On the evening of October 8th 2020, Corporal Adam McMillan was involved in a serious auto accident while on duty in Anderson Township. As a result of the collision, Adam suffered a severe head injury and is currently hospitalized in critical condition. It is expected that his road to recovery will be several weeks to months. I am looking to help ease the financial burden of his medical expenses related to his continued care and recovery.<br /><br />Corporal Adam McMillan has served his community as a Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy for 19 years. He has helped countless hundreds of people in their own times of crisis and need, both personally and professionally. Adam has participated in the Police Unity Tour during national police week in Washington D. C.  3 separate years, helping to raise thousands of dollars that went towards raising awareness and financial aid to fallen officer's families  and the National Police Memorial fund. On Monday May 17, 2021 at around 2:00pm a tornado ripped through the property that Camie, Teagan, and Devinne's home was located on. Their entire home that they had just built was completely destroyed as were their belongings. Help Camie and family recover from tornado damage

<p>Union County farmers, Don Bailey and his son Patrick, need help protecting an agricultural easement that was donated to the Ohio Department of Agriculture by their ancestor. Columbia Gas has notified them of its intention to construct a high pressure gas line across the middle of the family farm, thereby defeating the purpose of the agricultural easement.

<p>The 230-acre Bailey/Renner farm has been continuously owned and operated by the same family for over 150 years. The current residents, Don and Patrick and their families, are the sixth generation to live on and farm this historic property. In addition to being conservation-minded farmers, the Baileys are both decorated combat veterans of their generation’s respective wars in Viet Nam and Iraq.

<p>Arno Renner, Don’s uncle and the grandson of the first owner of the farm, Johann Rausch, saw himself as a guardian of the family legacy that the land represented. To protect the land that he farmed for more than 60 years, he formed the Arno Renner Trust and donated an agricultural easement for the 230-acre farm to the State of Ohio’s Agricultural Easement Donation Program administered by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. In return, the State of Ohio pledged a guarantee to forever protect the donated agricultural easement.

<p>The agricultural legacy of the farm is now in jeopardy due to Columbia Gas’s plans to construct a gas pipeline. Even though the agricultural easement clearly prohibits the installation of utilities that will not serve the farm and also prohibits the disruption of soils, the Ohio Department of Agriculture is refusing to defend the agricultural easement as it promised. This refusal to challenge Columbia Gas is a drastic change from the position taken by the Ohio Department of Agriculture in the past. In 2005, the state of Ohio opposed the City of Marysville’s threat to use eminent domain to install a large sewer line across the farm. The State worked with the City to find an alternate route that achieved the project’s goals and protected the preserved farm by keeping the sewer line in the existing public road right-of-way. The state supported the protected status of the farm again in 2008, when it opposed a private developer’s attempt, supported by Union County, to install a water line across the farm. At that time, the Ohio Attorney General wrote in a legal opinion that the proposed placement of the water main was “counter to the preservation of the Bailey property as farmland.” The developer and the County were able to find an alternate route that achieved the project’s goals while protecting the preserved farm by keeping the water main in the existing public road right-of-way.

<p>In the fall of 2019, Columbia Gas began investigating three possible routes for a new natural gas transmission main to service new industry in southern Union County, which had become the fastest growing in the state. Intent on maximizing corporate profits, Columbia Gas quickly chose the route that would avoid other more expensive parcels and would extend a mile in length right through the middle of the preserved property. The Baileys knew the language of the agricultural easement clearly prohibited such a project, and they were confident that the State of Ohio would follow the earlier precedents to protect the farm. But without explanation, the State has turned its back on them.

<p>Now Columbia Gas has filed a “notice of intent to appropriate” to begin the legal process to seize a swath through the protected land through eminent domain, and the State seems satisfied to quietly let it happen. In stark contrast to the past, the Baileys now stand alone against one of Ohio’s most powerful corporations. If the Baileys don’t put up a vigorous legal defense, Columbia Gas will simply take what they want through eminent domain, without regard for the State’s original promise written into the agricultural easement that the land would be protected forever. If this were to happen, it would set a dangerous new precedent that would weaken the protections of preserved properties everywhere, particularly regarding agricultural easements held by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, and make them attractive targets for every future development project across the entire state.
</p>

<p>The raised funds will be used only for the legal defense of the protected property and 100% of any funds not needed for that purpose will be donated to non-profit Ohio land trust organizations to provide for the legal defense of other protected farms in the future. If you can’t contribute financially, you can still get into the fight by contacting your State representatives and demanding that the State of Ohio keep its promises.
</p>

Help Protect an Ohio Family Farm

As most of you know my brother Rocky has been in the hospital with multiple medical conditions for almost a week now, and it doesn’t seem like he’ll be going home anytime soon as the doctors are trying to figure out what is causing his discomfort, due to his new job that started in mid January, Rocky’s medical plan has not kicked in, not to mention he is not getting any income coming in, my sister-in-law Mary has had to miss numerous days at her job as well, we are hoping to get the answers to his problems but it’s going to take some time, I’m asking my friends and family to please donate whatever you can, every bit helps, thank you all in advance, and we continue everyday to pray that he gets better and on his way to a speedy recovery! ❤️

<p>The Tamarack Fire started as a result of lightening on July 4th 2021 in the wilderness areas of Alpine County. High winds on Jul 16th caused the fire to quickly explode, advancing toward the small, remote town of Markleeville, Calif.

<p>By July 17th, the fire had surrounded Markleeville and headed multiple directions toward more small communities in the county, including Alpine Village, Crystal Springs, Woodfords, and Hung a lel ti.  Now, a large majority of residents in these communities of Eastern Alpine County are evacuated, and more are on alert. The evacuation center is currently staged at the Douglas County Community Center in Gardnerville, Nev.

<p>With your help, we can assist the evacuees in meeting basic needs while fire suppression efforts are underway, as well as establish funds to help evacuees return to their homes, and for those who have lost homes or had their business shut down, we can help them rebuild.

First off, I’d like to say Donna is the most generous, caring, and genuine person I have ever met. On 7/8/21 a f1 tornado went through her neighborhood at speeds up to 150mph.  It has destroyed everything in her home. There is a pictures attached to show some of the damaged that happened. Donna not only lost the roof to both her home and barn which has been in her late husband’s family for generations but next to everything inside of them as well. She has a son and her mother in law that live with her and they will need to relocate until it is fixed if it even can be fixed because it honestly looks like a total loss. Her room and her sons room are on the upper floor and I am unsure if anything can be salvaged as of yet. Some ceilings on the first level have collapsed and there water damage throughout the entire house floors walls and ceilings. Help the Dunlap’s after a tornado took their home

Zalmay Niazy has a fight for his life ahead of him. As many know, Zalmay “Zee“ was hired by the US Army to serve as interpreter. In 2007, Zee was recognized by Captain Robert Song, “for exposing several instances of corruption“ that saved the lives of US troops. However, because of something he did prior to this, as a 9 year old child under duress, his asylum case is in question. <br /><br />We want to do everything we can to support this member of our community who has ingrained himself in our hearts and our lives through his friendship, talents, and public service. Many have expressed the desire to donate money for lawyer fees, travel, and any other expenses that arise in a fight such as this. Though he would never ask for money for himself, he is so grateful for the messages, phone calls, love and support that he has received from the Iowa Falls community and beyond. It gives him hope and the strength to keep fighting to stay in the United States. Help Zee Who Helped US

On May 17th, my moms world was turned completely upside down. Due to Hurricane Laura and Delta ruining her home, she was living in a camper in her driveway. What she thought was just going to be a little bit of bad weather turned into her worst nightmare. While she was laying down, A tornado touched down in her neighborhood causing her camper to flip 3 times as it was being torn to shreds. By the Grace of God, she only suffered a few minor injuries. As for her camper and everything in there, she was only able to save some clothes. This was all she had.  Everything she was able to save from her house after the hurricanes was in this camper. She was left with nothing. I know everyone in this area is suffering but even the slightest bit will help out. I am reaching out in hopes of finding support for our neighbor Ryo.<br />A few months ago Ryo was taken away by ambulance, some weeks after that a crew was in the hallway cleaning out his apartment and we thought he had died, in fact a friend of his set up a memorial to him in front of his building at 133 Ave D asking if anyone knew what had happened to him. <br /><br />Yesterday Ryo returned home after hospitalization and months of COVID rehabilitation.  He arrived to the building to find his locks changed and his apartment emptied out except for his piano and tortoise (who was left alone for months). He had worked throughout the pandemic as a restaurant worker. He initially got sick in October and was hospitalized in January.<br /><br />He has no shoes, no toothbrush, no documents or ID, no passport, no fridge or stove. <br /><br />He needs assistance to get his life back and move forward. Help Ryo Rebuild His Life

Hi everyone, my name is Alondra Carmona and I am a senior at Yes Prep East End in Houston, TX. My dreams came true on December 14th when I was accepted into the Ivy League women’s institution, Barnard College. I have worked tirelessly to look for programs and opportunities that my small school could not provide. This motivation led me to attend a 6 week research internship for cervical cancer at Rice University. While at Rice, I found that I wanted to pursue an M.D./PhD. This secured my thoughts of studying under STEM and research. All of the programs I attended were a product of my enthusiasm for learning more about medicine and science. I come from a single parent household and my mom worked everyday to pay rent. In February of 2020, my mom broke her ankle and was not able to work. Come March, the coronavirus started which added to the financial problems we already had. Today, I found out that my mom has not had a job for 3 months and hid it from us. She owes two months of rent and will most likely get evicted in March. All of my college savings will go to paying the rent that we are behind on. As much as I dream of going to Barnard College, it is not looking promising right now. I am turning to this as a last resort because Barnard will not be able to change my financial aid package. I am absolutely in love with Barnard and it has been my dream since I was 15 years old. Thank you for your time. Anything helps :)

<font color="#333333">For most of his life, Clint and his four legged service dog, Lucas have sat quietly on the curb of a Waco Chick-fil-a with a sign that reads “WAR VETERAN- anything helps.”<br /><br />For the past three years, I’ve driven past him, blinded by my own privilege &amp; consumed with fear of the unknown. <br /><br />That changed recently when I decided the least I could do was get a man who served his country a burrito.. &amp; I did. After giving it to him, however, I realized upon arriving home that I had actually given him the bag with only sauce- a mistake that would both embarrass me and inspire me to go back &amp; make it right.<br /><br />What started as an accident has turned into both a viral story on the internet &amp; a friendship that is changing &amp; softening not only my heart- but millions of others. <br /><br />As a 60 year old war veteran, Clint suffers from both Post Traumatic Stress Disorder &amp; Parkinson’s Disease- two disabilities that don’t make life on the streets any easier. Essentials Fund

Bryce Rennie, a seasoned Wildland Firefighter, suffered debilitating injuries on Labor Day night while responding to the Echo Mountain Fire on the Oregon Coast. The crew was removing fallen trees and debris off Hwy 101 that were blocking access to the fire. A strong wind gust caused more large trees to fall, one landing  on him. Bryce is currently recovering from multiple fractures to his spine and neck. Front and back rib fractures to his entire right rib cage. A broken ankle and many other related injuries. <strong>Caleb’s Story:</strong><br /><br />Caleb and Kristen met on red Oklahoma soil and fell in love in Maryland under the summertime stars. They were married in 2013 after a whirlwind romance. Their great love grew even stronger in 2014 when their son, Rowdy, was born and again in 2016 with a daughter, Summer Jo. He was experiencing some out of the ordinary stomach symptoms and wanted to be healthy for the long weeks ahead. The doctor’s office ran routine blood-work, and the results came back as abnormal. Their doctor sent them to the ER, and within hours they were admitted with a prognosis of “you should probably prepare for the worst.” Caleb and Kristen spent the next four days in the hospital meeting with specialists and running tests. On Friday, November 16th they were given the diagnosis their hearts most feared: it was cancer. Not leukemia as they initially thought, but a rare form of blood cancer known as MDS (Myelodysplastic Syndromes).<br /><br />This week, Caleb and Kristen will meet with a team of oncologists to decide on the way forward. He will likely require a bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy and a host of other treatments. He will be placed in periods of isolation, time away from his children, his family and friends, and his work. Support Victims of Pulse Shooting

The WDM Valley Debate Team is among the largest and most successful in the nation. We have qualified seven students to the NSDA Nationals this June in Salt Lake City. <br /><br />Debate travel is very expensive. Students pay for much of the cost of each tournament. However, we provide support to all students who could not otherwise  afford to compete. <br /><br />Due to an increasing level of need in the district, we have, for the first time, found our funds running short before the end of the season. WDM Valley Debate NSDA Nationals

Dear friends and family- <br /><br />It breaks my heart a little to have to do this, but over the last couple months, I’ve learned that you truly ONLY get by with a little help from your friends. <br /><br /><strong>The Story</strong><br /><br />Some of you know different pieces of the story of what’s happening with our mom, Patty, right now. Patty had brain cancer and brain surgery 17 years ago. She recovered and things were great, for about 12 years. Five years ago, she began experiencing memory loss and other cognitive issues, and she was diagnosed with dementia. My dad, Mark, has done a truly amazing job taking care of her. He is a saint. He is literally the strongest, most dedicated man I’ve ever known. The love my parents have for each other is something I wish everyone had the chance to witness firsthand.<br /><br />Two months ago, my mom fell and broke her hip. She’s been at a rehab facility ever since, and while hip rehab went well, her cognitive abilities declined, and her physical needs simply became more than my family can handle at home.  Last week, she moved into a facility where professionals can care for her, and her dementia, and keep her safe and happy. That’s what we’re hoping for, at least. This was a horribly difficult decision to make, but in the end, we’re hoping it’s what’s best for Patty. <br /><br />This is emotionally devastating and financially troubling for my family. These last two months have been difficult beyond measure. I thought my mom’s brain cancer would be the worst thing that would ever happen to my family, but this is much, much worse. My parents are so young and have SO much life left to live, and I need to make sure that happens. <br /><br /><strong>The Ask</strong><br /><br />Among other financial needs, one thing I’d really like to try to get for my parents is an accessible van. My mom is unstable and sometimes transferring in and out of a vehicle is a huge issue. Having an accessible van would allow my parents the freedom to get out once in a while and do things they love doing. Fairs, farmers markets, festivals, Whiskey Belles concerts, just get out and live life a little. It would also make routine appointments much, much easier.<br /><br />Luke and I wanted to set up this account to make sure our precious little family is able to stay that way for a long, long time. <br /><br />Anything you can donate to our family is greatly, greatly appreciated. We have chugged along for years now, and are used to making the best of what’s around, but we could really use a little help doing that right now.
