Hello I’m Damien, and I'm starting this fundraiser because I’ve been out of work for months and have been stuck without reliable transportation. I live in a suburban area where job options nearby are limited, maybe 6-8 facilities I can work at, and I’ve been trying everything I can to find work. This includes asking local businesses to applying for remote jobs, but I haven't been having any luck. Right now, the biggest thing standing in my way is my car. My old car needs the CVT transmission repaired or replaced, right now where I am at, I desperately need a functioning vehicle. Having a working car would make a huge difference right now. It would let me get into town for work, grocery shopping, and other basic needs that I cannot reliably do right now. It would also help me reconnect with my community up in Florence, like being able to make it to boardgame nights again and properly socialize. I’ve already asked family for help, and they simply aren’t in a position to assist due to their own financial struggles. If you’re able to support me, please know that any help would mean so much. The car itself, for those wondering, had 187K-miles on it before the transmission gave out. While I may be young, I did my best to keep it going, having been taught by family how to maintain it properly doing oil changes, coil packs, spark plugs, and filter changes regularly on my own. I am inputting and editing this myself instead of relying on the AI generative nonsense gofundme uses now. To hopefully get a point across that this is sincere and desperate for me.
