<div>My name is Carrie and I am trying to help a good friend who very much needs a surgery to help with debilitating pain.
</div>
<div>Her name is Stacie and 17 years ago, in a freak accident, she fell down the steps which resulted in a broken foot and CRPS. Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome is when the sympathetic nerve system is turned on (due to damage) and never shuts off. This causes less blood circulation to the area (her foot and ankle) and less blood flow affects the bones, muscles, tendons and ligaments. It affects movement and causes severe pain. CRPS can spread anywhere in the body and has already spread to her lower back and both legs.

<div>After 20+ surgeries, thousands of injections and countless infections, it was suggested to amputate below the knee on her left side. With her husband and 2 little girls support, and the hope of becoming an active mom and wife again, she had the surgery in January of 2020. She wouldn’t be pain free but could be as active as possible and work the jobs she loves as a parapro and swim instructor.

<div>She has tried many different systems and is currently using the best one available for CRPS that is in Michigan. She is still in severe pain and uses crutches, a wheelchair or knee scooter as alternatives.
</div>
<div>There is a new to the USA system that has been approved, Osseointegration (OI), which is available in New York. They place a custom made implant into the tibia that the bone grows into and around. The prosthetic ankle and foot screw onto the post which has become part of her skeleton. This alleviates the need for a “leg” which aggravates the stump and causes pain!
</div>
<div>The OI operation is roughly $30,000. I would love to help her reach the goal. It is so hard to watch my friend be in so much pain.

<div>My name is Molly and I am Kirstie's little sister. When my sister was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer in 2018, she told me to prepare myself because this cancer of hers was not just hers. It would affect everyone around her, especially those closest to her. I told her I was ready to fight right along with her. It's been 5 years and Kirstie is still fighting. Her family is still fighting along with her.
</div>
<div>For anyone who has been through a terminal cancer diagnosis with someone you love, you know it takes a village. So now, I am reaching out to the greater village and asking you to consider helping Kirstie as she goes through this next stage. She can no longer work and needs help with bills, groceries, and day-to-day essentials.

<div>Hello, my name is Kirstie Olson and I’m in a battle ME vs STAGE IV CANCER.
</div>
<div>I thought 2004-2005 were difficult years. I turned 40, scheduled my mammogram, and walked out with breast cancer. Seems now, like cancer’s ugly face was just getting warmed up for the main event.
</div>
<div>Being cancer free for fifteen years was a joy and a miracle. It took three years for me to heal physically, and the next ten to heal mentally.
</div>
<div>Then, the summer of 2018 brought pain. The pain led to two misdiagnoses before the right radiologist read the MRI. Stage IV metastatic breast cancer recurrence, soft tissue and bone. For the past five years, my abdominal aorta, ribs, and spleen have been the stars of the show. Earlier this year my liver, left ureter, and spleen joined the cancer party.
</div>
<div>Here’s my point. I’m getting whacked pretty good. In the past five years I’ve swallowed down two of the most progressive, targeted chemotherapy drugs available. I’m now I'm on my third drug because cancer is an asshat.
</div>
<div>I am a teacher. I am a teacher who has not been able to work with kids since December. I now wear a NEPHROSTOMY tube from my left kidney out to a drainage bag. I’ve been hospitalized twice in the past two months for high fevers. Damn. What an ordeal.
</div>
<div>All disease aside, here I am. One of three amazing sisters. A daughter to my parents, a mom to my two kids, a "Grandma Girl" to my grandkids, a proud Dog Mom to my

The Chasing M's Foundation Community Toy Drive

<div>On September 7, eleven-month-old Brighton Price was admitted to Ochsner Hospital in New Orleans.
</div>

<div>The initial reason was failure to thrive. What was projected to be a 3-day stay turned in to a 20-day stay for Josh, Kelly, and Brighton. She essentially had every test in the book to find the underlying issue. In addition to SO many tests, she also had a feeding tube surgically inserted to help with feedings and weight gain.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Brighton was diagnosed with a mitochondrial disorder called Leigh's Syndrome on October 7. Her condition is progressive and there is no cure.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>As you can imagine, medical bills are just beginning after 20 days in a hospital with numerous tests and procedures. There is a $700 monthly expense for special high calorie formula and feeding tube supplies, as well as travel costs for ongoing trips to and from New Orleans for continuing appointments.
</div>

<div>The next step for Brighton is complex care. The road and expenses ahead are sure to be difficult as Josh and Kelly are just starting to understand what will be involved in caring for her.

Ongoing Care for Brighton and the Price Family

<div>Jimmie Minor left this world entirely too young at 15. The heartbreak and devastation of this loss can’t be described adequately in words. His family and friends are reeling from the unexpected and untimely death. If you can contribute financially to support the family with final expenses, it would be appreciated more than you know. Please talk to your children about mental health and suicide awareness. If you hear someone talk about it, tell someone. Our children shouldn’t have to grieve their friends like this. <strong>Save Black Family-Owned Blues Hotel</strong><br /><br />Please help us Save the most Historic Blues Hotel in America …The Riverside Hotel located in Clarksdale, Mississippi.<br /><br /><strong>Our beloved Riverside Hotel is in trouble! </strong>Covid-19 shut the hotel down in 2020, then a violent storm fell a tree onto the hotel, causing extensive damage. With the hotel now closed and overheads and critical repairs outstanding; the Hotel’s owners, sisters Zelena Ratliff and Sonya Gates, desperately need to raise operating funds to cover basic monthly expenses and pay for critical repairs, pending the hotel’s planned re-opening in the Spring 2022.<br /><br />The Riverside Hotel “was dreamed up, owned, and operated by our grandmother, an African American woman, Mrs. Z. L. Hill, living in Jim Crow–era Mississippi”; and since 1944 and up until the Pandemic in 2020, the Riverside Hotel had “provided safe lodging in the Delta for some of the most famous musicians in history as well as like-minded folk”, and was the place “where Blues Gave Birth to Rock and Roll”.<br /><br />After his beloved mother Mrs. Z.L. Hill passed, her son Frank “Rat” Ratliff took over the operations of The Riverside; where he became an enthusiastic historian of the hotel and helped preserve and carry forward the oral and pictorial history of the Hotel’s many visitors.  Today, these stories; of Rocket ’88 being written and rehearsed at the Riverside, Robert Nighthawk’s suitcase being left behind, and many others have become a precious legacy for his daughters, Zelena and Sonya and future generations of the Ratliff Family.<br /><br />The Riverside was home to some, including the likes of Sonny Boy Williamson II, Ike Turner and Robert Nighthawk. Others, like Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Sam Cooke, Jessie Mae Hemphill, and Duke Ellington made the Riverside Hotel their home away from home as they toured and crisscrossed the South. Rocket 88; considered to be the first Rock N Roll song ever, was written and rehearsed at The Riverside Hotel by Ike Turner and Jackie Brenston.  <br /><br />Prior to becoming the Riverside Hotel, the property operated as the GT Thomas Hospital for African Americans, where in 1937 the Empress of the Blues, Bessie Smith was brought, seriously injured in a car wreck while travelling between shows, and where she died of her injuries. Today, the room she passed in is preserved as a shrine in her honor, as a tribute to the most famous woman in Blues History.<br /><br />Our Goal is to raise $50,000 by establishing an EMERGENCY OPERATING FUND, to help sustain the hotel and prepare the hotel to re-open for business.<br /><br />Earlier this month, the National Trust for Historic Preservation listed the Riverside Hotel as one of America's 11 Most Endangered Historic Places in 2021. Original owner, Mrs. Z.L. Hill's granddaughters, Sonya Gates and Zelena Ratliff, are working to ensure that their family's legacy and the legacy of blues history is preserved for generations to come.<br /><br /><strong>What do we need $50,000 for?</strong><br /><br />Specifically, The Riverside needs $4,000 per month for overhead costs: insurance, property taxes, utilities, phone, security monitoring, necessary upkeep and critical repairs. Plus, any expenditures that are necessary to prepare the Hotel to re-open.<br /><br />And, once the Hotel is near an opening date:<br /><br />a) $2,000 for necessary safety maintenance (Staff and supplies) to help the Riverside implement health protocols against Covid-19,<br /><br />b) $2,500 to help prepare and maintain the property and its rooms for rent, including purchasing a washer and dryer set for the Hotel.<br /><br />These Emergency Operating funds are desperately needed while we prepare a plan for extensive restoration and preservation including application for grants and while we await acceptance of our request for 501c3 non-profit status**.<br /><br />"African American businesses are so important, and its a way that we can continue on," says Sonya Gates, "in the news, they always talk <br />about economic wealth and how African Americans aren't necessarily able to have that 'passed-down' economic wealth. <div>Hi, we are the Sinanian Family and we are trying to do what we can to help our sister Arlene get through this long and arduous journey in fighting her breast cancer. She has spent her life trying to bring happiness to others (most recently going to hospitals, hospices etc. with her dog to provide pet therapy to help comfort those whom have been dealing with their struggles.) <div>Hope is my oldest and dearest friend in the world. We have literally known each other since we were 3 years old. We grew up together in Gulfport, and we have been friends for over 50 years. Her husband Alan and her two great kids Kinsey and Mak are some of the best people I know.

<div>Hope was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in August 2021 after a sudden illness that required emergency surgery. She has completed 12 rounds of chemotherapy over 6 months and has had 3 surgeries. She is about to undergo a fourth in late June to remove the remaining tumors on her liver and any peritoneal cancer with a HIPEC procedure. Hope and her medical team feel confident about this next step, but it is a difficult and expensive one.

<div>Hope retired from her job as an art teacher in March 2022 after 30 years in the classroom to focus on her health. As great as retirement is for Hope’s recuperation after chemotherapy treatments and procedures, it does come with a very significant decrease in income. Even with insurance, Hope has mounting medical bills and is not well enough at this time to work part-time. Her husband Alan, a chef, supports her full time while working a physically demanding job. They are grateful to support each other in the journey toward her recovery, and they would be incredibly thankful for your contribution.

After several days communicating with Felix's primary care, oncologist, and hospice, I realized that there was no coverage for an in home health aid and Olga could not do it all by herself. I've taken a leave of absence from work to help out- but what is really needed is a professional care giver. Be The Miracle

This is  a verified gofundme, this has been a life changing event for my Grandson.<br />My 30 year old Grandson was shot 5 times, on March 02, 2021. and left for dead in the parking lot of a motel in Catonsville Maryland.<br /><br />Hello everyone, just an update on Derrick's condition, I have to report that his right leg couldn't be saved.<br />So  they have amputated the leg just below the knee. This is a life altering event, Derrick has had 8 surgeries and will have several more surgeries in the coming months, this young man's life has been turned upside down in the last three months and he needs your support. We want to thank everyone for their prayers, support and generosity in giving, but what we have is not enough to help with all his medical needs, we don't know how long it will take for Derrick's recovery, but it will be a long road ahead.<br />He no longer has a job, when he is released, so that means he has no place to stay, his job was live-in.
