll see major results with the first couple of cycles of treatment. Some of the side effects are nausea, dry mouth, change in taste, fatigue, and a few more nasties. Fortunately, my team has me on an arsenal of meds that seems to be working. It’s gonna be a long road, but I can do it. Day by day, hour by hour.<br /><br />I work for an amazing company and they pretty much saved my life. If I never went to HEB, I wouldn’t have gotten insurance and probably just procrastinated until it was too late. They are working with me with my attendance and have supplied me with great insurance and Cancer needs, but can’t enroll until October 21’. I also have FMLA and a great family support system. I have officially taken a leave of absence from HEB and, work my 1 night at Oilcan Harry’s, and some side gigs.<br /><br />Even though my amazing insurance is helping with a lot of the cost, I still need financial help. So I created this GoFundMe. I will greatly appreciate it if you can help or share. I know times are tough, and I understand. Please share if you can’t donate, or only give what you can. Everything helps! (can donate anonymously as well) <br /><br />This has been very emotional for me and my family, but we are pushing through. I had my day of depression and sulking, but I’ve decided to change to FIGHT MODE. I’m also apart of an awesome HL Support Group. It’s nice to see their journey. My family, best friends, and employers have been informed already and are eager to help in any way. I love them all. I’m in no pain and the side effects are minimal so far. So I hope this is a breeze so I can move on with my plans in life. <br /><br />It took me sometime to realize that it’s ok to not be ok, and to ask for help. So thank you for your help in advance. Nothing has to change, I feel very positive and hopeful that I can beat this. I know for a fact that I will get better and with your help, I feel invincible. Thank you. ❤️ from the mayor of 4th street, Tony Castro Jr. aka Antonio <br />Reach out to me if you would like more details.

Birthday Love ❤ Last time to help.

<p>I am writing this on behalf of my wonderful father, Brian Howe of San Antonio, TX, his wife and my mother Jeanette, and my four sisters. <strong>On Feb 24th, Brian learned that he has a brain tumor, already spreading into sensitive areas of his brain. The diagnosis has been a shock and devastation to all of us. </strong><br /><br />Brian has been a devoted husband and father for 37 years, working restlessly in the IT field to support his family. Since learning of his condition, his tumor rapidly became symptomatic, dramatically impacting his mobility and quality of life. He is experiencing physically debilitating symptoms such as constant headache, difficulty eating, walking, sleeping, or even moving around much. This has hindered him from traveling for additional medical attention and exploring options for care to alleviate his discomfort. <br /><br />He rapidly became unable to work. His job has been our parents’ only source of income, and due to contingencies of his position, he immediately loses pay if he is not present in the office. So as of now, they are without any incoming funds at this time of immense need.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_158473595091980_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_158473595091980_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_1584735856292366_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_1584735856292366_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />To add to the challenge we are facing, my mother was recently diagnosed with interstitial lung disease in December, which is aggravated by the old air conditioning unit and air ducts of their house, the costly replacement of which my parents had been trying to plan for prior to this very difficult news about my dad. Her health was already impaired by this, but she has had to become the primary caretaker for our father. The home repair that is needed to help her condition will require my parents to be displaced from their home, which is an additional burden that we hope to support by acquiring a temporary home space for our parents while we get the necessary repairs done to create a healthy home space for their healing.<br /><br /><strong>Of course, seemingly in the exact timeline of his illness, the global health crisis surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic has swept the world, and further removed a sense of basic security and safety for our family (as it has for so many of us). My parents are at high risk in their age, and are both suffering from compromised immune systems due to their condition.</strong> With this constant need for medical attention they do not have the luxury to avoid hospitals and stay completely indoors. These circumstances have created an added burden of stress and uncertainty during this time of personal duress.<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_1584736783723852_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_1584736783723852_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br />According to doctors, Brian’s tumor appears to be a diffuse glioma of some type. He was finally able to undergo a surgical biopsy on March 18th, which has intensified his symptoms and further impacted his functionality. The results will tell us more, but until then, we all have to care for him as we wait for further direction on possible treatment.<br /><br /><strong>Brain tumors of this type have bad odds. I desperately want to beat those odds so my father can experience life as he deserves to.</strong> I want more time with my father, and at the very least I carry the deepest wish to help him be able to enjoy his time, whatever the outcome. As of now, his ability to enjoy life has been drastically affected. <br /><br />We created this GoFundMe campaign to help compensate for his lost income, to offset the influx of medical bills and the costs of physical therapy and emotional counseling, to assist with our family’s housing needs (which my sisters and myself cannot sustain on our own, though we are trying), to support any further disability Brian might face, and to explore any healing efforts that might offer him a better quality of life. All funds recevied by donation will be directly withdrawn by our parents, Brian and Jeanette, to be applied to these needs during this time of medical care and halted imcome.<br /><br /><strong>We deeply appreciate any gesture of contribution to help him defeat his symptoms and fight a strong fight against this often deadly disease, and will continue to update this platform with news of his journey as it unfolds. On behalf of my sisters, his wife, and his young grandchildren who adore him, we thank you in advance for your love and support, and for taking the time to read this. </strong><br /><br />Please help however you can. Your offerings will be celebrated for as long as I and the rest of our family live. <br /><br /><br />With Love, <br /><br />Caitlyn, Rebecca, Jessamyn, Meredith, &amp; Larkin Howe<br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_1584736929309156_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_1584736929309156_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_158473140180025_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_158473140180025_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_1584730889908213_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_1584730889908213_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_1584732292660740_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_1584732292660740_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_1584732328932379_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_1584732328932379_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" /><br /><br /><img src="https://d2g8igdw686xgo.cloudfront.net/46317320_1584731526878448_r.jpeg" alt="46317320_1584731526878448_r.jpeg" width="100%" media_type="3" />

Help us raise funds to bring Ceazar to San Diego and to assist with his memorial services in both Austin, TX and San Diego, CA

Ceazar J. Kainz Memorial Fund

Hi, I am writing on behalf of my good friend Jaime (Michael) Dominguez. Michael was brutally attacked around the time of 12 am on Friday October 2nd. Someone attacked Michael on Cedar Springs Road in Dallas, Texas. Someone hit him from behind, and attacked him multiple times with a razor blade/knife. He was left for dead on the side of the road bleeding profusely. He was picked up after someone called the ambulance after finding him on the street. He has stab wounds and cuts on his arms, stomach, and was sliced across the eye. Right now he is trying to get better and has to miss work, from both of his jobs. Some of his belongings were either stolen or lost in the attack. This fund is being started to help him get back on his feet. We are trying to raise money for his deductibles, medical bills, and to help because he will be missing work for two weeks or more. We thank everyone for all the help and support. This is the second attack in less then one month around the Cedar Springs/Oak Lawn/Maple Area. We are trying to seek justice. If you know any info please contact us and use the hashtag #JusticeForJaime on social media. Thank you and God Bless!!!!!!! contact: [email redacted]
