Amanda and Kevin have been through more than most people could imagine, and right now they are in urgent need of help to stay housed. Amanda is a U.S. veteran, and for a long time both Amanda and Kevin have been trying to get disability benefits, but the process has taken far longer than expected. Before finally getting into an apartment through Amanda’s veteran status, they endured homelessness for over a year. During that time, they suffered heartbreaking losses, including the deaths of two beloved service animals, Katie and Kameron. As if that were not enough, someone set their tent and belongings on fire. After everything they have survived, they were finally able to get a place to live, but now they are facing another crisis. Their power bill grew beyond what they could afford, the electricity was shut off, and their housing situation is now at risk because they were given only 28 to 48 hours to come up with nearly $1,000 to avoid eviction.
This fundraiser is to help Amanda and Kevin get through this emergency and keep a roof over their heads. The funds will go directly toward the overdue power bill, any other late utilities or rent that still need to be covered, and basic necessities like food and hygiene items because their cabinets and fridge are bare right now. They are also trying to care for their service animals, Lucks the cat and Bella the dog, while carrying all of this stress. Please help if you can. Any donation will make a real difference in helping Amanda and Kevin stay safe, keep their home, and avoid being pushed back onto the streets before winter. If donating here is not possible, please consider calling the utility company and paying directly. Every act of support matters.
